yep me I use too watch rift s setup videos but we refunded the rift s since the setup in the pc broke and we got the quest 2 today in 24 dec 2020 gonna come in 7 or 5 days
I asked my dad for one, the day it came out and i had only 250 dollars so i asked him for the 64G. Well, guess what! He just ordered me the 256 and he didnt even take my money, happy birthday to me!
I am in my 80's and have been in the computer field my entire life - since way back in the mid 1960's. I had read in tech journals about all the excitement regarding the Oculus Quest 2, so why not go for it! Your video is perfect as an intro to an amazing technological marvel. Many thanks.
I understand the excitement from the younger crowd like us but I can’t even believe how amazing it must be for someone who has seen all types of technological advances go on. In my eyes, while this is newer technology it’s all I’ve ever really known. I can’t imagine how it must feel to see so many upgrades and technology breakthroughs you must’ve seen.
If you guys get stuck on the black loading screen during the set up just hold the power button until it says restart and power, then just select restart
This video is perfect for us newbies. Thanks! Some of the other "how-to" videos get so technical and provide a bunch of info that really means nothing to a beginner. This was easy to follow and too the point! Well done 👍🏽
Just wanted to share a little hurdle I came across when pairing the quest 2. I already had the Oculus app on my phone from my previous headset and when I went to Pair it it didn't show the quest 2 and after digging around for an hour I found out that if you had an Android phone I needed to close it and reinstall it and then it showed up. Hope this helps somebody.
@@Bettie_Rage you might have fixed this, but it might have to do with your Ipd. Try changing up the lenses' distance between them, and if none of the built in settings work for you, you can actually set it between 2 settings and it'll work just fine!
Well when I can use drawn tracking im either out side (dont @ me i know how to do it safely, and i barely do it anyways I'm very protective of my quest even when im inside against the windows i gotta keep em safe from the sunlight) or in my living room (because thats the only room in my house thats big enough to even let me use floor tracking) and so I usually have funiture around that I draw a little bit around, i dont like always seeing my playspace, so i have the sensitivity turned down but just enough so if my hand goes near it it activates and i have it off the walls. We have little dogs around the house i cant rrally use it the way id want i have to peek out the nose hole to make sure i don't step on anything. Often times I just use the little circle.
Thank you so much. I'm a total beginner, didn't even know what "VR" was an acronym for 5 days ago. Dove down the rabbit hole and arose deciding Oculus was the way to go. Anyone else?
I’ve been watching VR from afar since I tried it at my brothers house for the first time back in 2016. Yesterday I ordered my own very first VR headset and have been watching these videos on the quest 2 to get me up to speed. I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface and can’t wait till my package arrives. Down the rabbit hole we go! Wishing happy VR adventures to you
@@bessienvel09 dont worry if you have friends to help you out then ask them or anyone online really! I'm sure you will get it just be careful with it and don't rush into anything crazy
Just got my oculus. It's a great system. I have the Vive and live it, but I'm also loving the cordless freedom the quest has to offer! Alot more "jump in and go" friendlier than my vive setup.
I wish I would have seen this video before I set up my Oculus Quest 2 and went directly to a roller coaster game! 24 hours later, I am still motion sick!!
Thanks for the information. I’m 65 and this is my first game set I have ordered for myself. My great grandson is excited to play games with me. He has his own set. Well here goes checking this from my bucket list and looking forward to having fun. ❤️✌🏼
Are you having fun, its hilarious my mum is 60 and is never interested in any games, but the VR headset has made games playable in a way that makes sense. Shes been having a great time, its been great fun watching her getting in to superhot lol!
My Oculus has just been delivered. It's my first VR experience and I can't believe what I'm seeing. Absolutely blown away by this. Thanks for the vid. Really helped me to get started.
Can you play The quest from your phone or do you have to have a PC? The reason I ask is because I don't know it may PC and I want to buy the quest and play it off my phone.
@@LaylahIsMyWorld The oculus quest 2 is a standalone VR device that connects to your wifi internet, you do not need a PC, you will use a smartphone to pair it to the oculus app however, and you must have a facebook account sadly but thats how it is. It does have the ability to connect to a pc if you would like to play steam VR games as well though.
i just tried this oculus quest 2 thing at a friends house.... and it was the first time i ever played with a VR headset..... and i was and still am blown away by how freaking awesome it was!!!! i wanna get one now so bad and i knew they would be cool but man i had no idea how cool it really was and how much fun it is.....
I’ve been saving money for four years (i’m only 13 that’s why it took so long to save up my money and I don’t get allowance) and I’ve been looking for something to spend it on I was going to get the oculus quest one next year but I ended up getting the Oculus 2 the date came out
Day One adopter of PSVR five years ago, finally picked up Quest 2 yesterday. The biggest selling point for me is the fact it is cable free, no sensors or camera required.
2:13 It's weird that the third warning "Facbook-Konoto erforderlich" is in german, even though they can't sell the headset in Germany. EDIT: Yeah, I know that there are different countries that speak german... Obviously Germany is by far the largest market for german speaking people though. Since they can't sell here, I'd assume something like spanish would be a better choice for the third language. But yeah, they probably didn't know in time. The box was probably designed before the sale ban was known.
@@unpopularshaun395 also oculus rift is offsale now which is really sad as you can't play for example roblox as oculus quest doesn't have a PC connect, unless of course if you buy a link cable
Oculus struck gold with this one. It’s perfect for new VR players and casual VR players. Even maybe more hardcore VR players due to the fact it can connect to a PC. They did a great job with the pricing along other things.
Do you have to play on PC or could you play it on your regular phone as well or any tablet? The reason I'm asking is because I don't have a I don't own a PC
@@lukepayne7657 yeah but i was actually going to buy it on christmas and it would suck if it goes out of stock at this period. also i don't really like preordering stuff as it is (most of the time) not as good as the marketing said
I've loved VR but only got to play it about once a year at my grandfather's house... now I'm getting a quest 2 and I am so excited. I will now binge videos and do extensive amounts of research.
@@justaewok215 i've had no problems with it thus far, i love it, There are some comfort issues behind the ears though cuz they will get sore but other than that its pretty good
This is one of the best introductions to a piece of hardware I've seen. Sort enough to not scare anyone away yet gives in a very clear manner what is required. Well done.
Am I the only one who thought the quest 1 sucked? I bought it, and the pain was unwithstandable after 20 minutes, blurry at almost all angles, frontheavy, laggy in vr chat, etc, etc. Glad oculus 2 fixed a lot of the problems
UvU OwO might have been a you problem. Personally, the experience was marvelous for me. The headset might not work for some people. But hey, if you are gonna buy a Quest 2, I hope you are happy with it!
I just wanted to say a quick thank you for all the VR videos you have done. You're hands down one of the best and I love the easy going and chipper attitude you always seem to have. The world needs more people like you in it.
So the hard thing is, even if it does fail, it will fail slowly as billions have been invested in it. Personally i'm a fan in every way I didn't think I would be. We finally are getting to the resolution we really need to be at and it is getting very affordable. Looking foward to more vr goodness.
Very helpful. I was frustrated by the "hold down the start button." I kept just pushing it, and NOTHING happened. Then you walked me through, and wow, mind blown! Thanks a bunch.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to explain what to do & what to look for out of the box. I have been searching for an information video & here we are, you. Again thank you for demystifying everything.
I've been a pc gamer for 22 years and I'm getting a quest 2 in two days. Just being honest, I'm very excited but nervous at the same time. I've never touched a VR system in my life other than the virtual boy nearly 30 years ago at a friends house.
I got the oculus quest about 20 days ago not knowing of the new one, because of your video of the leak I managed to sell it the same day with profit 👌👌 then got oculus quest 2 with the pro strap + battery pack for the price of my quest and I got €6.30 left 👌👌👌👌 thank you ❤️❤️
Hi, I am new to the oculus quest 2. My question is, I am handicap in my left hand. Missing fingers and mobility. Are there games that only require the right control. Or a way to configure it system to do so. Thanks.
@@jamesJones-lo2nc Yeah man, there aren't many fast-paced games you can do like Pavlov or beat saber with one hand, but people like myself like slower games such as PokerStars and VR chat where can you can just chill and play some games. I don't believe there are any setting configurations for one-handed people, but don't let that spoil your fun.
@@roadchill1k721 well thanks for the quick response. Not really interested in fast pace games either. Haven't explore yet, still getting familiar with it web surfing, RU-vid etc. The only thing I tried was some Rollercoaster. So thanks. And be safe.
I was surprised you didn't have to put your phone in the headset. I loved the Wii being able to move more than just sitting there. Thanks for the video, because without it I wouldn't know anything about what I was buying, and I probably wouldn't have bought it
Had the psvr since 2016 but saw the quest 2 coming out and no pc needed so really excited to be playing something that doesn't have trashy tracking and not being really heavy meaning I can only really play for about 10 minutes before I get tired.
I’m saving up for an oculus quest two, I’ll be back when I get it 😌 Edit: alright so once I finish my tests I will be getting it ahh I’m so excited Edit: ITS ARRIVING TOMORROW Edit: ITS HERE
@@lordreaper7569 I know, the sad part is these how-to vids skim through the most basic parts and never seem to explain the areas where MOST people are getting stuck :/
U deserve way more subscribers than you think. I mean SERIOUSLY, you tell people what they need to know about vr before hopping into that world. And I may or may not start a vr channel soon. Thanks for teaching us about vr man.
Got my oculus last night and let me tell you it’s amazing I was so lost the first 20 mins literally forgot I was on earth Just bought the elite strap too can’t wait to play more only bad thing is the 2 hour battery life wish there was at least 5 hours
You're better off buying your own battery, i bought a 20100mah, should keep me gaming far longer than the onboard plus the strap with battery. Much cheaper too
@@Posts_Comments you and me bro ill just buy the regular elite strap and mount my anker 10,000 mah battery .... that stupid little battery they offer extra 2 hours is a joke we need 8+ extra hours .... $130 for what ?
Mike. Some recommendations for a future video that I, and I believe many others, would find super helpful based on the same questions coming up in Reddit: For Quest 1 owners that are buying a Quest 2, there seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation regarding: Can both headsets use the same copy of a game? Do some games need 2 copies, but others 1? Do I need 2 FB accounts, 1 for each headset? 2 FB on the same phone? Headsets vs phones vs games.. when do you need 1 vs more than one? Same or different for multilayer games? Can one copy of a game be played simultaneously? Maybe some sort of chart may be most useful to understand the relation between all these different scenarios??? LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! - Mark
I suspect these are questions we won't know much about until any NDA is lifted - there's no way we have been told EVERYTHING about these headsets yet - I have heard various reports about poor tracking, poor display... I'd like to think that the game is accessible on the HMD for all users, regardless of account... but then I guess it depends on if FB link the purchase to the account, the headset, or both.
Excellent walk-through video for first timers (like me and my kids)! The overview and steps helped take the apprehension away. Thanks so much for posting your video! Happy Holidays from the Outer Banks of North Carolina!
So my oculus quest was having charging problems and I asked my parents if they could go use the warranty to fix it and then when they came back they switched it out for oculus quest 2,Early Christmas I suppose :)
@@cuscaX200 I want it to be like how walking is in irl because if u try to walk normally u end up hitting something they should make a thing we're u can run sit bend down turn around in one spot they ALLREADY have one but it's only for 1 dumb gsme
Mate, When installing the prescription/plano lenses on Quest II, are there rings around the HMD's lenses to pop off before installation, like with the original Quest; or, can the prescription/plano lenses be inserted straight away? I've got a pair of plano protectors to prevent those magical microscratches from manifesting on my Quest. Thanks for any insight.
