Screaming is not singing. There is much more effort to get the notes out for her now. Singing should be effort less. Look at Barbara Cook in her 60s with effortless tone. Alice Ripley sing stretching and forcing those big belts out which is indicative of vocal damage.

The score isn't difficult, the range is. It's a small but major difference in something like Evita versus something like Sweeney Todd (which *is* a difficult score).
