Okay, discounting the 1 in 2 billion DNA linking OJ to the scene, his ludicrously suspicious behaviour before during and after the event, who did then? And why has absolutely no one tried to find the “real” killer since? Because they already have.
It's interesting to see Robert Kardashian's face when the verdict is read. He actually looks shocked and somewhat disappointed by the decision. Even though he was on Simpson's defense team, Robert knew he was guilty.
You guys must not know anything about criminal defence lawyers. You are supposed to look stoic at all times in court. It doesn't matter whether they think their clients are guilty or not. Most lawyers definitely think their client is guilty. They will defend them to the very end that is one of the pillars of our justice system.
Robert Kardashian must have been haunted to the end of his life at that verdict. I can't imagine defending someone who was so obviously guilty, and used to be a close friend.
@PincoPallino-zh8wm Apparently, there is one, 9 to 33 year sentence for a non violent first offense followed by Cancer, hospice and death. Can't escape it. 🤷🏼
No one will ever forget where they were when they heard this read off. I was arriving at work and was late getting in, where I looked over in the parking lot where a guy was doing what I was doing, listening to this on the radio. When the verdict was read off we just both looked at each other in a suspended state of disbelief.
White America I understand how you feel. The thing about Furman being a racist and lying on the witness stand please stop it.Whoever heard of such a thing. 🐖 🐖 I mean police lying on suspects. Especially if the 🐖 I mean police was white. I'm an African American male and it sounds crazy. This is the narrative that African-Americans have been going through for the past 500 years. There are African Americans that are innocent doing life, that have been executed and the prosecutor and the judge knew the police were lying and still sentenced innocent men and women. Its sad that that happens to anyone. All the folks that are still tripping about the verdict, WELCOME TO THE CLUB. Maybe they'll do that for Ronald and Nicole. Will that make you happy??🤔 YEAH RIGHT.
Robert renewed his law license the second O.J was being accused. Nobody knew exactly what evidence was on O.J until 2-3 months later. It is unethical for a lawyer to drop his client in the middle of a case, that almost causes an automatic guilty verdict for your client. When the bag thing became a big story too, I bet that was part of the decision for Rob to go on the team, they can't make a client's lawyer testify. This was a nasty situation for all parties.
This This is why I don’t understand the outrage in Parkland over that shooter being spared the death penalty. They acted like he walked free like OJ or Emmitt Till’s killers
@@joeyjoejoe314 I’m just saying it’s ridiculous that they complained about Cruz not getting the death penalty, judging from their reactions you would’ve thought he got acquitted and would get no consequences but that’s not the case at all. Even if he got the death penalty, it would take over 10-20 years to administer not to mention it’s a lot more expensive to have. But he didn’t, he will serve the rest of his life in prison unlike OJ (not to mention Emmitt Till’s killers) who killed someone and didn’t serve any prison time I’m just saying that Ron & Nicole’s families as well as Emmitt’s had every right to be angry and upset because there was truly no justice or accountability in their cases.

0:20 How authentic was "The People vs. O.J. Simpson?" They replicated that misprononciation/stutter that Mrs. Robertson committed as she read the verdict. Now that's a 12/10 production!
They're replicating what is happening in reality..what kind of misogynistic racist are you? He didn't get as much coverage because he wasn't famous and police brutality has been and will always be an issue..
Mrs. Robertson said she mispronounced his name because she couldn't believe that the verdict said Not Guilty. It was a shock to her as it was to most of the american ppl.
Breaks my heart seeing Robert’s reaction. He defended his best friend assuming he wasn’t guilty, but it was too late to pull out once he realised he totally was.
From what I've heard, Robert Kardashian and O.J. Simpson did not remain friends following the trial. Judging from Kardashian's body language here, he was not at all on the same page as the defense team.
+Already Won White People Been Getting Away With Murder For Years ...In fact some are enjoying their grandkids and great grandkids having never been brought to due process, trial, and justice was never served or sought for that matter but your focused on this case....clean that...meaning your humanity. we all know what happened but given the circumstances an amazing trial with questionable circumstances.
Only if you believe in spooky superior beings. The truth is more likely that he'll turn to dust and that's it. In the end he got away with it. People should stop using God to avoid dealing with the fact that life sometimes isn't fair.
@@PincoPallino-zh8wmthere are people out there in the world who devote their lives to serving GOD, what would you go about telling them precisely?? And what would you tell me...that life is much more harmonious when people live by GOD, than when people choose not to?? Atheism leads to the implication that life is an extraordinary, yet completely pointless accident. I have one question; When did you lose your conscience? And if you don't have one, why should I not bring hardship upon you and/or your family??
I don't blame the lawyers. Everyone has a right to counsel. I think of is guilty as hell. But lawyers do what they do. And thank god we have them. Justice didn't work here. But we have the best system on earth. Thirteen million dollars from on didn't hurt either.
They all knew he was guilty. This was all for the money. I don’t think people realise how much money was put into this trial. We are talking millions and millions of dollars!
Robert Kardashian was not reacting to the verdict, he was reacting to Cochran’s outburst, which was highly inappropriate and unprofessional with the victim’s families sitting feet away.
Yes, unfortunately for him, he got caught in between. Initially he offered help for O.J because that was his buddy. Of course Rob Kardashian just wanted to make O.J wasn't being setup. As the trail went on, Rob started realizing, O.J may have done it but by then, Rob was too deep in. Removing himself from the defense team, would have caused alot of issues with him, his ex wife and kids. So Rob stuck it out.
It feels like a scene from a movie until the commotion stops and all you can hear is Ron’s families cries and then you remember that 2 people were actually murdered by this monster
You would think if he really "didn't do it"...then after he was found Not Guilty he would demmand an investigation into the death of his wife. Search for clues for who the killer may be...you know, sorta how he hunted down his precious memorabilia that caused him to get arrested, charged, and found guilty of.
Robert George Kardashian's reaction was of a man who just realised "When I die, I'm going to hell for getting him off for murder. That grieving family over there deserved justice."
I felt bad for Robert Kardashian he was really in a no win situation. His client gets off but he gets no justice for his friend Nicole. His face says it all.
Why would you feel bad for him? No one put a gun to his a head and forced him to represent Simpson. I’m sure he didn’t give a fuck what the verdict was he was just there for the paper.
Riley Ullsmith well if he’s friends with a geezer that kills his mrs and continues to be his friend after and even helps him get off with it in court then that says a lot about him.
It's not necessarily a no-win situation. Hypothetically, suppose OJ really were innocent and someone else were guilty, it would be justice for Nicole. If you were a victim of attempted murder, and you knew the wrong person went to prison for the crime, you would take it personally, living with the guilt that the wrong person is doing time for a crime against you. You would want to exonerate the innocent person even moreso than you would want to convict the guilty person.
Upon hearing he's "not guilty", O.J. gives a huge sigh of relief, and thanks the jury. If he was truly innocent, there would have been a notable trace of righteous indignation, or even anger, in his face once he heard the verdict.
*Unpopular Opinion* I don’t think Robert Kardashian’s face reacted to the verdict. I think he reacted to Cochran’s outburst cause it was COMPLETELY unprofessional. Understandable yes, but unprofessional too. When he turns he’s not looking at OJ. He’s looking at Cochran. When they read the second verdict, he knew OJ was in the clear so THEN turned and looked directly at OJ and you could make out a bit of a smile.
+Andrew Walker (awalk) I know. I mean they were friends and basically everything added up he was the victim. I mean since there friends of course he's gonna try and he probably this would go hard which like us was surprised and he just came back to being a Lawyer and I believe he stopped for awhile to. Damn! he would of made a lot of money clients such as celebrities, rappers, actors, etc.
+Andrew Walker (awalk) he was definitely shock...i just watched an interview with Kris K on the view and they replayed a clip of Barbara's interview with Robert K after the verdict and he said he had his doubts bc of the blood evidence.
We studied this case extensively in my criminal law class while I was in law school. Back in the early 1990's, DNA evidence was still a relatively new science and wasn't considered to be as nearly as conclusive as it is now. At least two of the jurors (maybe more) confused someone's DNA with someone's blood type. While it is very possible for two people to have the same blood type, the only way two people can have the same DNA is if they are identical twin. Therefore, the blood at the crime scene that had OJ's DNA could have only come from him unless he had a long lost twin. But a couple jurors thought that since many people have the same blood type, it was possible that the "real killer" just happened to have the same blood type as OJ.
No two individuals whether they are twins or not can not have the same DNA. Every human being that ever existed and will ever exist will have their own unique DNA.
@@Danimal1177 They share the same DNA material from their parents, but they are not genetically identical. For example, they do not have the same finger prints.
Here in the UK (8 hours ahead of California), this was broadcast live on the Six O’Clock News. I just couldn’t believe it. I remember how our newsreader was also very surprised.
This case was the first news story I recall hearing about as it happened. I would've been 6 or 7. However, let's make one thing abundantly clear: he was as guilty as sin. He was only acquitted because his lawyers absolutely blew the prosecution's arguments to smithereens, and several of the jurors later admitted they felt that way.
There was no “arguments” to be made. The DNA evidence and other witness testimony was clear as daylight. He got acquitted because his lawyers confused the dimwitted jury with a load of nonsense that they swallowed. And they were mainly Black women who didn’t care if a White bitch who stole one of their fellas got hers.
Was thinking the exact same thing. I wasnt even born when this happened but its unbelievable how you can find him not guilty. Jury should be ashamed that a murderer is being released from prison next year when they had the power to send him down for life.
+James ESS He's not necessarily being released from prison next year. He was sentenced to 33 years. 2017 is only a chance at parole. And I really doubt he'll get it.
MyRedPony1 I think the parole is only for the gunpoint robbery but he will still carry out the years of his kidnap charge. Thats what i just read anyway
MyRedPony1 So yeah, he probably wont be released next year but he should never be released. He would have served life if he was found guilty of a double homicide

I remember that day vividly. I was in the 11th grade, and went to a predominantly black school with a predominantly white faculty. That morning in homeroom, my classmates were discussing in anticipation. One of them asked for my input, to which I said that I think O.J. did it. They all ganged up on me at my desk and pounded on me, "You're supposed to be on OUR side!" The verdict was announced during lunch period. Almost everyone was equipped with Walkmans, including one of the seniors who stood up victoriously with his fists in the air and gleefully shouted, "Not guilty!" which sent the whole lunchroom into a cheerful uproar. After the bell rang, a bunch of sophomore girls were "Tootsie Roll" line-dancing down the hallway while chanting "Not guilty" in unison.
I think that nowadays he wouldn't get so much praise. There are much better models for the black community than a wife beater who dated white women... And we also have to consider the time period, the 1992 absurd was just too big. Still, US is a really fucked up place that I would never want to live in. Especially if I were black.
+Nautilus1972 anyone with common sense knows if you soak leather gloves in blood they will shrink, and he was taking some kind of medicine that made his hands swell so that would make it even harder for him to get his hands into them.
I strongly believe he did it, but I do respect the so called "Reasonable doubt". The prosecution made big unforgivable mistakes, and underestimated the celebrity with great popularity who could afford big star lawyers. They thought they could easily win the case, and therefore wasn't careful enough. They didn't thought race would be relevant, but it did. These are the reasons why O.J. got away with the murders: 1. Johnnie Cochran played the race card over and over again to make the jury believe O.J. was framed by the LAPD. They were very unpopular by the African-american citizens because of the racial victimization at either the time or the past. 2. The defense proved that the cop who found the bloody glove, Mark Fuhrman, was extremely racist, based on voice tapes including racial comments said by Fuhrman. This made the possible frame more believable for the jury. When asked if he had planted or manufactured evidence, Fuhrman invoked his Fifth Amendment instead of answering "no". This surely made the jury believe he was lying. 3. The case has been described as the most publicized criminal trial in American history. It was also a very sensitive case since O.J. was black and his ex-wife was white. Again, the race card was played. The jury might have believed there would be another riot if O.J. was found guilty. Again, the fault was on the LAPD. 4. The DNA evidence was too new at the time and the jury refused to take it seriously since they couldn't comprehend the new technique. 5. The glove didn't fit. "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit". 6. The prosecution didn't mention O.J. attempt to flee the country. In fact, they didn't even mention the Bronco chase. 7. The prosecution didn't have the murder weapon. 8. O.J. only had one single small cut wound on his hand, which didn't really make sense for the jury. Committing such a brutal murder should result a lot more blood on the offender. Also, the glove didn't have any cuts at the very same spot as O.J.s hand. 9. Prosecutor Marcia Clark had private issues at the time and didn't have the power to fulfill her duty at the very most. (I think she even met with sexist attention by the public) 10. It might be possible that the jury was mistreated during the time of trial. This might has caused them to lose their respect for the community, giving them a reason to vote not guilty as a protest. If I was in the jury's shoes, I would have believed O.J. did it. But thinking of the faulty system and the lack of competence from the prosecution, it would be impossible to not consider the theories brought by the defense. With that in consider, it would not be so simple to vote guilty. The jury wasn't morons, they had the effect of the verdict in mind. If I voted, this is what I would have thought: Am I going to send one murderer to prison and let millions of life be in danger of possible riots? Or am I going to set one murderer free to prevent lives being in danger and hope the system would improve to not making mistakes again? It was all about "Reasonable doubt" that made Simpson found not guilty. The prosecution failed to prove O.J.s guilt. The system failed to help the prosecution to win. So this is my opinion. If you have anything to argue or discuss with me, feel free to reply my comment.
Don't forget, at the time of this trial, the LAPD just had several white police officers acquitted after the beating of Rodney King (A black man) despite video evidence of the brutal beating.
There were several details they took liberties on earlier in the series for dramatic effect but the verdict episode was incredibly accurate - down to the minute detail. Loved how they worked in actual footage of people waiting for the verdict and the cast shots. Beautifully done.
Oj was innocent. His son Jason did it. OJ covered for his son who was a chef (access to knives) with bipolar /rage disorder who previously assaulted a ex girlfriend. Jason was expecting his ex stepmom Nicole and the kids to arrive to dinner at the restaurant he worked and they were a no show. Pissed off and off his meds and prone to rage issues he went there, they opened the door because they know who he is, and he attacked and killed them with his knives. Called his dad when he realized what he done.. People think he was joking but OJ wasn’t lying when he said he knew who the killer is but he can’t say who it is. it wasn’t him. It was his son. Look at Jasons emotional reaction after the car chase when he reunited with his dad. Jason was acting like a straight up guilty maniac and OJ hired an attorney for Jason immediately after Nicole’s death. His alibi was he was at work at the restaraunt even though he got off early that night

I think in the beginning Robert Kardashian really did believe his friend and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I'm sure like most of us if we were in that kind of situation, we would never believe someone in our life could be capable of that kind of horrific act. However, then as the details emerged throughout the investigation and trial he came to the realization that his friend was guilty. There was a great scene in the show "The People vs. OJ" where he wrestled with his conscious of wanting to leave the trial but knowing that ethically as his lawyer that would look really bad and would most likely convict him just on that alone. After playing him in the series, David Schimmer said after all the research he did, he believes that Robert Kardashian never fully recovered from the effects of the trial and I believe it.
