I'm glad to see Dragon Star Vanir on this video. It has an great story, great cast of caracters and epic boss battles.

Wizardry (PS2) was an excellent game! Very atmospheric, tough, and great story!

Not sure if you covered it yet but Contact for the NDS was definitely a hidden gem imo. With an actual impactful Karma system and active usage of all the DSs features like the touch screen and mic made it a great game imo. The soundtrack was also extremely tops

Destiny Connect, no shot, had one of the best pre-battle one-liners from a robot in a JRPG imo

I’m pretty sure the other games in the 7th Dragon series are fan-translated. I know “7th Dragon” for the DS has an English translation and so does “7th Dragon 2020” on the PSP. (I’m not sure if “7th Dragon 2020-II” got a translation though). So break out your Android devices w/ those sweet Qualcomm SnapDragon 8 chips & your Steam Decks and get to emulating and playing! (Pretty much every game in this video…)

Seeing Zoids Assault on this list made me think about Front Mission. With the remake of the second entry coming to switch next month, do you have any plans to cover those games?

7th Dragon III Code: VFD takes place 80 years after the events of the last two PSP titles (7th Dragon 2020 and 7th Dragon 2020 II). Code: VFD is kinda standalone, but if you want everything to make more sense, it's best to play the PSP titles (Japan only, but both are patched by fans).

Issue with the Zoids one is that for some reason they went with the Bland Brown Color looking designs, rather then the Bright Colored ones. If they went with the more Anime looking ones then they would have stood out more on the Battlefield and Box Art. Just a bad choice.

What about Izuna The unemployed Ninja duology? The forgotten DS rouge-like RPG these games are fun in their own right and I expect the levels go back to 1 like most rouge likes such as Shiron or Chocobo, when finishing the dungeon but nope your level kept going. Fun time, story didn't take itself seriously but can be funny sometimes

Some time ago you made videos about unique or different jrpgs. But it was a broad list and included even questionable choices, even if still unique. Do you think of refining that idea picking only the best and recommended unique/different jrpgs? Maybe with a filter like only indie, only modern, etc.

Oh my precious Grand Kingdom. I loved that game soooo much. I remember hearing about Grand Knights History and how it never came over and when I saw Grand Kingdom I knew exactly what it was. I actually don't play too many multiplayer games outside of fighting games, but I definitely messed with some unorthodox ones.

I played the PS Vita version of little king's story, really great game!

I had no idea there was an Asterisk War game. I enjoyed the anime enough to want more.

For the Asterisk War one, just watch the anime. I mean, you don't get to choose best girl... but still.

I'd also add Sword of the Vagrant to the list, it's a pretty good vanillawareesque action game with RPG elements, it's on Swicht and Steam for as much as i know.

I'm curious my man, what is your opinion on Unlimited Saga on PS2? Most people say it's terrible but I've watched videos on it but it's definitely odd but I wonder if it'll be interesting to try and figure it out. I've never played it before

Played all of them, half gives me nightmares to this day. Some of those are very well know (Like Demon Gaze), it's just niche. I'm really happy to see Generation of Chaos: PF, it's one of my fav PSP games for the simple and fun history and gameplay. Sadly it had mixed reviews, so it was kinda forgotten.

I'm a bit over halfway through Dragon Star Varnir, and I think it's a decent game, though by no means among the best I've played. Mainly because of the way new abilities are learned, which requires having every character successfully Devour every enemy in the game, if you want everyone to have all abilities and the best possible stats. Also, the difficulty is just screwed up as hell. You can set the difficulty to Inferno, which increases every enemy's level by 150, to gain a lot more XP and gold faster, if you defeat them, but it largely doesn't matter, because you can just Devour the enemies for a chance to instantly kill them, even without having dealt any damage (once you unlock better skills, of course)

I would want to recomend the nightmare of druaga for PS2, de ont know if you already make a video with it, but i remenber getting the game which i still own and now body knew about it, my regret is not finishing it since when i was starting it my PS2 broke and i never got another one, si i can Say if it's a good ir Bad Game but at least from where i am it's a Hidden Game. Also i would like to recomend rivera the promesing land for gameboy advance, don't remenber if i already recomendeded it on previous video, but if not try it out is very unique.

Dragon Valor's generational concept reminds me of Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom. Hopefully this won't be as monotonous.

You've made known videos about jrpgs that got undeserved hate, etc. But you ever thought of refining that old and common idea adding a factor like "famous franchises"? In practice: every franchise's: titles that got too much undeserved hate.

Witch and the Hundred Knight 1 & 2 are brilliant games. They has gorgeous story and soundtrack. Easy recommendation to all JRPG fans. Just don't buy PS3 version of first game, it's broken.

It really pisses me off that so many of these titles have either never been released in Europe or aren't available anymore due to delisting or the closing of the e-shop. I don't do jailbreaking of my consoles nor emulations on my computer so I'll accept the fact I'm stuck with paying an insane amount of money to play these games the honest way. Fml...
