There is something truly captivating about this performance and some of the others from this time period, Liam’s voice is knackered and he is clearly struggling at points but the way he still gives it everything he’s got left is truly powerful he’s so full of passion on stage. The rest of the band are mega here technically as usual. I’m so glad Liam’s voice is healthier now and more reminiscent of the earlier days but I still fully enjoy this as a fan.
Not ashamed to say his performance brought a tear to my eye. 3:34 specifically. Liam really put his entire soul into every performance. He doesn't fuck around.
dk what everyone's complaining about, great version of the song considering the state Liam's voice was in at this current period. He is putting in so much effort here and it is all for the fans. Nobody seems to appreciate that.
This video always makes me feel sad because, in my opinion, Slide Away has Liam’s best vocal performance and he sounded heavenly in that recording but starting in the early 2000s, his voice got worse and it was especially noticeable in this song and it always upsets me to see his fall from grace as a singer so I hope he gets his mid 90s voice back as it is the best voice of the late 1900s, never mind the 1990s
Hey, my 'Yank' friend! (Even though we both hail from the Old South! Hehe) Glad another American Oasis fan out there agrees! I'll tell ya what, man...!! There's a Be Here Now Tour gig from Houston, or maybe Dallas(??) Regardless, I know it's Tx '98, Theatre at Bayou Place... That's a great gig, man! Especially considering the original lineup wouldn't tour America ever again! D'you Know What I Mean? & Live Forever stood out & the crowd really seemed up for it, too! Seemed like an awesome venue to see a band in! #TheMadFerItAmerican
To me this is when the band were least connected. Liams up for it but his voice is shot. Noel’s knows the bands at a crossroad and has handed lead guitar to Gem who just doesnt have the connection to the song like Noel. Andy wanted to be in oasis forever but he’s stuck in a band that’s falling apart.
