The foreshadowing of you going to locations that didn't have what you use to love the whole time is crazy. Sometimes life naturally produces some amazing stories.
How a simple journey for a slurpee turned into an touching epic about lost moments in our past and how time waits for no man, arcade or manga cafe. I can relate to this whenever I travel back to old places. 20/10 would watch again.
A 10/10 tale of tragedy. Rivaling the charity biking streams of CDawgVA with insanely entertaining commentary. I laughed my ass off when you were too scared to enter the woods and the added 'dark root basin' had me rolling.
Props to the editor condensing dozens of hours into this video and it's so well done. The live stream was such an emotional rollercoaster, from the gutted arcades to frustrated bowling lady all the way to serene Beach side chillin. The best part for me was the 2 minutes of silence after "smoothies....?" followed by "we going to Okinawa, y'all!" The melon slurpee was just an excuse to have a journey and I'm happy to see he got to level 10 by the end of the month.
This is genuinely an INCREDIBLE video!! Obama's past history + his humour + his storytelling + the detours + the editing = a one of a kind journey for the history books. No one is putting out similar content nor can they cause this came from a a culmination of so many circumstances unique to Obama. Amazing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Man, seeing how you could bike that far out in Japan kinda has me a little sad at how much it sucks just to /explore/ back where I live in SoCal. Packed roads & highways everywhere it feels like. Insanely entertaining video with wonderful storytelling. Definitely gotta pull up to the stream if you ever do another one of these 😭
As someone from the Netherlands seeing Japan's cycling roads gave me several heart attacks. Made me think about the cycling roads in my little town and I realized there's a lot of random ass animals where I live like sheep and goats literally right next to the subway station. There's even this 1 random bull with no fence separating him from the road and that same road has more shit in volume than the entire continent of Africa. Great ass video keep up the good work king 👑
War and Peace... The Catcher in the Rye... Roots... the Bible... this Obamaquest is the modern-day hire to the greatest story ever told. The author, a man, made legend from the journey, not the end-goal. *golf clap...
This was amazing content. I was there for almost the entirety of the day one stream live and the first half of day two. Watched the VODs for what I missed and was devastated that the slurpee wasn't there. The sightseeing and riding along listening to the soundtracks in sync was fun. This was legit like a highlight of my year so far and can't wait for the next bike stream. Now some of my favorite content you have done, which is saying something cause I love your content. Thanks for moving those chains Majin Obama.
This was honestly a really entertaining watch. Always love your stories, but this trip was something special. Bummer on the slurpee tho...that broke my heart. Would love to watch more content like this.
"it's all n0pants games" LMAOOO I'm saving this shit for my day off tomorrow. This gonna be a good ass watch. I'm a sucker for first person japan tour vids, plus random ass inaka lore? Let's go.
Thanks for this incredible journey man, this was such a great video. Sorry you never got that slurpee :(, but it seems like it was still a very fun trip! This vid is like a shining example that no matter how much things change there is still joy to be found in everything. I look forward to the next adventure!
Can’t let it go another ten years before you do a ride again! Would love to see it become a yearly tradition, you know we here to support however you need.
Finally found the time to watch it and I can say for certain that this is an instant classic. It was basically going down memorial lane from your POV. I felt the "sad boy" moments and everything in-between like I was part of it too. The part after 25:40 had me dying, but you are also evil for those sound effects, I thought I was hearing things haha. I won't spoil the ending but all in all, I think the journey was worth it :)
This was beautiful to see. From the stories back then to an actual visit live on stream. Definitely gave that feeling of leaving home for so long and coming back getting the feeling of nostalgia and melancholy due to the changes. More power to you Obama
The GPS really be f'ing with Obama. From getting him all sad and nostalgic by biking past arcades into getting him to some creepy ass roads while being attacked by wild bug type pokemon.
10:00 it just dawned on me that at a certain point in the last several years, companies *stopped* releasing new fighting games in arcades, worldwide, much less Japan. Across every single IP and studio. Loketests happen at majors now. Or not at all. Fuck, man... Different time now.
Maybe I've just been hiking/biking more than the average person, but it's funny to me how Obama is so afraid of what looks like completely normal forest roads to me.
