Dire: I’ll skip this automation and building of some refined storage because you guys have seen it a million times Also Dire: let’s spend half an episode on camera putting things in drawers
Seed reprocessor will convert those Mystical Ag seeds into essences. Equip your jetpack into the jetpack curio slot, it is nice that it doesn't use up an armor slot. I'd like to see a fully automated Industrial Forgoing Mycelia Generator (AKA the new rainbow generator)!
Compacting drawers are really nice for metals because the RS system can read nuggets, ingots, and blocks at the same time. You won't need crafting patterns for combining that way. It can be trouble if you have a recipe that uses two types for the same metal and you're low on resources, but it's usually not an issue.
@@thecreatorofthedark Yeah, I know. I doubt I'll ever know something about Minecraft that Dire doesn't. That was more for the people in comments looking for tips.
if you know dire then there is a very good chance that over possibly 3 episodes you can watch his resources drain (because of something broken down) and he wont notice until he has just about no resources to do anything hahaha
For those of you who would like to do a drawer system for each sluice sourced item and prefer to plan out your build beforehand, there are (from gravel, sand and dust) 15 items that need to be processed (aka chunks into 2x2 packing and then into a machine) and 15 items that are raw and need no processing. This means 30 drawers or just enough for one controller. If you extend your automation to include sluicing of netherrack and basalt you will need further drawers for items such as quartz, cobalt and netherite. Also of note, flourite chunks can only be sluiced with a cloth or iron mesh and this would add one more drawer to your system but would require one entire sluice to be added to any existing array.
And here I was. Thinking, this is it. The moment he just makes sea platforms and levels the island. Alas, I am not surprised he just created a dirt hovel basement.
Dire. Dire never changes. And yet, I always feel that same pain whenever he builds a structure and it's essentially a semetric cuboid of one block type, maybe with windows, and another block type for the floor.
Fun tip for anyone else playing this pack, setting up a lava-gen with Blue Magma Blocks and FTB Jar Autocrafters isn't the *worst* idea, since you'll also be needing the Lava to sluice Netherrack and Basalt for Nether Resources and Netherite!
It is a good way to generate lots of lava quickly, the problem is that FTB Jar Autocrafters stop working once the lava buffer is full and they won't accept a redstone signal to try to automate them (i.e. buffer goes below 10%, start the production of lava). Because I don't want the hassle to keep restarting the lava production, I went with pumping the nether too. Edit: Be sure to have some means of flying if you do that as the boat won't work as well in pumped areas :)
Dire just swim back to the bottom of the ocean and vein mine the obsidian like you did in the first couple episodes lol. Super easy and fast to collect.
19:35 - I've run into storage drawer issues in the past (and still do when it comes to non-stackables). Best way around it is to pipe directly into the drawer instead of the controller. Also, here's something new to try - Hydroponic Beds from Industrial Foregoing. You simply feed it power, water, and Ether Gas (wither(s?) in a statis chamber) to auto-harvest the crops. It uses 1,000 RF per growth tick, but it averages to about 100-120 rf/t. It's equivalent to somewhere between Tier 1 and 2 Power Pots at a fraction of the cost (granted, there's setting up the whole wither stasis chamber). EDIT: Or, you could forego the wither and just use a player simulator from Integrated Dynamics along with an ender hopper.
Hey Dire, when you start revamping your mystical agriculture, I may be mistaken but I believe that you can just right click farmland with the essence to convert it to that tier if farmland just like if you were fertilizing it, instead of crafting it with a hoe every time.
@@lrayzor right, but tertium and all that he's been doing by how, he could just as easily craft up a bunch if supremium and go right click his fields, would make getting his obsidian a lot easier, especially with growth accelerators running.

Dire, look into krates! With a compacting upgrade for the sluice. Also you can put the krate next to the sluice end and it will automatically go in. No need for a hopper
The Blood magic harvesting ritual works really well without digging up the seeds meaning it's really easy to automate and alter what seeds you want to grow
the Krate crates with a compacting upgrade are a great option for dealing with chunks. then just set an importer to blacklist them so that only clusters are imported.
I actually like this pack because the islands (in all dimensions), initial barrel looting, sluices and jar mod make early/mid game interesting... Sadly late game kind of ends up the same as every other 1.16 pack with generic "make all the things" quests using all the same familiar mods.
Dire, you might be interested in the Krate mod for the sluicing... the biggest one is holds tons, and you can put in upgrades to automatically compact the ore chunks into useable (smeltable or otherwise processable) pieces. Love the organization on the drawers!
Loving Direwolf20's interesting use of alternate mods and paths for this pack. Just be mindful if you are also playing it there are easier ways to automate and get large amounts of all the basic resources and power than the resource seeds and the gas generator ;) For instance for a lot of mid-game power I went with 10 mekanisim wind generators at max height -5 using an angel/fairy block to create a platform and flux to move the around 2K RF/tick power down to my base - no fuel needed... just watch for where the shadow from the platform is :)
How is it easier than gas-burning generator? It's about same cost, no hight needed, much more compact and scalable, and most importantly one GB gen can generate up to 40k RF/t. And I can't think of easier way than mystical agriculture to get resources - you just plant a seed and that's it
@@smallquant7650 mystical agriculture is definitely the best way for resources especially once you get powerpots, but before that, sluicing is probably the most energy efficient
I built ice seeds in botany pots, automated basic powah crafting (see enigmatica series with a replaced pulse repeater for a pulse and repeater), and constant sluicing. Threw it all in a reactor for a couple k of rf/tik. All I need to do is upgrade/replace the reactor/lasers/cabling, then onto the next tier as resources become available…just now starting on blaze seeds and induction storage before the next reactor upgrade. Probably going to do mycillia generator from industrial foregoing (25+ mil rf/tik on enigmatica) and Draconic ball for long term power needs.
Sluicing is definitely faster early game source of getting resources, but it was about simplicity. Automating sluice production more complicated than seed, pot, dirt and chest
@@smallquant7650 But once you automate the sluice, you get tons of resources at once. For mystical agriculture you need to create and plant every individual seed you want.
Really enjoying this series Dire, reminds me of the old Skyblock series you did, loving all the figuring out how to make these mods play together nicely.
Dire, just an FYI you’re going to need a lot of electrotine, sea pickles, and other resources for end game. Please start the stockpiling of singularity resources… I wouldn’t “void” anything in this pack you need Wyvern energy core singularities, and more. Also not a great idea to use the compressed experienced for anything.
I would recommend adding the cable tiers mod as it adds better importers / exporters as well as disk manipulators (better when de-fragging your storage disks)
All you have to do is put a chest or krate at the output end of the sluice and stuff will automatically get inserted into it. You can also put a compacting upgrade in the krate to auto-combine the small chunks into the bigger, smeltable ones. Sending the big chunks into mechanical squeezers first will ore-triple, you get 3 dust per ore guaranteed that way.
I recommend you make a toggle cable and put it between your system and your drawers. That way you can turn off your drawers to that see what items are in your disc drives and if you ever get that bug where the drawers are not syncing up you can just toggle it back and forth
Good idea. It's also useful for when you are adding new drawers to the system and don't want to muck about with keys etc. especially if you have hopper pots feeding drawers directly into the drawer system and want to add new ones.
Just fyi for everyone, RS cables are water loggable but you have to place them on a source block of water. That's why when dire placed the cable on the flowing water it disappeared, it wasn't a source block.
This style on the power building looks just to inviting for some immersive multiblock-madness, with all the pipes and giant tanks and the massive spinning turbine....oh boy, i need to start a new world now xD
26:00 It's not so much that FTB Ultimine (veinminer) can jump a block, because it can't. It just considers all 26 blocks surrounding a block (or maybe 18, I'm not sure about the corners) as it's neighbor. As far as veinminer was concerned, they were still connected.
if you haven't recorded the next episode yet, you should focus that one on cleaning up your island!!! i recently cleaned up my island and it makes finding stuff so much easier
dire wolf don't use normal farming or botany pots. Use Hydroponic Beds PLEASE USE THEM; they have super faster speed if you give them ether gas and water also give them all of the tier 2 addons (processing, speed, efficiency) I got 10k Iron ingots in 1 hour with just 1 hydroponic bed.
Dire mentions compacting drawers.. doesn't use them. :( Not only are they useful for metals and stuff using them for the chunks can also automatically make them into clusters ready for smelting... I'm looking forward to what other solution he comes up with for doing so in the next episode...
the Krate compacting upgrade is a better way to compact chunks. just put one at the end of the sluice (no need for vacuum hopper nonsense) and they're automatically converted.
Good early game boost for your magic crops: you probably have a ton of apatite and nitre lying around uselessly. You can make it into just an absurd about of phyto-gro, and spam click it on your botany pots. Sadly it doesn't work with a dispenser :( But it's faster than using time in a bottle.
@@GirishManjunathMusic ah, my bad. I hadn't gotten that far in the eps yet. Honestly he's done a lot of things he normally wouldn't do this entire series.
if you wanted 8 or 9 seeds to a planter, then you could use a drawer controller to allow more seeds to be stored and it could work almost the same as it does now :)
Because... it was wired by Dire 😁😁 So technically, any wiring carried out by Direwolf20, however neat, would be "Direwire" because it's _Dire's_ _wire_ . Any similarity to other possible meanings of the word "dire" is entirely coincidental.
Both my oceanblock worlds broke at some point with java thread blocking. It doesn't crash, it's just unplayable. I suspect it's Refined Storage when total storage exceeded several million items.
Refined Storage can be quite a power hog. in my world it got to a consumption of almost 4000 RF/t, i need a whole diesel generator from Immersive engineering just to keep that running. The reason why is quite obvious, alot of importers and exporters, external storages and crafters, but the most expensive power wise are the constructors and destructors, for the mineralis ritual from astral sorcery.
You should really use compacting drawers instead and just put a void upgrade on. It's not like you're ever going to need several stacks of metal blocks at one time or the uncompressed equivalent in ingots or nuggets. Also at this point it isn't that hard to auto craft a ton of 64k storage units and have 512k item storage space available. You wouldn't need to compress items or use external storage at that point
dire forgets about how useful compacting drawers are with automation. Why make a recipe for ingots to blocks and ingots to nuggets when a drawer can do it all. Same goes for compressed cobble etc. But also the chunks do the same as well which is nice
How many powah solar panels can you use at once? If you look at real world solar farms they take up a significant amount of space. Could you do the same thing with powah solar panels? How resource intensive are they?
Does this pack have Compact Machines? Or whatever it is called. The ones with the single block that has a mini dimension inside to allow you to build machines inside it to save space? Cause that might be perfect for power generation.
It's made in a Culinary Station from Culinary Construct. Dire had a ton of meat from when he used blessed earth and had tons of passive mobs. Something I did was to make a 9x9 patch of blessed earth and stick a mob grinder on it - it gives all 5 types of meat stored in storage drawers (with a void upgrade - you get far more than you need). Put that, along with bread and you've got a highly saturated food source.
We are on episode 22 and you still haven't put this thing on a playlist. I could make one and then watch everything but then I would be wanting to watch more than the guy who made it wants me to watch and that's way too much
I say cover the entire roof with solar panels. Actually I just had this dumb idea of SOLAR FRICKIN' ROAD WAYS!" ie...solar panels, as the foot traffic paths, just to pay homage to that scam/meme/failed design.
If you did not know there is a really cool experty pack made by the create devs centered around the mod that just came out if you are interested. Just thought I'd mention it because I think you love that mod. (BTW The name of the pack is create: above and beond.)
