College has officially started! I'll probably be busy, but I've finally started to find the motivation to do music again! Perhaps the increased mental requirements of learning various computer science theories has been enough to jolt my mental faculties into a satisfactory state for music making. I admit, however, that I've gotten a bit rusty, which is probably why this song is so simplistic. My head also feels like it's spinning with thoughts a lot of the time, so it's been somewhat difficult to focus.
Anyway, I attempted somewhat to capture a gradual descent into madness with this piece; I felt the repeated bass figure combined with the slow addition of more sections and increasing volume help illustrate that. I probably could have added a fourth repetition to that primary theme to add more symmetry, but I kind of like the odd number of repetitions.
