Really helpful video. I have had the OG prizm golf for many years and the lens treatment is wearing away in spots. Gonna try the Prizm Golf based on your recs as it's pretty sunny where I live.
Prizm is like seeing the world for the first time. It’s almost a sensory overload. I am having a great experience with Prizm Polorized sapphire and it’s amazing for sunny days spotting from the fairways. I am still waiting for the dark golf and golf prism get here. I’m struggling to find a cloudy day lens currently. I really don’t want to take one off the dome because I can’t see the ball.
Hey Scott! The PRizm Golf should do the trick for low-light & overcast condtions. I think you'll be shocked by the amount of detail and contrast achieved when playing. Let us know what you think when you get a chance to try them out!
A fantastic choice for the links! The sheer size of the lens provides more than ample coverage from harsh sun rays and the range of view gifts the player with near zero vision obstruction. There have been a few criticisms about the placement of the piece connecting the nosepad to the frame chassis as it can sometimes be a distraction, but overall an excellent frame for Golf 🏌️♂️
Switched darks to regular. Significantly better for golf imo. A little better pop of colors in bright condition, but usable in lower light. Nothing worse than having to take your glasses off in a twilight or intermittent cloudy day. You know as golfers, we don’t need any excuses, but that really does have a negative effect for me.
I have an astigmatism and if I wear sunglasses it kills my proprioception and depth perception to the point of nausea. The curved leans makes me feel almost drunk. I’ve always struggled with Depth perception playing golf. I can’t really determine how far something is away. The background looses its contours when I look off in the distance. I can only tell near, far, by how tall things are in the distance. After a few hundred yards it looks like I’m looking at a painting and not quite present. Sunglasses make it feel like I’m seeing through a fishbowl. I can barely make contact.
The Prizm Golf or Dark Golf lens would be sufficient for hiking as they use the same base tint as the Prizm Trail. There's a few differences in the dye recipe but they are somewhat similar and should work well on and off the trail.
100%! The Prizm tech combined with a rose base highlights specific colors while muting others to create more contrast, making it easier to spot and track the ball in flight.
It will not hurt you at all! In fact, PRIZM Golf is a great substitute to PRIZM Field. Both lenses function similarly but Golf is a just a bit more fine-tuned for golf. Thanks for reaching out!
when I customize my JAWBREAKER LENSES, there is no PRIZM GOLF LENSES, which is the closest or the same lense for Jawbreaker? I want that lense in jawbreaker, thanks
Hello! They're similar in that they both have a rose base tint. Though the tint intensity, lens tech, and mirroring are different. Both options will enhance color & contrast in your surroundings.
They are somewhat similar, however the Prizm Golf and Dark Golf provide a bit better contrast on the course compared to the Prizm Road. Specifically in the ability to read the contours of the fairways and greens.
Hello! It largely depends on the strength of your prescription and what you intend to use the frames for. The stronger the Rx, the fewer frame options you'll have to choose from, generally speaking. When it comes to progressives, a larger lens doesn't always mean you'll get more viewing area. If we're talking about frames for sport, specifically golf, we encourage choosing single vision over progressives or multifocal lenses to achieve a wider viewing area with less distortion throughout the lens. This helps a lot when you're looking out of the corner of your eye to line up a shot. However, if you're heavily dependant on the reading portion of a progressive lens to see your phone or view a scorecard, then it's good to stick with a multifocal lens. Below you'll see links to our top frame picks for golf, but you can also give us a call to speak with a live optician who can help with selecting the right frame and lens for your needs. Hi Eddie! We would recommend PRIZM Golf or PRIZM Field. Both lenses are designed for on-field play and will greatly increase contrast and help you see more definition on the field.
Hi Rob, how does prizm golf (30% VLT) perform in a skiing low light condition? How does it compare to the snow saphire, rose or hi pink. I'd like to have an option of wearing prizm sunglasses under a pair of ski goggles (either clear or green for lowlight). The Wind Jacket 2.0 dont fit under goggles to be useful on windy overcast/whiteout days. Thanks
Hi there! We wouldn't recommend wearing glasses under goggles. Instead, if you need an rx option we can make you a custom rx insert to fit in your Oakley PRIZM snow goggles. Check out more information on our insert here: www.sportrx.com/shopby/product_type-prescription_inserts.html
Thanks for your reply. I don't need to wear prescription glasses for skiing. Just want to have an option of switching prizm glasses quickly and prizm snow lenses don't come in sunglasses other than the wind jacket 2.0. So just wondering if prizm golf would be any almost as good as prizm snow for skiing in cloudy and whiteout conditions. Thanks
Are the golf prizm lenses non-polarized? I bought a pair awhile back but didn’t realize that you should not wear polarized lenses while golfing so now I’m curious if mine are or aren’t. Thanks in advance!
Hi my dad plays golf, but has prescription on top of macular degeneration. Seeing if there is a good pair of golf sunglasses which can help both issues or no? Thanks
Hi Vince! PRIZM Dark Golf has a rose base like PRIZM golf but is a slightly darker lens. PRIZM Dark Golf is more similar to Oakley G30. Hope this helps!
Hi Jessica! The Prizm Trail uses a similar dye recipe to that of the Golf and Dark golf but with a higher VLT (36% compared to 22% DG & 30% Golf). Depending on light conditions, it would certainly be suitable for the golf course. Preferably overcast and cloudy conditions.
Why would you be playing music when I’m trying to listen to the dialog. It makes it harder to hear the dialog which why I’m listening to this. Lose the music.
Hi Jerry! You will not be at a noticeable disadvantage. PRIZM Golf is the most optimal but you will still get good contrast enhancement for PRIZM Field. The main difference between the lenses is the amount of visible light coming through the lens to your eyes. PRIZM Golf allows twice as much light through the lens to your eyes. PRIZM Dark Golf is between Field and Golf but Field is still darkest at 15% VLT. You can learn more about PRIZM Sport lenses here: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-sport-lens-technology/
Hey Ben! Unfortunately Oakley doesn't make Prizm lenses for that specific frame Model, BUT there are other single shield frame options that do! www.sportrx.com/oakley-radar-ev-path.html www.sportrx.com/oakley-jawbreaker.html
Hi there! Often times our opticians recommend PRIZM Field. However you can always contact them directly for more information on what would be best for the specific conditions you will be in: www.sportrx.com/contact
Bought the Prizm Golf Flak 2.0 and the lenses are completely ruined. The inner coating peeled off almost completely.I never cleaned with anything more than water and mild soap. And replacement lenses cost $80. No more Oakley for me,
Hi Dondeestacionar.com! We are sorry you had a bad experience. Check out our website at SportRx.com we have a 2 year warranty on all Oakley authentic lenses.
Hi Kevin! Yes, PRIZM Dark Golf has some versatility to it-Rob speaks to this in our PRIZM Dark Golf lens review: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--pRbic5nlIs.html&feature=emb_title
