24 years old, first pregnancy, no family history on either side of issues. Obgyn- “do you want to check for Down syndrome.” Me - “no, I don’t think so.” Me at 23 weeks pregnant.. anatomy scan.. told my baby has many concerns and gets genetic testing, baby has trisomy18. I was unable to take my baby home. I wish.. someone would have at least educated me.

I’ve also heard that prenatal tests aren’t that accurate. I’ve heard stories about where parents are told their baby is going to have whatever issues but then the baby is born with no problems! I also watched a video of an expectant mom who did a video about her baby girl and I guess the ultrasound came out that her baby would have Down syndrome based on the fluid around the like you described. I guess her provider pushed her to either try and terminate or get further testing can’t remember but I remember her saying her baby turned out fine and was just a chunky baby!

Thank you so much for this ♥️ lost our first baby to trisomy 13 on November 2nd. Can you talk about the chances of having another baby with a chromosomal abnormality?

I was actually asked at my 10wks checkup if I was interested in genetic testing. It got me a bit scared but still said yes anyway. Your video helped me understand this so much better and I’m glad I said yes. My husband and I don’t think we have “bad” genetics but it’s always better safe than sorry. Thank you for your video!!🥹🫶🏻

Thanks for sharing your story. Since no genetic disorders run on your family or your husbands, did the results turn out good?

I’m so confused on genetic testing , fragil x and nipt ? Are they all the same ? My genetic testing came back low risk but I’m wondering if I need to ask to do a fragil x and nipt test too ?

So if I been off the depo-shot for 6 months how soon can I get pregnant I started taking prenatal what are the chances

Hi there! I am not a doctor but I have been on depo for almost eight years now and am finally switching off of it at the end of this year! All of the doctors/nurses I have spoken to have all said the same thing: an average of 9 months minimum up to a year, but of course, it can happen sooner. It simply depends on your body. I have a friend who was on depo for years as well and when she got off it, she and her husband were blessed with their first baby after three months! It all really is a personal experience, but 9-12 months is the average time, so I've been told. I know your comment is a year old now, so I hope you've been blessed in that time!

I’m concerned because I had a genetic blood test last week and they just called and want me to have an ultrasound done. Can someone tell me if this is normal?

Chances are they are just checking things from your test results. This happened to us. If you aren’t going to do anything differently, meaning have your baby no matter what, then I wouldn’t have the tests done again. I needlessly worried. My baby was fine. Those tests were false. It is up to you. Every Mom/Dad want a perfect baby. But if those tests do not change your decision of having your baby, then I wouldn’t have a test. It is something to consider, if you couldn’t handle having a child with problems, financially or otherwise then it is up to you and your partner. Super personal. And don’t dare think anyone can blame you. But I have heard of so many women who had those blood test come back false positive. We did have a level II or III (2005) US. And that was all that was available then. Other than amniocentesis. We opted out of that test for a number of reasons. My baby had no markers for DS. And yet I still worried for 20 weeks. Until I finally turned it over to Jesus. And accepted that whatever he gave us, was His will. I wish you the best! Praying you do what is best for your family and your baby! And be open minded that while we all want a perfect baby, This baby is YOUR BABY. It is your decision. Please try not to worry! All babies are blessings. It is all about whether you want to prepare, come what may. And the ultrasound may confirm everything is alright. It is a tough spot to be in. It’s a question of whether one wants to really know if everything is ok. It’s always good to hear, until things are possibly not ok. Again, false positives are a real thing! But today more accurate testing is available that wasn’t in 2005 when I had my second child. Hence what brings me here today. We got news that our grandchild’s could be a carrier for a certain disease. Now my son has to have blood tests to see if he is a carrier, as well. It isn’t the best news, but they want to be prepared. We are hopeful and leaning on our faith that our grandchild is healthy. ❤ either way we will love this baby and support them 100%! Best wishes and God bless you and your baby! Edited/spelling error

Murdering your baby should be shameful. No one should be punished for being different. You should be judged of you murder your baby..sorry not sorry.
