after accidentally using the 8x compressed XP orb I got I can say it is about 5400 levels..... WHOOPS.... upside I unlocked a LOT of slots for the trinkets haha
Also, RIP end game crafting. Got that as a quest reward after looking at some of the later game items (like seemingly OP: armor and sword from Mini Utilities).
@@Bobbybill123 aah I tried to do that but I made a mistake in my mob farm and left the grinder going... Wound up getting grinded myself. I did manage to store a fair bit of it through crystals and the exp tome from blood magic. Started with 6k levels, spent a bunch on the trinket slots and got to like 4k, stored about 1k before I died. So I used up the crystals for fueling mana in botania and then kept 180 in the book.
Something to consider: Many industrial buildings place their windows very high up and along the length of the building. What you built looks borderline like a greenhouse. :)
@@vedritmathias9193 not to mention ones build on rivers or lakes for easy access to water for cooling power generation or complex machinery. You wouldnt believe how hot some production lines become, in these factory games, you never have to deal with immense heat, employee accidents, or belts and machines upkeep / maintainence.
Very nice video. One of the things I learned early, though, that might help with your power setup? Krate seems to be an alternative to storage drawers, and while it's very simple, it has options for Hopper Upgrades (which allow pushing and pulling from every individual direction) as well as compression. I've set them up next to my sluices and they grab the items automatically and compress them. You do have to switch between 2x2 and 3x3, but it's made keeping larger quantities of resources much easier. Keep up the great work!
There needs to be a mod that just has a bunch of premade buildings. It seems like dire's idea of fancy building is not using cobblestone for his various sized flat planes and cubes.
@@Dreygen5 yeah I was looking at that. I didn't have time to give it a full look through but if you can create your own buildings then we need to band together to give dire some useful but also not borglike buildings.
@@TheErusPrime Oh no. I'm a terrible builder. The problem is, he has his own built in building creator AND community who has actually made a ton of buildings for him. He has the Copy/Paste gadget and an entire reddit dedicated to sharing blueprints for him to just plonk down in the world. I have no idea why he just... stopped doing it. My guess, is that things got a little too fancy for him and cost more materials than he was willing to push out.
@@TheErusPrime afaik you can’t make custom buildings and share them with prefab, but might be able to do it with themightyarchitect. There’s also the copy and paste gadget from his own mod, like someone else said
dire is the opposite of the "minecraft youtuber" stereotype when they say "i'm going ot do a little building off camera" then do an insane amount. HE does it on camera and maxes a larger box
Dire, adding things to his RS system: "Because I didn't autocraft you it doesn't super matter where I add you..." But actually, Dire, it doesn't (or shouldn't) matter how stuff gets into the RS system. If it's autocrafted, the system expects you to put that stuff in, it doesn't actually care how it gets the stuff it expects for the craft to finish. You could use pipes, hoppers, import buses, destruction planes, or just drop it into the terminal in front of you.
Mycelial generators are equivalent to the EU generators. Also, I haven’t seen it done before, but it could be a good idea to set up a builder to quarry the top 3 layers of the water to get all the barrels within the area… could be cool, definitely great for loot. Would love to see it!
Dire: i'm thinking we need a fancy place to start living were gonna start build a 'nice' home to live.. me: your gonna build a box out a chisel blocks aren't you? either a 9 x 9 or a big empty box. me: yup that's a box, not it's not fancy, it's dire...
Honestly, I like the boxes, especially the 9x9. I know it's not super-fancy, but it's *incredibly* functional, and that has a beauty of its own. (Though I wish Dire lit them with torches instead of Feral Flare Lanterns, since the whole reason for the design is that it's the maximum size for which you don't need to put torches on the floor...)
@@akiranara6404 right, i think my underlining problem is he made an incredible mod for building using paste and git hub, so he could get help from the community. so it's frustrating to see the continued use of big empty boxes. he can even say these are thing that the building must have, and makes a few items to list. then say make it look pretty. he's not even in early game to use it as a "just for starters" excuse.
If ya like the diamond hammer, ya'd really like the diamond auto hammer! No energy cost, no placing down the blocks. Just pop into one chest on the side and right out the other!
Hey Dire. Great video. An easy way to get an enormous amount of “smooth” stone is the igneous extruded over a magma block. Material stonework works too but igneous is straightforward and not wasting extra slots that can be used for other material.
the rainbow generator has a spiritual successor in industrial forgoing through mycelial reactor. It requires all the other reactors to run but I believe rather than nether stars, it uses the gas you milk from the wither instead.
My favorite part of any Dire series. Building With Direwolf20. :) (That, and Direwire) (Also, if you get a supremium tinker's hammer, you can get Prosperity IV, which gets you prosperity shards - I wonder if fortune affects that...).
It's still a huge cuboid... Dire never matured from the dirt house a minecraft newbie builds on their first day, he just changed out dirt for other blocks and made if bigger, but its essentially the same energy.
Dire should be very pleased. One possible outcome of his 'jump through the painting in a different location' test, based solely on my experience with other teleportation mods, is that it may have spawned another structure on the other side with no painting to return.
Foregoing picked up the torch of the Rainbow Generator. They are the Mycelial Generators and they work the same way. You should def get into them in this back as it would be something both new and very old.
Dire, consider automation for the sluices. You can use a aqueous accumulator to give multiple sluices water. Using a cobble generator into compacting drawers the auto-hammer can make you a ton of gravel. Also, might want some drawers for the sluices output
8 of the auto hammers, 3 - tier 1 cobble gen, and 1 aqueous accumulator gives a steady flow of gravel, sand and dust with zero RF required. A little bit of extra work and power free netherrack is also possible.( The netherrack setup also gets you nertherite.)
Chisel is nice, but I still miss carpenter's blocks. IIRC it fell by the wayside due to how it needed to work, as that caused copious amounts of lag, but it was great for building imo, and being able to just put a piece of glowstone dust on a block to make it give off light made keeping a tidy yet base/home very easy. From there, lamps/lights/torches are purely decorational.
28:50: we're gonna need alot more glass... Suddently turns around and cuts the recording comes back with... im sure he went back to the furnace and used the time in a bottle
Better to plan for more than plan for less. Other option is to plan for a higher/lower floors, or not plan for and organically expand. It isn't like you usually do the fancy roofs.
Hey Dire, check your storage cause I'm pretty sure you got a flux storage thing as a quest reward so you might be able to use that as wireless energy transfer.
@@Bariel76 step 1 make it hollow with glass, step 2 make it solid with other type of blocks, step 3 get vein mining (not sure if the builder in quarry mode can blacklist. If it can blacklist your glass, saves mining). I was lucky i had mending on my pick with a large tank of experience to use the tap to repair. On another note, the tap and xp is good mana gen for botania. Comparator on a pool, redstone to an exporter set to export xp to a tank (active without redstone setting) tap always on attached to tank. As pool fills enough, shuts off exporter so you dont xp when full.
@@salmon85 Thanks. I feared you might say something like that, tried various options with the Pump and clearing pump cards for the builder to remove the water but it couldn't beat the infinite water regenerating itself beyond the top layer or two. Solid fill and vein mine it will have to be. Love the botania tip, have more XP from my mob farm than I know what to do with so a Rosa Arcana is great idea. Thanks :)
Dire the mycelial reactor is the same as the rainbow gen all you need to do is have all the mycelial generators active to have the mycelial reactor powered
Oh man, every episode where Dire tries his best to build is so very painful to watch. Brown on brown in a big, goofy box with the typical Dire-patented ceiling is really something to behold.
You need to make your windows on the 3 walls that don’t have your door 1 block taller. They are 1 block shorter than the windows on wall with your door and then there would only be 1 block of buffer all around instead of 1 on the left, right, and bottom, and 2 on the top.
That’s 8 to the power of 8, (8^8) of the base item, or 16,777,216 of those experience items. Feel free go go ham, I don’t think you will realistically run out even if you do 100 episodes, and convert them to experience constantly
*Dire:* My RS system is down because the power generation by the solar panel is too low to fully support it and the only way I can use the RS system is when I tick accelerate the solar panel *Also Dire:* Let's fill up the range upgrades because everybody knows they are basically free regarding power usage 😂😂😂
He set up a Gas-Burning Generator with Hydrogen last episode. Power isn't as much of a problem for him now. I do hope he eventually remembers he can use the oxygen from that setup for ore tripling, though.
It's always fun to deliberately sabotage a Draconic reactor... As long as you have 20 chunks of retreat distance between it and anything you care about, that is...
update the pack and look at the getting started tab of the wuest book it has a new block that just happly sits around crushing rock down to duset if you set up enouff of them
You need to add the CTM Resource pack to go with the CTM mod that is already in the pack (Chisel relies on CTM so it has to be in). Adding that CTM Resource pack will add connected textures to glass and many other blocks without the need for another mod.
Dire, you have everything you need to upgrade your Mekanism factories to ultimates and make the speed, energy, gas and muffling upgrades for them. With 8 speed upgrades they are almost as fast as a x32 tick acceleration. Also, I would recommend making seeds for all the common materials. If you collect 80 blaze rods you can make a blaze seed and start making End Chests and tanks that will allow you to eliminate a lot of pipes.
I'm really glad you decided to skip most of the RS setup this time. We've all seen it a million times before and it was nice just to get to the newer stuff :)
@Dire: I'm again proposing you the idea of only using renewable energy in this series. Renewable in it's real life sense (so solar, wind, etc.) and not a furnace generator setup that has some mystical agriculture coal plants right next to it. I know the gas burning generator is kinda your favourite, but you a) used it a lot in the past and b) usually don't setup mechanisms wind turbines or large solar arrays. Once the gas burning generator is setup, it's pretty much as low maintenance as eg. a solar system. (Plus you are already pretty high in the world so a wind generator could probably be easier done than in any other world with a default height of 64 blocks.
He could do that but there is a draconic evolution which require a ton of energy to craft stuff. And he just gonna torturing himself to get that much energy form renewable energy source only.
@@archcraft1548 You call it _torturing_ I call it _the ultimate challange_ 😈😁 I know Draconic uses a loooooot of energy, but until draconic he could really go fully renewable that. And Draconic is meant to be the most overpowered mod in the game - so I would not be surprised if that wouldn't work out
@@KuruGDI ultimately it wouldn’t really be a challenge though. Just a lot I’d placing the same generators over and over again in a big, empty area, and connecting them all to a cable which is connected to wireless power
@@aminelswefy1808 Resource collection, resource processing, autocrafting, etc. There are a lot of steps. Like the gas burning generator was not only just placing down a few blocks. (Especially the wind turbines could be interesting)
@@KuruGDI that’s not what I meant. He could just make a few manually, teach the recipe to his rs system, then request a 100 or smth and it would just be tedious, placing the same thing that many times
I love how dire was looking through the chiseled factory blocks just like "What about this brown? Naw this brown is too busy. This brown is nice! Oh but I reeeeally like this brown." Yeah, grey and brown are just your staples Dire lol
I got the 8x compressed experience and popped it not knowing it was going to give me 6700 exp, I have died since I got it before I had a way to store it 🤣🤣😭😭😭
