These guys are such an important band for me!. Oasis (and Britpop in general) were the soundtrack of my 20's. It opened up a gateway to so much more music and expanded my listening tastes. Liam's voice was phenomenal and I have so much fun with them, but the songs I connected with on a deep emotional level have always been sung by Noel. Now that I am older this song in particular really hits me in the feelings for some reason. Music doesn't generally move me to tears but a month ago this came on randomly and whelp the emotions got the best of me. Damn you Noel G!

@Jun Yang @Liam Frampton - Being an OG Oasis fan from the mid-90s (i.e. their first two albums + singles from that early era), I was never personally a fan of their third album, or their later albums. So, those two songs were omitted deliberately from my 'faves' list. @Daniel Martinez - As for most of the other omissions, like Champagne Supernova, Talk Tonight, etc. Obviously, since they're from the 'early era' (i.e. imo the 'good era' I do like them - However, left them out as I don't think they'd make for the best reaction vids, even though they're also great songs). Perhaps, I should have included 'Fade Away' though, that's really a great and energetic track, lol. Magnificent-this song is now part of our DNA over here in the UK. This is Noel Gallagher singing lead vocals, normally it’s his brother Liam. They are both brilliant. Have you done Live Forever? And how about Pulp with Common People?

You can’t listen to Oasis without listening to Blur. Their rivalry in the 90s was like the UK’s national sport for a few years haha. I have to say, I was more of a Blur girl, but love Oasis almost as much ❤️

In my last job, I got to meet a lot of well known people but I have to say, I was quite star struck when Noel walked in. He has a presence; a bit intimidating, but polite. I had to call his wife once and who picked up the phone? Only Noel bloody Gallagher! Lol fun times. Definitely Maybe is a classic album, not one bad song.

Biggest band in Britain since the Beatles. Still waiting on something bigger. Another 25 year or so maybe. Their reunion would be the biggest ticket going. Best band I’ve ever seen live. The noise and swagger was something to behold. Peace out bud. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🖖

The title "Don't Look Back In Anger" is a direct reference to the David Bowie song "Look Back In Anger". Which notably is scattered with those guitar unison bend squeals that show up here and there in this song. And "I start a revolution from my bed" is most likely referencing Lennon & Ono's "Bed-In" thing.
@anitam7547
@anitam7547 3 года назад
Look Back In Anger was a theatre production in 1956. 'Angry young man' stuff. A film of it in 58ish. I don't know if Bowie was inspired by that though.

When they sing " I'm gonna start a revolution from my bed " they're referring to John and Yokos famous anti Vietnam protests for peace in 1969. Very controversial at the time as they were in bed for 2 weeks promoting PEACE ✌️

Great song! This brings so many memories, Brit Pop, optimism, hope and bloody great music! This song always makes me smile, Oasis were a great band. Yes, they were heavily influenced by The Beatles, Noel Gallagher openly admits it and there isn't anything wrong with that! I'm SO glad you enjoyed this. I can hear your passion for this song, and I am jealous that it's the first time you've heard it, as I remember the impact it had on me when I was young. When I saw that you had been listening to Coldplay, my first thought was "Hey, what about Oasis? Did he listen to them already?" and a couple of seconds later I saw this announcement! 😉👍 The album on which this track is on just had its 25th anniversary on October, 2nd, so it's a perfect coincidence! 😅 I'm an absolute die-hard fan of Oasis since the 90s and this will be a real treat. If I could make a wish, than I would ask you to especially listen to their live stuff from the 90s because they were on such a different level than anybody else. There are too many songs to recommend, but maybe check out "Live Forever", "Cast no Shadow", "Whatever"(!!) etc... Anyways, thank you SO MUCH for reacting to Oasis! I'm sure, if you would privately watch the Maine Road concert in 96, you would become another fan of Oasis - I feel that you're someone who could really connect with the way they gave their performances. ❤️

One of the most beautiful rock songs of all time right here! Noel’s voice on top of this composition. Layered guitars on point with the classic Oasis wailing, piano done just right with a hint of Lennon inspiration, drums perfectly laid back and rising when needed. Just musical perfection. As a diehard Oasis fan (Like practically every Northern Lad) it’s pretty much agreed that Wonderwall is their most overrated song. Yeah it’s good. But it being the song that most people outside of the UK know Oasis for is criminal. Especially when there’s songs like this, Live Forever, Champagne Supernova, Some Might Say, Lyla, Slide Away. And so many others that are a million times better
