Paul Simon based his melody for AMERICAN TUNE on this hymn, but I don't remember it being noted in the credits.

So beautiful. I'm not religious and had never heard of this song. It was a commenter on a video of Paul Simon's "American Tune" that mentioned be borrowed this melody from this song. And in his recent performance with Rhiannon Giddens singing American Tune at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival, her rendition sounded like a prayer.
