Little did people know at the time, the level of greatness they were witnessing that will be remembered for decades to come. We are talking exactly 20 years on and still everyone gets mind blown by the absolutely insane power of the Tomcat, presence, panache and harmony of brute force with beauty. What a fighter!
@harrywisniewski5017 fair. But with upgrades and a modernization package (Similar to the F15) it could still be competitive, the only issue I see is streamlining the maintenance costs and lowering them
F14 was the boss there. The brutal power and absolute earth shattering noise. It really stole the show. Also, some of those maneuvers were so tight, it was mind blowing!
Loved how the F-14 rolled inverted and then came straight down towards the camera as if it is coming down directly at the camera. The greatest fighter ever made.
I was lucky enough to ride in a Tomcat several years ago. As someone who grew up with Top Gun and has always been fascinated by aviation I can clearly say that these 45 Minutes have been the blast of my life and I was sad when it retired.
This would have been sweet to see. The awesome part is these are not the Blues or a dedicated airshow team squadron (But I'd be shocked if at least a handful of these pilots had not become Blue's pilots since '04). The squadron is just doing what they do for a living. I mean 6 Tomcats in a pretty tight formation over an airstrip is rare to see anymore. I really miss this guy's voice at airshows. I googled it, but not too much and I cannot find his name. He loved watching these shows as much as we do.
The F-14 is Superior in every aspect, except for avionics which unfortunately is a large part of the aircraft's capabilities. But boy is she pretty (and fast as hell).
@@shawnmchenry9068 , not from 50 miles away+. The only time the F-18 would best the 14 would be in CLOSE ATA combat... Within 10 miles and in. But she'd probably be dead already before even seeing the F-14. The AGM-54 is a beast of a missile.
