To establish an alibi, LOL! Jokes aside, the point of the commercial is when you get to your destination, you don't have to stay at the airport long to fill out paperwork before getting your car. Before, you probably had to stand in line before you got to a clerk and then fill out paper work. That cost precious time if you had a meeting to get to. Hertz was marketing especially to business class passengers who were on a tight schedule. Plus even if it's a vacation, you still want to leave the airport as soon as possible.

I was born in 1975. And, for some reason I remember watching this commercial as a young kid. I think it was typical to run these commercials for several years back then. Kind of like the Life cereal with Mikey.

I thought his getaway was pretty slow down the freeway...
