I was born in '87, but I spent my school days listening mostly to the 60s, 70s and 80s. I can't help but be a snob with new bands my son likes.

My favorite song from them before Head over heels. I can't explain how this song affected me in the 80 when I was around 10, as poc living in the hood, it was unheard of to listen to music like this but I embraced it wholeheartedly among other genres that I still play to this day

This is one of my favorite songs of the 80's . This 1985 hit made it to number one on Billboard charts on June 8, 1985 and spent 24 weeks on the charts. Break It Down Again and Head Over Heels are 2 other songs worth a listen. The lyrics and the smoothness of this song are what makes this song so easy to listen to, a classic.

This was my childhood in the '80s. I get chills every time I hear it. It's not nostalgia, to me it's about freedom and finding your own way through life. I know TFF has said the song is more political than that, but I love it just the same.

British band, location film in California. I have a distinct memory of hearing this song for the first time, on local radio in Spring 1985, before I saw video on MTV. I knew that I had to get this record! I still feel happy, when I hear this song -I am never tired or annoyed -it brings only joy and majesty. 🎸☺️

You’re right, this was a full-on hit! These guys came outta no where and won us all over with this song back in. The 80s. They only had a couple more hits, one was “Shout!” But I think this still remains their biggest. I’ve never gotten tired of hearing it : )

They were already a hit in the UK and other counties by 1983 and America was introduced to them in 1984 when this song and Shout were released, America fell in love with them and they became the vibe of the eighties. Followed by Head over Heels and other great songs that followed.
@usfanlovesjiwoo1978

@@prappsy3028 It's not that, it's just they were not promoted in the US until 1984 and as soon as they were with this song and Shout, the US fell in love with them. I watched a documentary about them and until 1984, their manager did not market them in America and when he did the first song we heard became an instant hit.
