Currently starring in "Beautiful - The Carole King Musical," Jessie Mueller has played a wide range of roles in her Broadway career. In studio with Seth Rudetsky, she shares stories about her formative years as a singer, then performs Carole King's "Beautiful" while giving each of her multiple Broadway personalities a chance to tackle part of the tune. The "real Jessie" even gets a chance to demonstrate her vocal chops.

Interesting how, based on the voices showcase at the end, her interpretation of Jenna from Waitress sounds like it's informed in equal parts by her real voice and her Carole affectation. It's also a great example of typecasting gone right, since she was probably picked for the role due to the "warm and Southern" style of singing people already knew her for.
