Except for the midgies. :D I like it in early Spring and early Winter when it's too cold for the bugs to be around but the weather can still be nice, especially the former when there's usually still some snow on the mountains and most hills.
There is Channel called tiozinhos mochileiros, very nice to see, couple that travel around the world without reservation and destination. Real backpacker.

Travel there is highly restricted and I have been told that the locals are developing a fear of non-locals that I would say does not bode well for the tourism industry being able to restart, if it ever can for some. There are many small businesses which will struggle to survive an entire season with no visitors. I hope to go briefly to Arran next week (just to the south/west of Bute) to check over the state of my late step-Dad's house, unchecked since mid-Jan, so the potential for problems of degradation and even fire risk is a concern. I've finally just received a lawyer's letter which should enable me to go since I'm Executor for the estate, but the lawyer warned that right now non-locals are not welcome (a strange thing, I used to live there, even had my first job there working in a bicycle hire shop; until Jan this year I was going there about two weeks every month). I suspect their fears of a certain pathogen have been whipped up to unwarranted levels, not helped by media coverage of such bizarre incidents as this (though really not that many): www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-52947630 That's why I was so struck by your video, it all looked so... normal.
