Bear Bryant retired then died a month after this season. I remember Paterno saying he kept coaching into old age partly because he didn't want to die shortly after retiring like Bear did. But it happened to him too.

Back in those days that was were they played most of there games that's where Alabama and Auburn played all their games when Bear Bryant was coach .
