Dire, stop voiding the seeds; use the seed reprocessor to get more essence out of your excess. Also, you left your efficiency tier 2 in the output of the plant gatherer, *and* your trash can and output plug into the main power network still have limits set. I'm just waiting for the inevitable reactor kablooey because your trash can can't sink enough power.
What makes you think he'd ever release an episode that makes him look like a complete idiot and ends the series? I bet at least once he's blown up already and loaded from backup.
@@Khronosian true. He restored from backup anyway. I get that the corpse run and cleanup would have been a pain, but we still have a chance to see a meltdown as he hasn't fixed either of the flaws in his reactor system.
Direwolf20 -- You left your eff 2 upgrade in the harvest slots not in the upgrade slots because the eff 1 was in there your shift click pushed it into there instead. 34:54
Another good way to grow quickly that I've found is using phyto-soil combined with thermal's phyto-soil infuser. It works alongside the accelerators and is definitely faster than using even insanium farmland instead.
Energy upgrades in the separator are only useful if you want it to have more battery. Mekansim follows the laws of thermodynamics, and making the hydrogen cheaper would make that a power positive reaction and would break that.
On most modpack loading screens, some of the modded minecraft tips is "Only need an item once, automate it anyways!" "Don't need an item, automate it anyways!"
A quick tip which i found really helpful: The Mekasuit with the oxygen unit counts as having a full scuba suit. Meaning you don't have to worry about mining fatigue and slowness anymore while swimming. Additionally you are pretty much invincible (fought a chaos dragon without losing any health using a full Mekasuit + Draconic chestplate for flight)
"Nobody told me this was a curio!" Dire, we've been telling you for days. There's even a dedicated jetpack curio slot, so it doesn't have to take up a generic curio slot.
@@martindinner3621 From Dire's point of view in time, that just means he will keep seeing people tell him its a curio for the next 20 videos after he already put it in a curio slot :P
You could also try the hydroponic beds from industrial foregoing to handle his uranium seed/essence problem. would just involve a quicky ether gas set up. but they work WONDERFULLY. and can easily be set up with Xnet.
I tried these on my server, and mind you they didn't have the ether gas available at the time, but it caused me to lose seeds. They don't seem to always return a seed when harvested by the harvester, causing you to eventually run out of seeds of whatever you've planted. Maybe it's different with the ether gas setup. I do have ether now, but I've noticed it is incredibly slow production, not sure if I'm going to need multiple wither setups to keep up.
@@pantheis I haven't noticed any issues thus far. I used 25 of them for strictly inferium and have no loss thus far. I built it inside of a compact machine and chunk loaded it. I do have ether gas and has kept up just fine if you have all the upgrades in the laser drills. Each bed only holds 10mb ether gas at a time. Maybe the loss is server side since I am in single player?
@@Dbubbles96 I've got my setup also inside a compact machine and chunk loaded. Each hydroponic machine has tier 2 speed, production, and efficiency upgrades, as does the plant sowers and gatherers. With this setup, I eventually run out of whatever seed they're planting. I ended up replacing all of them with hopper botany pots as I didn't have ether gas yet. I'll try them again since I have ether gas now.
get the processing add-on also. It makes the machine do multiple operations each cycle. like harvesting 3 plants at once. or planting more than 1 seed at a time
Hi Dire! Two things - In our game we turn the Blursed Earth spawner on and off by breaking one block at the center base of one wall and pouring a bucket of water in. Mobs won't spawn if the Blursed Earth is covered in water, and water doesn't destroy it. Then just take the water back with a bucket to turn it back on. Ours is a little smaller, so not sure you can turn yours off with just one bucket from a wall, but thought I would mention it. Also, instead of voiding the seeds from your Mystical Agriculture you might want to look at sending them to a Seed Reprocessor. It will turn each seed into its essence instead. Thanks for the playthrough! We (my husband and I) are loving it and using some of the ideas in our world. :)
If the waste barrels are relatively even, you can just take a fullness reading off of one, you don't need to take an aggregate reading! No idea how Mekanism balances between barrels if more are added the network, but it's something to think about
Could put a big enough tank on the incoming line being first, and having it export to the barrels, when the line back fills the tank fills. And you could read off just that one tank, with the storage size giving you time.
You only need 1500 HDPE sheets for each singularity. 23 stacks plus 24. He has enough space, and if he throws one of each upgrade tier in he can make hundreds of singularities.
As far as the Radioactive Waste Barrels are concerned, you're NEVER gonna fill up the Ultimate Pressurized Pipes, with the number that you put down, so no worries. They seem to be just as well-shielded against radiation as the barrels.
I would love to finally after ages see a reactor computer again. I have the feeling Direwolf just... Quickly techs up, and then ends the series. Unlike in the old times where we got looooots of creative and fun contraptions. We got mining turtles, and red power mining drills, and computers, and complex reactor systems. Do I remember right about the IC2 electric fence mob killer? But nowadays dire is just teching up "like always" and... That's it. Yeah some minor adjustments, different ways to do mob farm, switch between AE and RS, some new mods. But overall it feels like quick progression and that's it. Get automated mining, get mob farm, get more energy, get good armor, the end. I remember years back when youtubers would still keep playing their world for years, even though new minecraft version was out, and even though they could already have everything they need. I remember computerized tree houses, reactor complexes, dedicated bases for oil and other resources and transport systems. Today its just tech up and repeat.
There were times where like 6 or more episodes were spent on building a reactor, making it look nice, build the computer systems and infrastructure for automated refilling and shutdown and monitoring and only enabling on demand. Today its just a means to an end, plop down a platform, build a reactor on top to get power, 2 episodes and done, onto the next task in order to progress further. But also things just became easier, no need to disable reactor when fuel is unlimited and excess energy is voided and energy storage is basically infinite anyway, reactor refueling is just simply pumping in a fluid, the reactor itself emits the signal that shuts it down if something goes wrong.
Except for one thing. The electrolytic separator will happily accept the energy upgrades, but they have zero effect on power used, so I think they only increase the energy buffer. :-(
For the % waste filled idea would putting a detector on one of the barrels work? instead of detecting each individual barrel because they’re all connected to the pipes and should balance with an equal amount of waste?
@@smallquant7650 thats an all or nothing solution.. either theres nothing in the pipes, so the barrels could be empty or they could be at 99.9% full, or there is something in the pipes and the barrels are 100% full.. detecting a barrel is the better option
Concerns: Yes, your flux plug connected to the energy trash can would not be able to handle the amount of power that you are generating, once you fill the battery KABOOM!!! Double your potato output. Tick accelerating is fun, but won't solve the long term problem, and 1 hopper pot and some dirt is cheap.
Dire, you can still make your ethylene production better so that it never stops like that. I believe I stated in your last video that if you turned the potatoes into baked potatoes before crushing them, you get 7 biofuel instead of 5, making it an almost 20% increase in production of ethylene and you actually backstuff on potatoes. Also Dire, the top tier farmland is not supremium, it's insanium- the purple essence, not the red essence.
The Induction Smelter won't auto output until you click the blue down arrow. It defaults to auto output off. Dire might have to upgrade the machine to enable auto output, too, unless that's something that was changed.
If you were able to measure the amount of waste in the barrel farthest away on the pipe line with a comparator for instance that would give you a redstone signal to shut the reactor down once the barrels are full
@direwolf20 Don't forget to fully chunk load the underwater barrel area, it's partly outside of your already loaded section. No point in having all those extra barrels if you can't actually use them, right?
So Elevators look like they have a new feature (I haven’t tested it as I don’t have the need and I’m kinda lazy) not only can they go up and down but it looks like they can do a wonkavator (well nearly) it looks like they can also move you in the Cardinal directions too.
Does anyone know if Dire has mentioned any changes he plans to do to 9x9 build now that mobs only spawn in light level 0 in 1.18 for future? Since he can keep mobs away with a single torch?
As far as he's mentioned to anyone, he really dislikes the look of torches on the floor. If, however he were to use a lantern, he might like the look of it better that way, but he also almost never shoots vanilla videos, so it might be a while before we get to that point.
Who cares about 1.18. This is a 1.16 mod pack and only for 1.16. Even if the modding community plays with 1.18, dont expect a modpack for easily 3 months...
And if he doesn't do anything about it it's gonna blow eventually, since he bumped up the reactor to over a Million RF and the default limit is set to 800k... At least right now he's definitely gonna run out of Fuel before his battery is full ;)
I love just reading the comments and everybody trying to backseat game. Like damn guys, just let the man play. Really the only useful thing that’s happening from all these comments is his CPM is going up because comments make the video more recommended
i would of done the uranium seeds in there own plot of seeds with 1 sower n plant harvester with max growth accelerators going all the way down to 64 blocks away.
I have my reactor island chunk loaded, but whenever I move back to my main base the water vanishes, the temp rises and the reactor switches off (while also taking over 150% damage). Edit: I think I fixed it, I'd only claimed the chunks, I hadn't force-loaded them.
Maybe a weird question, could you just throw a container of that useless waste into lava or like throw it at a cactus, and get completely rid of it, because minecraft reasons?
@@The_terrible_gamer There are Item Trash Cans, There are Fluid Trash cans, There are Energy Trash Cans, and there is the Ultimate Trash Can. But what I've been told, is that none of those trash cans handle the Nuclear Waste that is a gas.
The mod author made absolutely sure that the ONLY way you can get rid of the spent nuclear waste is to store it in those barrels and slowly let it dissipate- which it does do. You would just need to find the ratio for how much the barrels dissipate per tick vice how much nuclear waste you are making per tick to make it efficient enough for your use. I seem to remember the ratio being at 100:1 for barrels to buckets produced, but it's been a bit since I've looked at the code myself.
10:17 I will never understand the reasoning of the dev who had the idea: lets make a mob that forces you to sleep. In a game thats all about having choices, the take the choice to sleep away from you. The angered me for so long, destroying my armor and getting on my nerves, i searched the command to just remove them from my game. Very disapointing mojang.
i've done a small amount of looking, and i will experiment in my own world when i get to this point, but couldnt you just put the nuclear waste in the fluid trashcan?
I've never done it, but maybe? Put the waste in the "waste can" (don't remember the name) and when full, use a mekanism box to move it and throw it in the trash? Supposing you can't liquiphy with the condensentrator and thrash the liquid? Not tried neither of those, tbh ...
It's labeled as a gas and will not void due to the mod author explicitly coding it that way. They made absolutely sure that you NEED the hazmat barrels in order to void them, which if I remember correctly is set at an interval of 1mB/second/barrel. Meaning, if you had multiple barrels like Dire has, that 1mB per second is more like 12mBs per second (for 12 barrels).
couldn't you fluid trash can / gas trash can the spent nuclear waste? i actually haven't tried it or seen it done but i know those trash cans exist in some modpacks.
Man you really commented on like 4 separate videos about the same thing, surprise, surprise, people like to do things their own way. Maybe Dire is different but I personally can’t stand backseat gaming
can you not pipe the waste into a trash can or some other voiding block? i never used this kind of reactor but that's the first thing that pops into my head.
