I understand Paula's denial, because she knew his much escalated depression (since becoming embroiled in her and Bobs public spats and child custody nastiness) plus her choosing to stay and fight Bob rather than bring just Tiger to see him was a nail in his coffin. He ached to see his baby Tiger and she chose to NOT come when she could have easily. Just like she easily came immediately when she was informed of his suicide. She is not a coroner.

The depression was likely the result of an injury Michael Hutchence suffered after a Danish taxi driver assaulted him in Copenhagen, in August, 1992. He had been behind Hutchence and Christensen who were on bikes and he had tried to pass them, with the couple being seemingly unaware of his presence because he didn’t sound his horn to alert them or anything, but became vexed when he couldn’t pass them, possibly believing that they were doing it deliberately. The driver completely overreacted, getting out of his taxi and he assaulted Hutchence: a blow to the side of the face sent him reeling backwards, off of his bike, where he smashed his head onto the floor. Hutchence was completely taken by surprise as he was attacked from behind. The driver, a coward, got back into his vehicle and drove off. He didn’t seek medical attention at the time, choosing to try and brush the incident off. But he eventually began to realise that something was wrong, and when he did seek medical attention a few days later, it was discovered that he had a fractured skull, from which he had received brain damage, leading to a couple of weeks in hospital. From the accounts of those who knew him, it’s obvious that after this incident, he was never the same ever again. He lost his sense of taste and smell and according to band members and other friends and associates, he became depressed and sometimes suicidal and at other times violent. On one occasion, he even threatened INXS band member Garry Gary Beers, with a knife. According to Beers, Hutchence became extremely fraught in Capri in 1993 when the group were recording Full Moon, Dirty Heart; he went on to state that over a six week period he confronted and threatened every one of the band members with violence. As far as I am aware the driver wasn’t traced and just for the sake of a few moments in traffic, ruined someone’s life. He’s the one that should be ashamed and even if he did get away with it, he will still have to live with the consequences that his lack of restraint had a devastating impact upon someone else’s life. Not that I’m an INXS fan, or even a massive Oasis fan. I just wanted to give a fuller picture, because there is a lot more to Hutchence’s state of mind over the years than is shown by this video.

@@alenaM7210 If you had bothered to read it properly, he attacked him for no other reason than that he couldn’t get through the traffic as quickly as he wished, thinking that Hutchence was deliberately blocking him. As for the brain injury, you know more than his ex-partner, Helena Christensen because it’s quite obvious that you were there and know the story. The assault wasn’t reported; that doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen. There are numerous assaults in various places every day which go unreported. Christensen says it happened. Were you there? Then you can’t contradict her. As for the violence to other band members, Beers has stated in the past that Hutchence brandished a knife at him, so you obviously have not looked into the story and do not know what you’re talking about, which is why I can’t be bothered to argue with someone who is being facetious. He seemed like a lover and supporter of all music and art, at least in the public eye. He was critical of politics and current events. So, I wouldn't be surprised if this was an interview egging him on about the MTV Euro awards incident, and MH being cheeky about it. Who knows? (Side note, Kensit is fearless (picture with MH wise)! I've just watched the documentary on Hutchence (Mystify) and nothing I've seen has changed my opinion. Michael was a great singer and INXS were a successful pop band but at the time he killed himself, he was absolutely washed up. He looked like a greasy middle aged mess going through a midlife crisis. Throw in the fact his terrible relationship breakup was being played out in public. I wasn't aware of the head injury but that appears to have contributed to his downfall. He clearly stopped taking care of himself though. It's a shame. I have no ill-feeling towards the guy, but he was a pub singer by the end. Best to remember him pre-Paula as well. God knows how many guys had been through her before Mad Mike decided he fancied a bit.

I get what you are saying, but I don’t agree entirely. For example, there have been too many tragic cases where young people committed suicide due to extreme bullying and other such harrowing experiences.

After his death, we met the band and had dinner with them at the Hard Rock Cafe in Madrid. The guys didn’t wanna talk about it, but a gesture Andy made towards me I’ll never forget. They were scared to discuss it. Both his hands were broken. Everyone that knows them know exactly what happened and who was responsible.
