I have the Oculus VR Development Kit 1 and DK 2 here, so i thought why not do a little review and comparison ? I have been testing them for over a year and today i want to tell you my personal experience in Virtual Reality.
I really love the Oculus Rift, I love where VR is going, and I can't wait for the consumer version of the best reality glasses ever.

Do you need a good web cam for dev kit one to have the forward and backward movement or will any do no matter how slow and shit it is? And is it better worse or exactly the same as dev kits 2s forward and backward movement using a web cam?

PC Gameplay nah sadly the dk2 needs an ir sensor for the led on the face of it. Im not sure that any old webcam can do it. The dk1 doesnt have ir led or ir sensors is uses magnetometers and gyroscopes only and doesnt have positional tracking like the dk2 uses because of the ir tracking setup. There are now ways around it with 3rd party add ons and home made led trackers. Vr ia truly becoming a very modular beast.

i have got a dk2 and i have played loads of demos on it and its never made me sick maybe it's because it depends on how fast your pc or your laptop is

***** not really. it depends on the person. I have a very fast pc too with i7 6 core and 32GB DDR4 + GTX 970 but i get motion sick in euro truck too.

Waiting patiently for the preorders to go up i heard a rumour apparently from Palmer himself that the oculus will probably be more expensive then dev kit 2 though... Which is a shame you think they'd make it cheaper with a bunch of competition coming you'd think they'd want to get into as many peoples homes as possible before Valve and Sony even launch there headsets...

Valve's headset will most likely cost more and Sony is launching exclusively for the PS4. Oculus is cheap if you think about it. An iPhone is about the same price, and cost less to make... Stop complaining, it's new tech.

running the dk2 on a laptop better graphics card with 6GB and well more Memory 16gb processor is i7 6 core that is why i don't get sick using dk2 on this laptop

It depends on the game.No real specs. Duke 3d VR works on almostt every PC while other games need better specs

I know you posted this 4 years ago, but if you have vr nowadays then if you have Windows 10 edition, it's built in, but if you have Java edition, there is a mod that someone made called vivecraft
