The Republican commentator is incapable of allowing a critical non-partisan acceptance of reality. Alito chose to make those PUBLIC statements befor4e the issues appeared before the Court. He might as well have given his fellow Jurist the finger. The Pine Tree Flag didn't fly all year, it was flown after the first flag controversy, i.e. the finger.

Another perspective. Let's say I bought a gun decades ago and never had it loaded. It sat there empty for 40 years. Then two years ago someone loaded the gun right in front of me and now it sits there loaded and chambered. If I put that gun to my head, should I be arguing it's fine because historically it's empty, or should I be concerned that it is currently loaded? That flag is currently loaded. Don't wave a loaded flag around thinking it's fine. It just shows you are ignorant or naive, either trait being bad for a Supreme Court Justice.

More controversial is flying a gay pride flag at the White House, and waving another nation’s flag in Congress.

Obviously, justice Alito's house is a frigate commissioned in 1789, so the idea that this flag is being flown for symbolic purposes is absolutely preposterous.

The same court is debating if a president is above the law and thereby delaying Trump's court case. Either these people are biased or they are shockingly stupid for entertaining this crazy question. Both Alito and Thomas should have recused themselves from hearing and ruling on past Trump cases, and should recuse themselves from any and all future Trump related cases as well...especially those having to do with the 2020 election. Not making that responsible decision is just one of the many reasons most people say they don't trust our current Supreme Court.

If someone flies a flag of a sports team, country etc then that person is associating themselves with that. scott jennings should be aware how his expression reads to a normal person. btw- not every American worked on Alito's confirmation and has personal knowledge of the justice. how about respect for people coming to their own conclusions based on the info they have? all this aside, thousands of fed employees agree to and abide by the rule that they do not advertise their political beliefs via bumperstickers, yard signs, buttons etc. The justices should be expected to have the self-restraint to respect the same basic rules, which includes co-owned properties. The argument that his wife ran up an upside flag is thin- unless she is the sole owner and insurer of the house that is (doubtful).
