OCS | Making Marine Officers 

I went this winter, got to week 7, dropped due to pneumonia, OCS is tough. I won't be going back. Update, I might be going back this fall.

US Army guy here, went thru O.C.S. at Ft. Benning 1967, It was not fun, no sleep, tough but I made it. You Marines are just great.

The tough thing about OCS is that the Sgt Instructors throw a lot of stuff at the candidates, the curriculum is the stress monster. As a Prior successful Drill Instructor and Sgt Instructor, I have to say Enlisted boot camp is tougher.

Holy moly. I served in Afghanistan in OEF 12.1 with the Asian guy at the end of this video who was at the front of the formation. He's the one with seven ribbons on. I thought about reenlisting and was going through RU-vid to see what branches had the most challenging officer course and I guess this is a sign. Will have to connect with a Marines recruiting station to get started on the process.

How difficult is it for an enlisted Marine to be accepted to get college assistance to get a Bachelors Degree and become an officer?

Man, you just don't know on I'am so blessed to hear USMC IS ON TRACT IN THE MODIVATION OF OUR YOUNG MAN and WOMEN of today. Yes we must be 'ready', but its so deep Men & Women Marines being in support of one another !! I want you to know I was trying to be a Marine/Navy Chaplain for the Marines Corps and ran into a problem with the Seminary I was going to, and still this day l have not gotten over it. 💔 no one understood that I wanted to work/minister to the Marines. So you Navy/Marine Chaplains, stay on the battlefield in your Ministering to our Marines. Who am I, a nobody trying to help sobody see 'Jesus' who is the author and 'Finisher of 'our' Faith'. I do not want leave out our Navy/Marine, Aviators........Semper Fidelis........Min. T.L.W.

My son served Marine Corps for eight years and he won many awards and scholarships and now days he is a Civil Ingenier .Thanks to US.Marines Corps.

Was thinking about going officer, ex-marine father wants me to do it too, but college just isn’t for me, and enlisted feels like home. I do agree in the long run, officer is probably the better route to go, but my heart is just set on enlisted. Any comments that will help me sleep at night haha?
