Great review, thank you! I agree with you. I love my OCC Tool knives. The blades are fantastic, and I like the handles well enough (the two I have are both black walnut) but I think I'm going to sand them the way you did to smooth out some of the corners.
I don't know anyone with OCC nice that hasn't worked on the handle a little bit. And the steel is like you said goes through butter. They're my new favorite
Denis, great video. I love to mix hobbies. I play with slot cars. One idea I had was to hook up a transformer with a cw key in series with the track and send "bens best bent wire" over and over to see how fast I can make an old slot car go around the track. I don't know if you can make the same parallel with knife making or not. Just throwing out ideas. N7ARO Ramsay, MT US
Hi. I like OCCT knives and recently bought the W2 5.1/2" handle 2" blade. I have 2 of the 1.3/8"x 4.1/2" handle but really enjoy the longer handle of the W2!!! Any ideas 0n lengthening my short handles by an inch? ATB. PS. I paid $66 to get it shipped over here to England!!!!! Don't regret it though.
I forgot to ask.. I also watched your video on Drake knives.. Do you have any information on the thickness of both Drake and OCCT as compared to a Helvie? Helvies are pretty darn thin and they go through wood very easily given equal sharpness.. I think I watched a video about OCCT's and there was a difference in thickness.. so, I don' tknow how that all works out.
Seems knife handles should be sized 11:12 as shoes and gloves as one size doesn't fit all My hands sound like a match I brought a Beaver Craft that handle was beautiful and solid but hurts my hand so I built myself a oversized handle and I'll cut away when I decide how much is necessary. Thanks, it looks nice. I'm hearing good things about the OCC Knives
