It really depends on what kind of environment you fish in. I fish in around 30 to 50m off water. The current is pretty strong. I cast forward and fish like that. I have never used the lever. Its probably good. If you are using the reel in calmer water with less currents.

I use the reel in 20m to 60m of water, the 1000 will hold approx 300m of PE1.5. it was much smaller and lighter compared to the 1500 but I guess everyone prefers different. the 1000 size does feel really good.

When do you prefer using spinning vs conventional reels?

@@redseaaquariums7564 calmer conditions i intend to use OH reels, if the drift is too fast. I use spin so i can cast further and use smaller jigs
