Nice series thus far, thankful folks are kind and helpful enough to share these great tips and their experience to the folks just gettin' into the field! Very minor thing though, the title says Srch instead of Arch. Doubt it'll mess with the search terms much, but just noticed and wanted to let ya know ^_^

I agree on the hand saw James. For me it's just the natural feel of it. Maybe it's that I use it the most, but when it comes time to resaw I always reach for the 5 tpi

I generally use the hand saw up until around 10 in thick in that case I'll grab the frame saw.

I didn't think I'd like this design, but it looks great. I think seeing the work that has gone into it makes it more attractive. Fantastic work.

Beauty! That was fun to watch and genius demonstration on common joints with non-traditional angles as well as the lamination. Many things in my head solved with this video. Always obliged to you for these great videos my friend.

Would the legs not have a tendency to want to splay at the bottom? I'd be tempted to drawbore the arch bridle joints too.

Gravity will hold the arch nicely with a 200 lb top on it. there are more supports still to add to the back this is just the legs.

Where did you get your squares (combo, engineers, tri, etc) from?
@WoodByWrightHowTo
@WoodByWrightHowTo 4 года назад
Most of my squares I pick up at the estate sales but one of them I got at an MWTCA meet. I generally don't use combination squares I just don't trust them. But that's a personal preference if you're looking for antique tools I have a website set up to help you find them called handtoolfinder.com

@@WoodByWrightHowTo Thanks, I feel the same about combo squares but I've heard others say they love them. I'm just now really getting into woodworking and thought a tri square and engineers square would be what would get me through the majority of what I cut.

Because this is a hand tool channel and we teach people how to do things with hand tools.

Hi Wright, so, you use hand tools? But, you have electric tools to do the job easier in a more efficient? Right. So, you use hand tools to show us that you can do with only hand tools? I'm sorry but I think that not smart of time? Just cause you can , doesn't mean you should!!! Come on ,man But, I like your channel most of the time.. Thanks for sharing

I have a full power tool shop worth of tools, but for the videos, I always use handtools as I find those to be more fun. if I use a power tool I show it. Generally, the only time I use power tools is when I have to get the video out this week and I do not have the time to do it with hand tools.
