It's all PR... talking shit about the lead singer of the band that brought you fame wouldn't be wise on a promo material that he is featured on. Once the camera is off, resume the smack talk as usual
I noticed a change in Noel in this interview. His attitude towards his brother and the band. A mellowing. A love. A peace almost. Not felt in a long time.....
“- When I would sing the song, it would sound good, when he would sing it it would sound great -“. Thats so humble and clear-sighted of Noel. You can see he was always so freakin smart as a musician from the get go.
@@sharpvidtubeYes but with all the variables when it comes to song writing and being in a band in general, it’s nice to give the credit to what was a clear cut, humble decision. Even a smart arse like yourself would know that
Noel Gallagher is always one of the best interviews out there. He always delivers something insightful, inspiring, a bit snarky, but always entertaining.
He had to take a break from plagiarism to do the interview. Then he got back to ripping off songs by other more talented artists because he himself is a void.
I just realised the last line of this is a hint to the comeback ‘Sony didn’t decide Oasis would still be going after 30 years, Creation didn’t decide, I didn’t decide, neither did Liam, the fucking people decided’
Noel ain't doing it for the people, hes doing it for the money! If it was for the people he would have made the comeback years ago when it actually mattered
@@ThePc-DjHubIt does matter and maybe he wanted to accomplish stuff on his own with the solo project. He’s still got the affinity for songs and that’s all that matters ❤
I am from Japan. I used to listen to your songs while I was riding a bike to my high school. Not knowing what Liam and Noel was saying, but Everyday I was listening. The music itself had magic. As I learned English I gradually understood what each songs were about and it all made sence. I am glad that you guys are back together. Looking forward to see what this new start brings in the future.
I'm not a fan of anything except Oasis, and since Oasis broke up, I haven’t been able to listen to their songs anymore. I’ve listened to High Flying Birds, Beady Eye, and everything new, but not their old songs... It was something very heavy on my heart. Today, I relive those days.
Best interview Noel has done in years. Like a weight has been lifted. John robb is an excellent man and journo and you can see the respect and regard Noel holds him in. Great stuff
Watching this now knowing Noel and Liam have spoken again for the first time in 15 years just fills my 42 year old heart with such joy. I stayed up until 2am here in Illinois just to hear the announcement so I'd know it was real before I went to bed. Not gonna lie, I cried a few tears of joy there in bed while listening to BBC radio 6 live from across the pond. What a beautiful time we get to live in. I hope they come to America so I have the chance to see them live for a 4th time.
Apparently they've been talking since last year. This must have been in the pipeline for a while because Heaton Park is a public space and the dates there would have needed local council approval which is notoriously slow in coming as risk assessments and security plans have to be submitted before hosting a large event there can even be considered. I would say it's almost certain there will be a North America leg added to the tour. No doubt Netflix or Amazon have already offered them a truckload of money for a documentary so I can't see the US not being included. It says on their website that dates outside Europe are currently being planned so I would imagine that the lawyers are still ironing out the merch and broadcasting deals.
Liam’s ability to nail songs in 1-2 takes is what impresses me the most. His habits & techniques weren’t great and I don’t know if he was ever truly professionally coached. It was just raw natural talent and a voice that can’t be duplicated
Same. I especially remember the documentation where they said about the Morning Glory sessions "Noel and Liam had this strange thing going where Noel would sing the song to Liam only once, then heads off to watch some TV and Liam would just sing it."
Yeah its a interesting thing.I guess hes very leveled and grounded as a person.people who have issues will often have this coming out somewhere or another in their "aura".Noel is just allaround sound :)
I've heard loads of Noels interviews but in this one it seems like he's not showboating. He sounds at ease. Maybe it's the interviewer because it seems as though they are friendly.
Also, this interview is in Burnage, where he grew up (and me too), in a record shop he used to go to as a kid, and literally about a 10 minute walk from his Mum's house, which is the same one him and Liam grew up in. He's at home.
"The people decided". That's it. Perfect. Oasis blew my 16 year old mind back in 1994. My 13 & 11 year old daughters have discovered them now. Partly through me, partly their own. Timeless.
I’m American and listened to punk like Ramones and Black Flag. I heard Oasis in a small record shop in 94 and have been a huge fan ever since. Through Oasis I learned about The Stone Roses, The LA’s and The Jam. Hope they do a US tour, I have never seen them live, but In the early 2000’s I saw them at In N Out burger in Barstow, Ca when they were eating on tour.
Man, the excitement i feel, when getting some new quality content from Oasis is a beautiful thing… something so special about this band, you can’t quite pin point it, but their music, that time, is just magical. Takes me to place inside that i can’t describe… MAD FER IT! 🙌 Long Live OASIS
Proper old school record shop is Sifters. Was there a couple years back and had a brief conversation with Paul the owner who genuinely seemed proud as punch to see what Noel and Liam went on to become. Records are cheap as chips and the selection is excellent. Get down and support it if you can!
Noel seems different here, iv never believed the rumours for years but I think this is as close as we have been since the breakup. Liams voice is absolutely mega and he’s smashing it, I think Noel has realised. They would sound absolutely amazing back on stage together!! Get it done lads!!!
I'm 51 bought definitely maybe on the day it was released and was a fan back in the day, then I got older, moved on had kids, same job now for 21 years, my son was born in 04 and over the last couple of years has discovered Oasis for himself and is a way bigger fan than I ever was, he's been damn near praying for a reunion since we saw blink 182 together in Manchester last year, I told him it'd probably never happen, yet here we are and here we go, going to do everything I can to get us both tickets for the reunion next year, it means something different but the same to both of us music is important like that, I think we forget how much sometimes.
reunion is coming. no doubt about it. noel's attittude towards the band and liam is completely different than in previous vids. people i'm hyped and mad fer it
Because they got offered a cheque they'd be stupid to say no to. They're not suddenly best friends. They put their differences aside for a fucking massive payday. They're not the first band to do it and won't be the last.
They turned down over 100 million more than 10 years ago and I believe Noel wouldn't have reunited for any amount of money back then. Something other than just money has at least got the brothers back on speaking terms.
Singing in a band with your brother and mates, thats as good as it gets! Oasis were definitely a band of the people, no pretenciousness, completely real and genuine, thats why there is so much connection STILL with their fans. BTW Finsbury Park, London 2002 opening night...I was there, it was a trancendental experience!
I think it's more important that Noel and Liam make peace not for us, but for themselves. Family and loved ones are the most important thing. Thank u so much for creating immortal music.❤
I remember, as a dorky teenaged American layabout, seeing a clip on MTV in 1994 of the band playing "Supersonic", and it just lodged in my brain like a bullet -- just from a 10 second clip. It didn't make me a fan at the time -- I enjoyed what I heard from them on the radio as the 90s progressed, but I never bought an Oasis record or thought much about them as I grew into adulthood. Then a few years ago, I went looking for that song again, and fell head over heels for Definitely Maybe, the rest of their catalog, and their story. This summer, at age 44, I flew to England for the first time in my life to see Liam play this record in Manchester. It was unbelievable. And seeing how hard it hit everyone around me in that arena made it even greater. Why does it have this effect on people? Idk, but it does. Long live Oasis.
Go and see Oasis if you get the chance my friend, There is a reason they were/are so popular. Their live music is a force of nature and the crowd vibe is next level.
No album ever recorded comes close to Definitely Maybe. The first two seconds of every single song are immediately identifiable and transport you to somewhere special. This is a great piece. Fascinating from start to finish 👏
The fact that their b slides could be another perfect album, plus i'd argue what's the story morning glory is as phenomenal and heathen chemistry. Not many bands can create so many perfect singles and songs.
I think now its pretty CLEAR what we're bound to see. Hasn't heard Noel so full of nostalgy AND will to go back to the good old swagger in ages. It is really emotional. The tequila/Guiness analogy is timeless, this is f*cking Oasis spirit, it has never left the house, and now i think is BACK.
you will be crying even morre, they are getting back together for next yrs Glastonbury plus some wembley gigs....watch this space...it was noels wife who was holding it back but she's gone and she wants all his money....its finally going to happen
warms my heart to see Noel finally complimenting liam ❤ I'm sure liam would be SO happy to hear these words from his big bro as it's a rare occurance that he speaks so fondly of him like this 😢❤
He's always known the qualities that Liam possess, but in the height of the fallout he wouldn't give him the time of day. There's definitely been a mellowing on Noels part.
@@sharpvidtube its only a few times really. most of the time he tries to belittle him and his importance to oasis and it only got worse after the breakup :/
I just wanted to say that I met a great friend in 1995, online, who lives across the U.S. and she’s still a friend of mine. Our mutual love for Oasis and the Beatles brought us together. We still love those old songs! I have a ton of respect for all of them! 😊❤
Concerts. I was at the Hydro in Glasgow, more than half the crowd were teenagers, like we were back in the day. Great to see such amazing music carrying on through the generations. True what they say, great music is timeless.
This makes me so happy, to see Noel chat in a positive way about his brother and about the best band in the world. The world needs oasis to get back together and the songs need to be played again to the people that love them. Nostalgia hits hard with the descriptions of how these treasured songs were crafted. The demo versions being released are wonderful as a fan to listen to something new and unheard before. To get the vibe and attitude along with the perfect singing sums up the mood at the time. To have these songs sung live together now would be mind blowing, epic and even biblical.
John Robb is cool as fuck - proper man about town in Manchester- met him a few times and he’s always chatty and a sound bloke who’s really respected in the music scene and particularly in Manchester
Noel nails part of the chemistry here, it's the combination of his and Liam's voices. It can't be replicated outside Oasis. So come on lads, you know what to do🙏
I can't belive the worlds out of Noels mouth. It is not "The Other Fellow" or "The Singer". It is "Liam", and he keeps saying how amazing rock singer he is. Never took a single jab at him...and watching Liams recent interviews, you can see he misses Noel....
They experienced something few people in the world ever experence, but at the end of the day, they are brothers. Now that the ex-wives are out of the picture I think Noel is realising how much Liam means to him.
@@surfguy87 I only hope they get to be brothers again at some point. Not spoken to mine in 2 & half years so know what it’s like. Don’t want Oasis back together, your never beat Earls Court ‘95 or Knebworth.
The timeline suggests him and Liam finally made up and met in March / April so it checks out why he's being so nice about Liam in this. He knew the reunion was on.
This is the best interview I’ve seen from Noel for a long long time. Honest, insightful, peaceful, no shades and no persona. A man at peace, no longer at war and I’m all for it 😉
he did the same thing when talking about the 25th anniversary of what's the story. Only Be here now he criticised him because he left him to record the vocals and went on holiday for 3 weeks and came back and liam had done nothing. Basically forced them to record the vocals in 3 days.
Saw Oasis 12 times live spanning from 1996 to 2007. Then Noel solo 3 times in Houston, TX. It's the soundtrack to my life growing up. My sons (18,19 &22) are all huge Oasis/Noel/Liam fans, like Noel says, the songs are timeless and hopefully my 3yr old son will also grow up to love the music.
We need a picture of Liam and Noel with their mum. She tried so many times to get them talking again. Would be great to see a happy picture of all three of them together again. I had a ticket for Knebworth and decided not to go as we didnt have anywhere to stay. Mates ended up sleeping in their car and had the best weekend ever. I hope I am lucky enough to get tickets this weekend. Good luck everyone!
The best way to exploit sales of this new edition is to announce the night before (coincidentally the anniversary of the band's separation) that they are returning in 2025!!!
2:51 Noel has always acknowledged that, more than he actually needs to really. And there are many artists who never acknowledge it about their own writing 😂
Looking at all the comments now the news is out. HUGE! We all had hope and now it’s finally happening. As a 24 year old, growing up listening to Oasis and never having the chance to see them live, this is absolutely a dream come true. Let’s have it, R kid.
@@cuckooflower Its not. A small record shop would simply not have survived in that area that long, specially as it doesn't look a great shop stock wise. Probably just enough tourists/fans visiting and buying something have just about kept it going, still amazing its still going however he's managed it.
This is a great watch, Noel showing such humility in recognising his Brother's ability and contribution to the band. I hope Liam sees this, I'm sure he will, even if they don't reunite, as a fan from day one it would just be great to see them as mates again.
I wish the Gallagher brothers could come together privately, away from the cameras, away from the hype, over a cup of tea and just acknowledge what they did together, they took over the world
They do! 3rd Sunday of every month at Peggy’s for Sunday roast. Unless any of them are gigging/on tour. Liam washes, Noel dries and Paul puts away. Telling ya 😂😂
Credit to John Robb for getting some gold out of Noel here. Great interview with some fantastic nostalgia. You can sense there's a bit more peace with Noel and Liam's relationship here and some excitement for what's to come. Buzzing for next year!
I still remember listening to Definitely Maybe on my Sony Walkman every single day. I was only 12 when the album came out and that album taught me so much. I have no life experience as a 12 year old but Noel put his life experience in those songs. After 1 listen I knew how special that album was. DM has been there for me through the highs and lows of life. The way Noel is able to take such simple lyrics and make them so profound is an amazing gift that he's blessed with.
Oh they def will. They can go do 4 gigs and make insane money then say piss off again. The coffers gettin thin and the lads will be back mark my words. Just don’t get tickets for the 5th gig cause they’ll have had an argument by then ha
Both brothers playing to huge crowds that all want Oasis.. seriously.. imagine they announced a reunion tour, the numbers would explode!!! .. great interview 🤘🏼😎
Cool interview. John Robb is a respected musician who's been around for years, and I think this helped, because it's more like two peers chatting rather than a dry Q&A.
