Hello. How would you shade a sketch if the reference photo is like a perfectly, professionally taken photo with basically no visible shades? Thank you. I love this method of yours.

Hi - that's a great question. It can be a lot trickier to use this method with modern photography styles as it was developed when people used to work in studios with a single light source (so you get a clear shadow pattern). However, if you had to work from a brightly lit professional photo I'd recommend focusing on the outside contours of the forms and put subtle shading coming in from these edges. So you won't have a lot of shading but you still place the shapes and features accurately. If you have an example you can link to I'd be happy to make a video series looking at how I'd approach the problem :)
