My favourite little detail from this film is that they might've turned Terry Benedict into a good person at the end, completely by accident. Also, there were plans for Steven Soderbergh to make an "Ocean's Fourteen" where everyone would be brought back for one final film, but he refused to make it after the passing of Bernie Mac as it wouldn't be the same without him.

While Soderbergh didn't make Ocean's 14 he did make Loagn Lucky which is a spiritual sequel and has an all star cast just like the Ocean's movies.

The Ocean crew are best friends first and partners second. Their banter is natural and it feels cozy being with them. It's fun, and you know they've got your back. The Avengers feel like just colleagues who have a common goal. They don't feel close as a whole, apart from the individual couplings. Probably why it was easy to have a civil war. They are heroes and good guys obliged to rescue you, but they don't feel like you can have breakfast with them. IMO

@@bazanimeno, youre right, but thats because at least half of the ocean's team already knew each other and only few were only known by name when they first meet. Whereas the avengers are literally what you described. Not to mention, the ocean's team all kind of respect each others contribution equally but with the avengers, theres a level of competition and one upmanship thats going on

The two brothers (Casey Affleck & Scott Caan) are the unsung heroes of the movies imho. While both come across as total morons, they're absolutely vital to the success of the missions. As you said, they do everything. Also, they're freaking hilarious, especially when kicking out the poor 5 Star review guy😂😂😂

It's funny they play characters that are sort of the 'left-over' brothers, while in real life they sort of are the lesser-known brothers of much more famous actors. The reliable B team.

You two mentioned the original Ocean's 11, which was made in 1960. In the beginning of this movie, they mentioned shaking Frank Sinatra's hand; Frank Sinatra played Danny Ocean in the original movie. 😎

Sam and Daniel, I can't tell you why, but trust me when I say you need to watch The Score. Absolutely top-notch heist movie with Robert Deniro and Edward Norton. The ending is AWESOME.

SEA OF LOVE 1989 STARS AL PACINO AND ELLEN BARKIN and its a pretty steamy crime thriller, so its hilarious to see their relationship in this movie.

If you enjoy the Oceans/heist movies I highly highly recommend giving the tv series Leverage a shot. It's like Oceans meets robin hood, in that criminals work together to take down scumbags. They even had a famous thief on hand to consult and give tips, drawing inspiration from real heists, real legal loopholes, real tricks for pickpocketing, etc.

LOVE these movies. Everyone shits on the 2nd movie but IMO its like Samantha said... each of them brought something different. 1st movie introduced us to the style of the film, the crew, the planning, all of it. 2nd one brought on rivalry and unity with a little more comedy, and the 3rd just brought everything together - including alot of call backs to the first two movies. Makes the trilogy FEEL like a trilogy. Certain shows like Ted Lasso are VERY good at making callbacks.

About 40 years ago... my grandfather bought me a suit and took me to meet Sinatra. He knew my grandpa and he shook my hand. Guess I can't piss off George Clooney now. I don't think that's why my grandpa had me shake his hand but it's fun to pretend. I was about 5 years old at the time.

This is my favorite one; I can put this on anytime to either watch directly or have on in the background, and I’ll be satisfied. P.S. George Clooney poked fun at this movie a ton when it came out, but that’s also because it was the year his other film Michael Clayton was making its way throughout the awards circuit.

I really enjoy 13. I think the crew is all in fine form, everybody gets something fun to do, and it ends on a really hopeful note. It's a shame we lost Bernie Mac and then Carl Reiner. I'm not sure how I would feel about them coming back without Frank and Saul.

There is an Ocean's Eight with Sandra Bullock and Kate Blanchett, which is a fun time to watch! It's probably not as good as Ocean's 11, but it's still a fun movie❤❤

It was going to be real. It's the design that George Clooney was going to use for his own hotel and casino before the housing market crashed in 2007. He ended up selling the plot of land and the Aria was built in its place.

@brucef310 Clooney did want to build his own casino/condo resort in Vegas in 2005. But that is the only thing right in your post. The hotel design is complete Hollywood fantasy. That was never the design. Aria is part of City Center and was already in planning and construction during this time. Clooney didn't own or have any access to that land. His was proposed off the strip a few blocks east of Planet Hollywood. And it wasn't a tower, it was multiple shorter buildings. He sold because he couldn't get investors and had a lot of bad ideas like a dress code. He was too nostalgic for old Vegas (the Oceans movies probably made that worse) and the money in Vegas has long left that behind. Tha land still remains undeveloped.

@brucef310 No problem. I actually had no idea about Clooney's plan until I looked it up. I just knew the whole ordeal work City Center as well as Aria so when you mentioned that I figured something was off. After reading some articles, I wonder if some of Ocean 13's plot or back story were inspired from his dealings with developers on Vegas. There are A LOT of egos in play.

Bernie Mac, I think, was sick when they did this film. He died a year after the movie came out and he had lung sarcoidosis for like 20 something years. This lead to the pneumonia he ended up dying from. So his smaller role in the movie might have been because of all of that.

Well, Mr. Pacino, that's what happens when you mess with people who have an impeccable reputation in their industry. They have a lot of talented friends and you have a really nice person, almost killed. Luckily, but how could it be otherwise with this group, the poor “tester” is very well compensated. He also felt sick but played along for a good cause. Each of the Ocean films has a place of honor on the shelf.

I enjoyed this one. A step up and back to old form I'd say. Even though the ending in Oceans 12...the whole meet-up at the end... would have been a perfect way to end. David Paymer as "Very Unimportant Person" stole every scene he was in. Hilarious.

I would also recommend Logan Lucky, another heist film from Soderberg. Like Oceans, it has a great soundtrack, stacked cast, and a fun scheme.

Seeing Ruben get screwed over by Al Pacino’s character was definitely interesting and the film immediately got to the point and showed us audience of what happened to Ruben. It was totally satisfying to see Al Pacino’s character get his comeuppance at the end. Here’s a big lesson to all folks out there: If you want to run your own casino, don’t be a d**k to your staff or your customers/guests. It’s bad for business, and that’s all I have to say about it.

This was a fun “conclusion”. After the criticisms that 12 was far too convoluted, they elected to go with a far more simplified and straight forward heist story this time around… or sabotage, rather. Still totally works. The chemistry among the cast is great, and Al Pacino made for a great POS villain. RIP Bernie Mac and Carl Reiner, as well as Julian Sands (Greco).

I didnt catch that, but there is Oceans 8 and its kind off sequel with Danny Oceans sister and her crew. I love it, but most people dont think that its the good movie,, but I enjoy it very much and watched it every time when I have mine personall heist movie marathon.

ah, i forgot that guy was in this, i wish i could remember his name but hes the director or whatever of that AI machine, the english blonde man who also played the spider scientist (totally what its called, dont look it up) in arachnophobia. he unfortunately passed last year or even before then going hiking. he got lost in a storm and was found months later. RIP

Have you watched the tv series Leverage? Somewhat similar vibe to these movie. Group of criminals pulling cons & heists to right some wrongs. Lots of fun & comedy, with bits of intense drama. It's a great watch!

I'm so glad they came back for a third one. I found part 2 incredibly underwhelming. They needed to go out on a massive win. The one thing I don't love, this won't be a popular opinion, is what brings them all together. Why was Reuben stupid enough to get involved with Bank? He even says that everyone told him not to and he did it anyway. He seemingly had all the connections to get everything ready. It was his land. All signs pointed to a bad outcome but because of "Sinatra's hand" he figured he could trust him. Frankly, he had it coming. He doesn't even get in the fight to take down Bank. He just lies in bed moping for the whole movie until the very end when he strolls into the casino with a completely unearned attitude like he orchestrated everything. Then he becomes even less likeable by taking over a table that was already occupied and just shrugs like he's saying "You get it, I'm better than you." I can't stand him.

one thing i don't care for about this movie is the yellow tint they gave a lot of scenes. it was sp popular with some filmmakers in the early 2000s, and i dont know why. Definitely check out the original 1960 version of Ocean's Eleven with Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis jr.

Sam did get confused why the night fox she said that he knows about it and in in it when she first saw him and then at the end she said he did not know about it so they did not reveal everything to you before the end
