Welcome to the 2023 NAS Oceana Air Show!
Filmed on September 16, 2023, this features the unique Oceana Air Power demonstration of the local Super Hornets, as well as their neighbors at Norfolk in their E-2D Hawkeye. This particular demonstration was one of my highlights of the show, especially with their addition of the Hawkeye. Unfortunately, no special-colored Super Hornets (with no adversary Super Hornets in sight even on display) were included in this year's show, which was a disappointment for many enthusiasts. Nevertheless, witnessing such a performance is truly something to be grateful for being done in the first place.
This performance showcases Oceana-based Strike Fighter aircraft demonstrating the maneuvers and tactics used to deliver air-to-ground weapons in real-world combat operations, as well as air-to-air intercepts. F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets. The end of the show features their signature Oceana fleet flyby. The number and type of aircraft that participate is different every year.
