Dire you can upgrade existing cubes with the tier upgrades, which makes it easier also the 1024k block as "thats cool", no dire it's f'in awesome, it holds 1mil items in your refined storage system, will keep you going for ages.
well dire. the thing about the melter is that it takes solid fuels, not just lava (with that seared heater you turn into the smeltery). so you *actually* can use it a whole lot in the early game before you get lava access. you just skipped it entirely by making mekanism tools
If you're starting with tinker's before other stuff, the melter also makes grout produce two seared bricks each. I used it until I had a couple layers of smeltery built, then switched to the smeltery for making more seared stone for more layers. Also, hook an item trash can up to one of those tubes on the lava production filtered to fluid containers of lava. That'll keep it from stopping by voiding all the excess lava. It only produces the fluid containers when the tanks are full. Also also, drip lava onto magma blocks to make blue magma.
The thing is unless you are playing some kind of expert pack where chances are access to a smeltery is even more gated than just the need for lava, lava is easy to get to by digging a mine down to y11 and in most skyblock type packs making lava is usually fairly early and easy so you can then make a cobblegen and progress. Access to lava really isn't the gate that most people perceive it as.
The jar will automatically stop whenever there is like a backup of excess so for example when you continuously have it making lava it will throw out a cartridge of lava and automatically stop the processing... to fix that one thing would be is to have a fluid trash can added to the loop and any excess will just be thrown in the trash can instead and thus not stopping the processing of the jars. It took me a while to figure that out as well.
I like how dire makes his tasks harder that it needs to be, only one sluice in a awkward position with hammers going into the water instead across the land , dire you need at least 3 sluices at your current progression with good automation, you can put them anywhere now and keep the automation on the land for easy maintenance if you need more x resources, double up instead of changing the sluice input
Dire, I do recomment Hydroponic Beds (shift right click the seed onto the top of the block), they're essentially mechanical dirt and are really fast with Processing and Speed upgrades). Since the crops are tile entities, they also respond to growth accelerators (maybe a 15-20% boost maxed out, as it's already quick). Ether gas is optional, as Integrated Dynamics can be used (Player SImulator for the right clicking - Just add a block boolean card). Ether gas requires a wither in a stasis chamber with a liquid laser setup. Either way would be an new and interesting build. Each bed is about 115 rf/t (slightly more if you include the wither), so it's a mid-to-late game build for a large setup. Also, you only need to right click farmland with the mystical agriculture essence instead of crafting it with a hoe.
Dire the lava generator stoped because it cant store the lava anywhere so it pops out a fluid container. You need a bigger tank or just void the containers with a trash bin.
My system dosen't stop when it runs out of space... I suspect Dire's is a bit wonky as there are too many unneeded pipes including the two on top. My setup is (to keep up with demand is 6) jars with blue magma and autocrafters with a normal drawer(filled with cobble from a cobblegen below) touching one side of a autocrafter and a tank also directly touching an autocrafter and no pipes, trash cans or any other storage near it at all and it never stops when the tank fills.
There is a wireless fluid grid. its just an addon mod which is in the pack and not part of the refined storage mod itself so you will miss it filtering on mod, cant remember what the name of the addon mod is. You can also add autocrfting on a fluid transposer to make filled lava buckets on demand from the item grid.
A lot of comments on lava overspill with the tempered jars, but my [accidental] fix appears to be unique. I added a 200-odd bucket drum, the iron one I think, and this appears to void extra lava, plus it holds huge amounts, and never stops. There's also an upgrade to it I need to try.
Doing this pack at the same time as you is a trip because we end up doing progression in a completely different order, so I'm way behind you in a bunch of fields but I've had Tinkers for ages. This is a fairly nonlinear pack, especially with random quest rewards letting you skip over stuff. It's nice.
I have to use a liquid trash can for the lava overflow in the tempered glass lava generation or mine quits working too. I pipe it into two tanks and then the trash can. It will spit out one lava tube after every available slots are filled and then quit otherwise - the trash can keeps it going obv. Thanks for your series I really enjoy it. :)
The lava generator turns off when the tank fills up. Add a liquid trash can Edit: And use the blue magma block. Lava in 7 seconds Edit2: Finally after 20+ episodes
I'd suggest an item trash can. My lava production was slowing down randomly sending to the fluid trash can instead of a tank with room in it. It only creates the fluid containers when all connected tanks are full, so an item trash can still voids all the excess lava and keeps it running without a chance of slowdown.
@@KamiNoBaka1 Thats an interesting way to go about it. I automated the system when Dire reached Episode 3 with RS and 2 external storage with changing prio, one of which dumped excess lava into a fluid trashcan and its been running ever since (unless I use time in a bottle ofc).
@@KamiNoBaka1 I instead opted for the tier 3(2?) Black hole unit for fluids. That way once I stopped using lava for power I still had 50k buckets for basalt production.
considering your comment on 14:00 the best way to fix the Jar lava production is to have a valid inventory for the lava to go. best way in my opinion to make it always work is to stick a fluid trashcan at the end of the line so it'll always have somewhere to go. when it can't put it anywhere it'll spit out an item (lava canister) which is a sign for the auto process to stop.
Blue magma blocks are the 2nd fastest heat source with only the beacon being faster. Black Hole Tanks are also a thing, would be better for storing the lava, you may have gotten one as a quest reward, I sure did.
Dire, the Krate mod has a compressor upgrade that will probably allow you to turn essences into resources and then use a whitelisted importer to pull the resources out into refined
Hey Dire, the reason why the jar stops running is because it runs out of space for the output, you can confirm this by watching what happens after it fills up the tank as it drops a fluid cell with lava on the ground and disables itself. If you hook up an item trash can after the tank, it'll keep running but void excess lava it makes in the form fluid cells.
13:43 - the auto lava maker is turning off because it failed to find a place to put the lava. It's actually kind of annoying, but an easy fix. Either make your tank infinite (good luck) or place a liquid trash can somewhere further along the pipe line (the pipes seem to follow a nearest-first routing scheme).
Good upgrade to the Blue Magma block. The auto-craft for that turns off when there is nowhere to output the result. A liquid trash can should solve that issue.
Oh and Dire! When you use the grid, you can hold shift and middle mouse scroll down to take out a single item at a time (works in reverse to put single items in as well). You don't need to take out an entire stack and put it back. (saves on energy too! lol)
20 episodes after the first comments and he finally got the auto output for the sluice, I am so happy xD Too bad he's still not using the Krate auto compressing upgrade(s) (one for ore 2x2 and another crate for 3x3)
He's also going to run out of space real soon as none of the chunks are being auto-processed or stored in Drawers/black holes/other but are just being fed into his RS drives
@@ThePoxun He put most of them into storage drawers a couple of episodes ago and talked about adding void upgrades. The import busses are forwarding them directly into these drawers, and he has external storage busses hooked to them. So they just LOOK like they're in his actual system, when they're not.
To solve the issue with the lava thing as it stops when the tanks are full either add a a drawer for the container that it creates or void the lava with a fluid trashcan.
@direwolf20 Your lava generator turns off because the tank gets full. If you replace it with like an unstable drum or supreme black hole tank you won't have that problem.
when the tank gets full the next cycle makes a item instead of liquid lava so by adding a drawer with void upgrades it should solve the issue. you could check out system collapse's oceanblock series to see the issue and how he dealt with it
You may have noticed, since this episode but it looks like one of the corner blocks of your original 8 blocks farm, does not have upgrades applied under it. Fun episode.
The FTB tempered jars are you stopping every time your world is restarted!!! They stop every time your tank is full. It has been and I assume will always be this way. The only way to stop it is to have a trash can as the last place where fluids can go. I am actually very surprised he kind of sort of figured this out, but will still forget it by next episode.
Dire the the problem with the glass lava is that when the tank is full it makes solid cans and those have no place to go so it stops. The solution to this is to have either a fluid or item trash can that’s further away from the jar than the tank to output excess to when the tank is full
@13.45 when your talking about the jars stopping all the time. I have done lots of testing and what is happen8ing is that when the inventory that it is putting it's output into gets full the jar auto processing stops. Which is a good thing because when it has no where to put your lava it will make fluid cells and dump them into the world as drops. Worst thing about the whole issue is that it seems the jar auto processor is not effected by redstone! BOOO this is the biggest bummer other wise it could be sorted out easily.
With regard to tinker's new startup, in enigmatica at least I ended up using that starter smeltery quite a bit. It is a great little 'I only need to make a few of XYZ' block for when you don't want to interrupt your big smelter. That also means it is easier to automate since you can have a bunch of them.
And it's good early ore plus, not doubling but hey. Anything bigger than 1 is better than the furnace. I believe it's 3 ore to 4 ingots? 1 and 3 nuggets.
I like dire because he is a oldschool player trying to understand new mods, I can relate to that. Minecraft is constantly changing and it's hard to keep up
the seared smelter should probably replace the smeltery controller. makes it an upgrade to the smelter and does not instantly obsolete it. maybe need the controller as well and another tank for higher levels of smelting and ore doubling . .
I put a fluid trash can on my jar for lava production, so it doesn't stop running I'd rather "waste" a few free cobble than run out of lava when I need it
Here’s a nice bug with the auto hammer. When you put compressed materials inside, it completely calculates the output wrong. I put 1 stack of 3x compressed cobble into a netherite auto hammer [46656 cobble] and got an output of over 800 000 gravel. Thats over 17 times the expected output. I managed to completely fill my ME storage with this.
@@SavageDarknessGames I guess my wording was unclear. Sorry. What I meant was that the equivalent of 46 thousand cobble [compressed] turns into over 800 thousand gravel with the auto hammer. With a normal hammer I get the expected 46 thousand gravel
instead of breaking the crafters, just place the last one, and just transfer the patterns.... lol it is a lot cleaner and easier to do, not to mention faster
Also, the pack just gave me the biggest troll just now. I made a netherite seed and upgraded my sluice to netherite. Reward? More netherite seeds! Well, at least I have hydroponic bays...
I wonder how long it will take before Dire will put growth blocks undearneath the remaining spots of his first area. Aswell as upgrate the soil. Does this pack not allow right clicking soil with agroculture stuff to upgrate either?
Lets gooo I was soft locked because of the warm void trinket. The game didn't load in the compact dimension and i fell into the void and got stuck on a loading terrain screen.
Hey Dire, go back to the blood magic dungeon and grab one of the torches off the wall. Put it under the jar in place of the magma block. It makes lava faster than the magma. BTW, beacons are the best heat of all (for high heat).
That entire 10 mins of mekanism upgrading couldve been left out tbh Dire, there's nothing new to that type thing and we've all seen it hundreds of times before js 👍
