I can't _believe_ a JRPG actually did the "every character at once thing" I've been wanting in one for years and years. It's insanely cool with insanely fun mechanics.
Lets be honest, it's not 100% perfect. The perfect way should be with having an unique party of 8 people instead of 2 parties of 4 people each. I don't mind buffing the boss to compensate such overpowereness.
@@ShawnMadeInUSA Want me to blow your mind? The order of the Moonshade members spells OCTOPATH in reverse to the traveler they oppose. Harvey-Osvald Trousseau-Casti Arcanette-Temenos Petrichor-Ochette Ori-Partitio Tanzy-Agnea Claude-Throne Oboro-Hikari

Daughter of the Dark God sounded imposing and impossible, like it was insurmountable to defeat Galdera. This theme almost sounds triumphant, like "This may be a massively formidable foe, but think of how far you've come!"
Daughter of the Dark God I feel is more subtle, this is much more in your face. Like the whole number is screaming at you, demanding you to witness its overwhelming power.
@@JarahKnuckey You misunderstand. I actually prefer Vide's theme over Galdera. You just feel more power and raw emotion from "Those Who Deny the Dawn".
I mean, Octopath and Bravely Default are effectively old-school FF’s successors, given that the franchise has long-since moved away from turn-based RPG’s.
@@nikolaikolev8433 I would hardly say that it's dead. I think a better way to phrase it would be that the series has just taken on a new identity. I absolutely understand why some people are upset about this, but... Well, again, SE has other options for turn-based RPG's these days.
honestly I have no idea why people give attention to awards. they'll always elect media that fits the hegemonically accepted structure of a game, movie, series etc.. no desire, all money.
This game has banger osts that deserve an award, if only it's not released in the same year as FFXVI. Listen to "Ascension" from FFXVI and come back to see my point.
I'd love to see a Pokemon game do what Ochette's story does, by making the starter Pokemon that doesn't get chosen by either you or your rival get scooped up by the villain group of the game (be it Team Rocket, Team Plasma, Team Galactic, or whatever), be boosted to level 200, and serve as the True Final Boss of the game requiring cooperation from both you and your rival to take down.
“Alright, it’s the final battle, are you ready, Castii?” *hauls bag filled with a literal metric ton of random medicinal reagents* “Yup, I’m ready to randomly throw drugs at all of you for hopefully beneficial effects.” “You’re POSITIVE you’re a real doctor?” “Yup.”
Falcom likes to do it too, Trails to Azure got something similar to this and it also slaps. If you're curious, symphonic/operatic metal is an actual genre and you can look it up
Yo when it got to that final phase of the battle, and they brought every character to fight at once, that was such an epic moment for me playing this game. OT2 is just amazing in general, story, gameplay, characters and soundtrack were so good
This song is absolutely beautiful, the entire theme is just beyond awesome, the melody and the orchestral rock instruments created a magnificent atmosphere, the singer is a musical beast, 0:30 2:11 just wow Everything works magnificently but that guitar part at 1:07 and 1:36, it's just so good Thank you wholeheartedly for having uploaded that unique treasure
I do like this final boss theme and the difficulty of the fight more than the original. I did not expect Galdera to be as tough as they are. But this theme gives you both the dread of fighting a god and also gives you that part where it sounds like you are rising up. And to be clear, I loved Galdera's fight as being difficult, just for it being the optional final boss it felt way harder than it should be and it was a great change of pace from the other RPGs out there. Also loved the theme for Galdera just feeling very threatening and overwhelming because that is what Galdera was. Probably why I love Octopath and Bravely Default. Their music is both amazing and also fits the mood they want.
@@Sharkenite that my friend was the final boss of the first game, Galdera. Rough fight but completely optional. You get a minor amount of lore for beating him.
@John-ui3iy that was in fact galdera you fought, the sheer audacity of making a games superiors the PREVIOUS game's final boss really caught me off guard (and yes, galdera was about that tough in octopath 1 as well. Lol)
I have to say your thumbnail never fails to make me laugh ! Anyway, this game was an absolute BLAST. I finished it last June and I have to say, this is as peak as a sequel can get. Loved every bit of it !!!
I remember hearing this for the first time and getting insane Fire Emblem: Three Houses vibes. Because, y'know...God-Shattering Star. Kinda makes sense, too, since both Vide and Nemesis were portrayed as these astoundingly powerful divine/semi-divine beings hell-bent on drowning their respective worlds in unending darkness and destruction. Likewise, it was only through the power of friendship--and _full_ parties--that both could be defeated. I'm a huge fan of "full party" final boss fights like that. Alliance Raids in FFXIV, especially the Endwalker raids, are another great example that really drive home the sheer disparity in power between your party and the single entity you're fighting (and yes, I know there's a big difference between single-player JRPGs and MMOs).
@@spellsnareBecause it's the only way to distinguish between someone uploading music and someone playing the game. Should they take down other videos where people play through the game without microphones? No, they shouldn't. And the only line to draw is that if there's gameplay then it's fine
I literally ran through a wall when i saw i was getting to play cotc on my ps5. ABSOLUTE LEGENDS for giving us cotc gameplay in 2 too. I hope 3 is literally just cotc combat from the jump, and for the entire game
I wished the fight had unique dialogue when you max boosted like during chapter final bosses. It might be cliche but stuff like “For the dawn!” Or “Light will prevail!” Would be kinda cool
@atew8277 I know its been a few months, but any chance of at least a 10-minute loop of Vide the Wicked? Everyone else out there just skips right past the song for this banger, but they're a pair! They go together!
@@atew8277 you are a true champion. I use the long versions for my tabletop campaign and having songs that loop for at least 10 to 15 minutes is a godsend. Thank you!
Heh, I had basically the same exact job combinations, the only exception being a mirror of ochette and hikari. With Ochette Armsmaster and Hunter Hikari
I think everyone uses male pronouns when referring to "him", though "he" has a female voice and also very clearly has tits, so the only way to find out is to see what it says in japanese since localizers once again fucked translations up in this game lmao
Cool gameplay but i feel like ghe music dosent actually fit and i dont actually like it either it sounds weird and not fitting with the gameplay, plus the boss dosent seem to fit with galdera or undead galdera
