Oddworld: Soulstorm - Slig Revolution Scene (Sligs shoot Glukkon Bosses) 

One of my favourite scenes in the game haha. I kind of want a game where we just play as the Sligs and go on a revolution! Say what you want about sligs but they understand a simple concept: you get what you pay for.

I love how in the ending newspapers it pretty much confirms Molluck kept his promise to the Sligs

I love Mullok's expressions when hearing the slig's demands. It takes all his will power not to tell them off and get to work.

"Stay here." "Yes sir." "Yeah, you bet." _"idiot."_

I love how the sligs basically formed a union. Smarter than they look.

I love the fact that the glukkons is so arogant and prideful to the point they wanted to blame mullock then admiting that a mudokons capable to outsmart them all lmao

This cutscene really shows that without their slaves, the Glukkons are indeed powerless and pathetic

It’s the realistic approach to this game that intrigues me like the original just had the factory blow up and kill the glukkons like a bunch of James Bond villains in this they’re gunned down by rogue sligs more believable and terrifying

Villainous Goons: We are loyal to our maniacal boss/overlord/cult leader to the death. Slig Goons: Hey we work with a boss that doesn't screw us over and get paid in the end. Villainous Goons: Wait, you get paid?!

This is why I find Molluck to be kind of likable in Soulstorm. He learned a bit of humility, even let his closest, almost friend, who's a lowly Slig, off when he angred him by speaking a little too freely about his failure at Rupture Farms, which any of the other Glukkons would have likely had him executed for. This is not in the normal nature of his species, so while he's certainly not redeemed, he's at least more relatable now than the others after being forced down a peg and humbled. The fact that he also kept his promise to his new Slig entourage made me smile. Even though this might have just been for self-preservation, it still suggests that he learned to never again take anything for granted, and that it's better to sacrifice a bit of profit to keep a loyal troupe than to skimp on the pay and be surrounded by armed guards who only serve out of fear and are revolutions just waiting to happen.

Sligs may be a bit slow witted, but even they have their limits. You can only watch your buddies lives be thrown away for so long before you finally decide to do something.

As someone who hasn't watched this video and never played nor heard of this game before, the thumbnail looks like a bunch aliens are about to drop the sickest choreographed dance number ever.

They quite literally let their guard down.

So this game literally takes place a day after Oddysee... That's interesting, also I have mad respect for the sligs now they've executed order 66

I still believe that the Pilot Slig and Mullock's most loyal Slig who's got to be the most intelligent Slig I've ever seen in my life is also the same Slig that was struck by lightning in Oddworld Abe's Oddysee and New N' Tasty.

That slig leader is very smart doing all this infront of the others rather then just telling them what was told, also props to molluk i think his name is he doesn't know this so could have told his top slightly to lie but swallowed his pride and I reckon made some very loyaly sligs

Wow, i'm amazed. the artist actually stick to the tone of the originals. This scene feels like it belongs in the world. This consistency is rare. Every video game usually abandons their original style for something more mainstream. This is beautiful.

This game has a very unique approach to its endings and I've never seen anything like it ever done in a video game before. Basically a good ending for Abe is a good ending for Molluck and a bad ending for Abe is a bad ending for Molluck. It hints at the idea that their destinies are somehow intertwined and that there might be a good side to Molluck that we don't yet know of. Lorne Lanning is a genius.

All it's missing is Brewmaster saying "It's not fair! We had twice ze flavourr!" before being brained

Just goes to show that Mullock is one of the smarter Gluks out there. He knows that it’s better to stay on his new hired guns’ good side, now that he’s a fugitive. Dude knows how to play his cards right. And even in Oddysee, Mullock kept a level head in a situation where most Glukkons would panic. We see it in Exoddus, where the Glukkons in charge are freaking out because their profits are taking a hit. Mullock just keeps his cool and devises a new scheme (albeit a brutal one).

Two historical blunders. A: start a landwar in asia. B: Screwing your security team. Always pay the guys with guns.

Never stiff your security detail or else they’ll betray you when someone comes and pays them

I love the idea that the chauffeur went on a stealth mission, saw two groups from different factions/employers, and decided it was perfectly safe to get right in the middle of them and spill his boss's plan.

The Sligs were always my favorites; glad they got some well-deserved screen time.

"Hey guys, you wanna get possessed by that supernatural freak reeking havoc out there. Or are we flying to the Yamans and sipping frosty poladas on a humid beach?" I love how Mullock's Slig says that.

When your enemies turn on your other enemies just sit back and chill.

This scene alone reinforces Abe's words regarding Molluck back in the first game (Abe's Odysee/New n' Tasty): "Molluck was cool. He had a plan." Molluck had a plan ready for his associates reviewing his profits on Rupture Farms (Scrabs & Paramites starting to get scarce? Switch to a more readily available source, the Mudokans), and when Abe started freeing his fellow employees the meanest boss himself had any Mudokans that Abe missed executed. Abe managing to destroy Rupture Farms led to Molluck gathering up whatever he still had on his payroll to hunt him down, and when he escaped he just went and shifted his focus ahead on the executives at the Brewery and FreeCo, correctly figuring that they would blame him for the disaster/uprising going on (it helps that he let his lead guy give him the confirmation AND bribe some backup). And when that same lead guy of his informed him about the backup wanting to be compensated for helping out (legitimately, since those execs were stiffing them on their pay), he gives the confirmation that he'll comply (judging from Molluck's body language, he was willing to go through with it if it gets him results; it is also *very* smart of him to not screw over his own lead guy giving the orders). All of this solidifies Molluck as someone who used any means necessary to be successful, having a backup plan or two ready in case of setbacks, and able to shift his plans where he has to... all pointing to him being a genuine cutthroat bastard that you find yourself both admiring *and* loving for how deliciously he schemes for his own sake. Molluck, you've earned that piece of cake for you and your expanded crew's trip to the Yaymans!

I am a simple slig, if i don't get paid i start blasting

It still blows my mind to see Oddworld getting a theatrical treatment like this. From barely beating it on the ps one as kid and falling in low with their design, to seeing new life being breathed into this series is amazing.

They're essentially a slig labor union. I dig it.

I'm my opinion, this was the best scene in the whole game. The others are AWESOME but this one...this one guys...this is pure gold! I always hoped for something like this when i was a child, i was like:" why must Sligs stay under Glukkon's orders when they can outplay them so easily? Why must they live the horrible lives they are living?" and then, finally, this happened. I am so happy. Would be awesome if Oddworld creates a side story for Mullok, his Slig and the Slig's bros; it would be hilariously fun. I want to go to the Yaymans with them, absolutely.

I love the Sligs so much and this is probably my favourite part of the whole series. Best part of oddworld in my opinion.

Those executive Glukk's got what was coming, make that a lesson to all Glukkons not to screw over their security sligs out of their ot & bonuses or they'll go order 66 on ya. 😂😂😂

It would be great if we would create a DLS where we would have to play for a slig who is trying to avoid punishment and escape, as he progresses, he would understand that those ideals that were stupid into their heads

I love how Molluck is responding to his own Sligs Assurances. His Slig is even Hesitant to keep making Demands. But Molluck just response immediately to the 1st 2 assurances. when they come to an Agreement, Molluck is still in control.( even if it made himself cringe a bit lol ) Simple and Very effective Dialogue combined with the delivery is so good!

I hope Mullock gets "redeemed". Not in the sense that be becomes a good guy, but his actions in this and demeanor through the game makes me think he's close to doing his own thing and going against the Magog Cartel.

"The befuddled look frozen on the Brewmaster's dead face was a vision I would always relish. Even as we pumped him full of lead, the idiot couldn't believe that a bunch of Sliggies were taking his life."

When the sligs started shooting: FOR THE GRACE AND THE MIGHT OF OUR LORD! FOR THE HOME OF THE HOLY! WE REJECT YOUR SWAY ON OUR SOUL! AND PUT LED IN YOUR BELLY!

Moral of the story: Pay your work force, especially if they're armed.

The word sliggies just makes them sound adorable. 😂

Out of the four Glukkons in this game, Molluck's the only smart one.

It was just a matter of time till the Sligs have to unchain themselves from slavery and kill their ignorant glukkon boses. I love this scene. Seeing a real canon Slig order 66 is the best thing Oddworld Inhabitant can do beside a only Slig game. Maybe this scene is just the start of something big for the Sligs. Also this game is really hard when you try to not kill the Sligs.

I’ve never wished a Glukk well before, but now? I kinda hope Moll and the Sligs have a fuckin grand old time down in the Yayman isles, especially if they had the wherewithal to loot the room after gunning down their former bosses.

The ability of collective bargaining is illustrated perfectly here when we see the slings form a union on the spot!

This was such a satisfying scene.

Are we going to ignore the fact that in the scene where the Sligs are about to kill the Gluks, Morgue is using Aslik's body as a meatshield by hiding behind him like a scaredy cat? XD

So remember in the original game you get bad ending when you dont save enough of your buddy? Well for big bosses in this game, they get the bad ending by taking all their bonuses from Sligs for themselves too much. Its like opposite thing.

Dying for your boss or Yay-man islands? They clearly made the best choice. :P

those Glukkon bosses forgot an old saying, " either you pay your boys or someone else will."

Molluk looks like Squidward but sounds like Selvester Stallone (Jersey style). With a personality and hirarchy of SkekSil from The Dark Crystal movie.

These betrayal scenes in movies/games are always so satisfying. Watching the underdogs rise and get the last laugh

When I remember about that scene is how quiet it was after Abe makes a new flavor at the Brewery Captain Slig is sent to investigate on Brewmasters company orders it was a silent trip

The Glukkons are signing their death sentence as they never seems to realize that Muddokons are physically stronger than them and their Sligs and possess Magic which they have forsaken. Once Muddokons start to rebel in the open, the Glukkons will fall easily as they cannot defend themselves.

wish Slings were 40k models. Having a huge army of merc slings would be epic

Shows that Molluck and some sligs, maybe even an albino slig as a main, could star in their own game. Less platformer puzzle, more action shooter. Gotta get that moolah while recruiting sligs and keeping them happy, mixing in that Quarma element. Molluck is as important as Abe in all of this.

Finally, the humble Slig Security Force gets some new firepower!

My favorite end to an oddworld game

I try to not to kill too many sligs. Becouse they are much cooler now.

The fear on the glukkons' eyes when the doors to the brewmaster's office opens is an amazing detail.

The way the Gluks walk is fucking hilarious.

I wouldn't exactly call it a revolution. It's more of changing their allegiance to a different Glukkon boss. A revolution is if the Sligs tried to overthrow all of the Glukkons.

Despite his avid hatred for the Slig's demands Mullok did the smart thing.
