1. Be Here Now 2. Whats The Story Morning Glory 3. Definately Maybe 4. Don't Believe The Truth 5. Standing In The Shoulders of Giants 6. Dig Out Your Soul 7. Heathen Chemistry Our top 2 songs are the same tho
Funny how different people are. I love Be Here Now, it's probably my favorite after Definitely Maybe, as good as Whats the story. Every album after that was total rubbish IMO. Any b-side off the first three albums is better than the best tracks on the last few. Be Here Now was the last good thing they ever did, after that it was all downhill. Just my unpopular opinion, of course.
1. Definitely Maybe - Perfect 10/10. A Classic. 2. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? - Not as cohesive as DM, but still a 10/10 record. 3. Be Here Now - 8.5/10 Bloated, and overproduced but I think that's part of the charm. I love this album. 4. Don't Believe the Truth - 8.5/10 Great flow start to finish. It's tight and clean. 5. Heathen Chemistry - 8/10 - Still pretty good, but too many forgettable tracks. 6. Dig Out Your Soul - 7.5 - First half is great, but the back half is pretty weak. 7. Standing On the Shoulder of Giants 6.5/10 - Too many bad songs. Little James/Put Your Money Where Yer Mouth Is/I Can See a Liar simply aren't good enough to be on an album.
I’m glad im not the only person who thinks heathen chemistry is one of their better albums, always thought it was one of if not the best modern Oasis album. Still can’t believe you put Be Here Now and Shoulder of Giants so low they are 2 of my favourite albums ever! Fair list tho
I’d go 8. Don’t Believe the Truth 7. Dig out your soul 6. Heathen Chemistry 5. Shoulder of Giants 4. Morning Glory 3. Be Here Now 2. Definitely maybe 1. The Masterplan
Oasis are my favourite band and the reason I am into music. They changed my life. I enjoyed this video and it was very well balanced. Good commentary and critique was reasonable and all sensible too. My Oasis album ranked: 1 WTSMG 2 Definitely Maybe 3 Be Here Now 4 Don’t Believe The Truth 5 SOTSOG 6 Heathen Chemistry 7 Dig Out Your Soul With both HC and DOYS half the album is amazing, half the songs are right up there - but the lesser songs are very weak and just not good enough for Oasis’ standards. Still, DOYS at 7th is a pretty good listen - it’s a different sound, style and vibe but the five great songs are wow (Shock of the Lightning, Falling Down, Waiting for the Rapture, The Turning, Bag It Up) Oasis are brilliant
Yeah I can't take anyone seriously when they say 'Be Here Now' is the worst Oasis album. If that's the worst Oasis album then everything that came after is complete rubbish😂.
@@SK-qu4wo to be honest since making this comment i think standing on the shoulder of giants is a better album than be here now but be here now is still second place and far from bad
My Controversial ranking of Oasis albums: 1. Definitely Maybe (1994) 2. Dig Out Your Soul (2008) 3. Heathen Chemistry (2002) 4. The Masterplan (1998) 5. Don't Believe the Truth (2005) 6. Be Here Now (1997) 7. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) 8. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000)
Be here now is they worst album, songs are too long, the album is too loud, there are a couple of good songs and that's it,it would be better if they made the third album something like between the first two albums.
1: What’s The Story, Morning Glory? 2: Definitely Maybe 3: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants I can’t be sure about the rest…. Although I’d put The Masterplan under these three if I counted it….
1. Definitely Maybe 2. (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? 3. Be Here Now 4. Don’t Believe the Truth 5. Heathen Chemistry 6. Dig Out Your Soul 7. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants
1. Morning Glory 2. Definitely Maybe 3. Dig Out Your Soul 4. Be Here Now 5. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants 6. Don't Believe the Truth (i often forget this album's existence but I have actually listened to it) 7. Heathen Chemistry
I think you are being a bit lazy not Ranking Masterplan Album and excluding those songs from your top ten list, especially if you knew the story behind that album. . I was shocked at first that Be here now was last, but you are right it doesn't work as an album, even though individually there are some great songs.
I don't do compilations on any of these lists as it muddies the water a bit. I like Acquiesce and The Masterplan a lot but those songs still don't make my list. Whatever is on the list, though. That was a non-album track.
10. Heathen Chemistry 9. The Masterplan 8. Definitely Maybe 7. Be Here Now 4. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants 3. Don’t Believe the Truth 2. Dig Out Your Soul 1. (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
1. Definitely Maybe 2. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? 3. Dig Out Your Soul 4. Don't Believe the Truth 5. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants 6. Heathen Chemistry 7. Be Here Now...
My controversial personal ranking. This ranking is “fav to least fav” not “best to worst” if that makes sense. 1. Standing on the shoulder of giants 2. What’s the story morning glory 3. Dig out your soul 4. Definitely maybe 5. Heathen Chemistry 6. DOnt believe the truth (but “a bell will ring” and “importance of being idle” almost brings it up a spot) 7. Be here now I love literally every album. I don’t dislike any. Worst = the least good.
Pretty much the way I see it pal. Well done good review. I would have put Be Here now a touch higher but your points about the album are spot on. Too noisy and over produced. When I first heard my big mouth I just skipped past it after 30 seconds.
7,Dig out your soul 6, Don't believe the truth 5, standing on the shoulder 4,Be here now 3, Heathen chemistry 2, (What's the story) morning glory 1, Definitely maybe.. Although the bottom 3 could be in any order they're all crap.
'Be Here Now' pretty much ended any thought that Oasis were the greatest band of the period and though I have heard pretty much all they recorded my perception has not changed since, they are just Ok with some fantastic songs and two classic albums at the start of their career... Liam's voice also really grates with me after a while... My preferred bands of the era are The La's ( A little before but they did give rise to Cast), Cast, Dodgy, Shed Seven, Trash Can Sinatras, Catatonia & Pulp etc!... Nicely done with your assessment of the albums... My Top 10 songs... 10... Morning Glory... 09... The Hindu Times... 08... Songbird... 07... Talk Tonight... 06... Cast No Shadow... 05... She's Electric... 04... Half The World Away... 03... Don't Look Back in Anger... 02... Champagne Supernova... 01... The Importance Of Being Idle...
1. Definitely Maybe, the undoubted classic 2. What's the story morning glory, another classic but seems a little more rushed some of the songs repeat their verses. 3. Dig out your soul a banger of an album the hard groove of it is almost hypnotic. 4. Don't believe the truth a great sort of kinks esque mod album sound. 5. Be Here Now good album a bit overblown but seems like the last time the band was happy. 6. Heathen Chemistry has some good singles like Hindu times and Stop crying your heart out, however it also has some plodders like born on a different cloud and better man. Liam's vocals aren't great in this album either. 7. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants They sound hungover on this album and lack the positivity of the previous albums, this also seems to be where Liam's voice is at its weakest in the 7 albums. Having said the f'ing in the bushes and Go let it out are great tunes.
Great video! I love that absolutely everyone who ranks this discography has a different opinion. I ranked them a few months ago and my list is all.iver the place. Subscribed!
Everyone has your own list. Mine should be something like that. But it change year by year. 1. The Masterplan 2. Whats the Story 3. Heathen Chemistry 4. Be here now 5. Standing on the shoulder of giants. 6. Definitly maybe 7. Dont believe the truth 8. Dig out your soul
