I was lucky enough to be in the first wave of people to receive the second Oculus Rift development kit and a lot of you wanted to see an unboxing as well as some gameplay, enjoy!

Haha! It's an awesome song man, fits my channel and content really well. I almost always use Monstercat label stuff (Televisor, Au5, Stephen Walking to name a few)

Thanks for the update, Martyn, but the problem I have with unboxings like this is, the experience. No matter how well the person does their unboxing/review of items like the Oculus Rift, it's hard for a people to really understand, I assume, how amazing and cool it really is. That being said, it is interesting to see the developmental changes that have occurred from the previous Rift, so thanks again for the vid :)

That quilted effect is from the screen they use. It is from a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (from iFixIt) which uses a pentile display. That means instead of RGB pixels, it's RGBG pixels.

There's this amazing item on kickstarter called the Cyberith Virtualizer. Martyn, do you plan on getting this? It allows you to WALK in the game.

I wonder if they will make Oculus its own console. So we can download games from the internet and it goes straight onto the oculus. Imagine just putting the oculus on and walking through a game store and just picking a game to buy and play!

It supports mobile phones which would allow you to take it out. Samsung are working with Oculus on their own mobile focused VR Headset called the Gear VR.

It would be awesome if they had a phone Oculus with room position sensing/GPS and AR cameras so you could literally walk somewhere and see stuff. Or have it so you can scan a QR code at a location and it generates a VR ping-pong table or something.

For people who use the rift simulator link thing, make sure to click the 'low persistence' button, as the DK2 uses an OLED screen that mostly solves the persistence issue. It looks much better without the fading problem.

well I've already got a dk1, and i don't think it's worth getting the dk2, not because it's bad, but because, like martyn said, there are still lines, which really do effect the gameplay because those lines remind you you're setting infront of a pc, so when the official 4k one comes out, i'll buy that one, if you're a consumer like me, i would do the same.

I saw that the adapter comes with an hdmi cable attached to it. Does my graphic card need to have an hdmi-input? Is it possible to use an hdmi-to-dvi adapter?

I got my DK2 today! It only works on the official demos though :| I get no display on anything else that supports DK2, the tracking works in them though

Are you going to continue among the sleep with the new oculus? Or have you just dropped the series completely? I am just wondering, as I really liked the series. If that's how gameplay really looks with the 2 eye holes than that really sucks cause it likes you have 4 eyes 2 of which have their sane view. I'd like it if it were just 1 full screen.

This and Morpheus need to really deliver. Personally my bet is on the Morpheus delivering the better overall product just because it has the might of Sony behind it.
