Ocean Beach main driving track - April 2017 

Here is a video on the access and track conditions for fishing and camping over the Ocean Beach area of the Wairarapa. These videos were taken around the 27th April 2017. I quite like the place as it’s relatively close by, ok in a nor/westerly, relatively accessible in a soft roader or an older normal car though a proper 4x4 can needed after a southerly storm to access the camp site. However there are several k's of accessible beach before the Corner Creek shingle fan and you can always stay in the manuka before the creek and just walk a hundred metres or so to the camp ground if it’s not practical to drive across. The general area is referred to Western Lakes on weather sites. The fishing is much like Lake Ferry with mainly Kawhai, Gurnard and shark unless you are specifically targeting other species.
