I really loved Lillie dub voice, I even posted on the Instagram of his English VA, Evan Michael Lee that he nailed it, said he gave Lillie a cool, cold serious tone that suited him, to which he said thank you!
They NAILED Lille and can’t wait for his Angrily Rants , just wonder what was SO hard to not nail Gerard. Out of all the masculine VA’s you coulda picked, you picked one more arrogant sounding then the Justice deep sounding voice everyone expected like the sub. Damian Mills does make Askin Nakk Le Vaar sound sarcastically brilliant though. Wonder who will voice Pernida.
@@Blad3sofWaRtbh Gerard sounds like the arrogant type even in the manga. Anyone with the power he has would be arrogant too. So I think they did a great job. He sounds masculine and arrogant at the same time. Which is probably what they were going for. Anyone who can’t die that easily is going to be cocky and full of themselves. If it wasn’t for Ywhach he would’ve probably killed 3 captains or more. Dude was a menace.
Whether you like Dub or not, can’t deny Nimaiya’s VA was perfect. And on the other hand Japanese guy was fine too but very hard to replicate and perfectly translate his mannerisms and phrases into Japanese.
@@tonberry2670now that you mention it, you’re right. New generations are coming in. Say a 33 year-old from a new generation we’re to be a new VA, would it be debatable? I digress
The dub REALLY flopped so far on the Gerard VA. Lille and Askin are perfect but Sabat, Seitz even (again), Even David Lodge (took his role of Zaraki at least give him Something) coulda did Gerard. Not masculine enough in the dub
Dave B Mitchell (a newer Voice Actor) is voicing Gerard. So far doesn’t fit the role in my opinion. Wish someone non union or union under a different name coulda did the role (Willingham, Sabat, Seitz ((despite playing Ishin/kenpachi)) Mercer, Blum even) would be SO much more gerard
@majosmajos6822 Thas cuz in a way all the sternritter are carried by ywatch. All of their abilities are given to them by ywach himself, except for 2 (Geralt and Pernida). Geralt is a monster, tho. This form he has right now is by far and away his weakest.
He might have that sword that cuts anything but he doesn't have the level of unusual counters like Gerard and the others do in their fights later on. Still wonder if that sword can cut through holy form Lille or giant Gerard.
@@garthyahudahandrews8504 most likely. Just the outcome of this intro fight for them made me wonder if they really were that weak up until Yhwach buffed them essentially. Especially the fact Oetsu managed to cut down two of them that had a Soul King piece.
Thought it was Herbert, it’s someone else….unless they change his tone in Cour 3, it’s nowhere near the masculine war monger like the dub. (Ex of voice range expected is Mercer, Seitz (despite his current roles), Chase, or Sabat)
