The loops on the foot end are for hanging it up for storage or drying.

@@englishwoodsman No problem my friend. If you store them in the stuff sack for too long, they take for ever to loft when you get them out. I keep mine hanging up and only put them into the stuff sack the day I am going out.

@@englishwoodsman Just to add I use a coat hanger in the two loops, they seem spaced just right. I also learned the hard way not to store the bags in their sacks even if uncompressed.

Thanks for review. I bought one. Not used it. Handy hint for packing away. Lay on ground. Half bag long ways (so left meets right side) Rolling tightly from feet to head (let's air escape). But yes ramming it in works too with a light bag but with normal bags it's normally murder trying to squeeze a big heavy bag away. You're welcome Y

First off..love your vids...the tabs are to hang it up either at camp to air/dry or at home when not used. All bag manufacturers recommend storing outside the stuff sack to keep 'loft' In the baffles of the bags. With temp ratings is best to keep in mind the individual's limit not the bag. Atb have fun 😎

The big advantage of this bag is that it's longer and wider than a lot of the competition. So great if you're taller or wider, or just prefer s little more space in a mummy bag. Downside is of course that you have more air to heat up inside. Lack of shoulder baffle has already been mentioned. Whether that's a good thing or not is a personal preference.

I literally bought one of these tonight from go outdoors. £35 with the membership card. Can’t argue with the price. I’m doing a summit camp on the 28th so I will find out. I went in for a 3season sleeping pad cause I’ve lost mine and don’t fancy taking my exped9 down pad in august 🥵

@@TheBeardedAdventurer did you try it? I've got the same bag. Used it down to 1-2 degrees in a hammock with a good underquilt. Slept ok but was kind of cold. I think with a sleeping bag liner and a decent sleeping pad you could get a little lower than 0 in a tent.

@@TheBeardedAdventurer nice one! I think for the price and weight it's a good deal! I'm doing the west highland way in may. Shouldn't have to worry too much about cold by then. There still a slight risk of below 0 at night here in may, but it's been a mild winter so hopefully not this year. Got a almost a whole new set up for it as I wanted a tent instead of my hammock. Lanshan 2 tent, cheap blow up pad (forget the name), reflective mat for top of pad (pad has no insulation), and this sleeping bag. Total cost is £200, Weight 3.2kg so not bad really! Definitely not a 4 season set up, but should get me though 3 seasons, and mild winter nights.

It’s like back in the old English Navy days when the man at the front of the ship would throw a line in the water to measure how deep the water was and it was measured in the name of the sleeping bag fathoms if that’s any help for your pronunciation

A good review - thanks. How well did your daughter sleep - or should I look at a different review? :) And I really appreciate the time and commitment and confidence that so many people put in to keeping us informed and inspired about gear, routes, camping options... I have an OEX 300 down bag - a couple of years old - maybe they are moving to synthetic? Mine is pretty light at 750g with slightly different temperature ratings. (Extreme -19C). It is a great mix of red and black and was comfortable down to 3c the other night. ( A 14-mile ramble around Norfolk followed by a garden camp!) Unfortunately, I began to consider my choices... I think OEX stuff will be fine unless taken to the extreme. I have a number of Chinese copies of tents and stoves, similar to the far more expensive, Chinese manufactured US and European branded items. They are not quite the same, but would we notice? (Latest is a nearly Big Agnes Tiger Wall 2 - under £60 with no pockets or hanging loop.) An aside; Inflatable mats... are they just ski slopes? Is blowing them up storing infection for the future! I have an OEX mat that I struggle to stay on unless the ground is completely level - and wonder what happens to any air left inside once deflated! I've walked and camped for over 40 years... often 'quiet-camped' - never 'wild-camped'! (I think that this is what most of us try to do!) Perhaps we should refocus our language! This isn't meant to be a rant! With the predicted weather, looking forward to checking how well the tent reproofing has gone! :) (10 tents!)

Great review, however I purchased the EV900 and was very disappointed with the warmth ratings. I quickly upgraded to a Rab ascent 900. I always stuff my sleeping bags for trips and hang them in sacks for storage. I have always thought if you roll or fold your sleeping the same way you can get thin spots/fatigue

toggle.. I think its a toggle on the pullstring.. I prefer a quilt myself, I use the snugpack hamock quilt as a sleeping bag.. even when sleeping on the ground. if its cold I wear my jacket and wrap another hammock quilt round my legs.. did buy a sleeping bag for winter but I tried it an I don't like it.. I feel anyone might come along and beat me on the head with a club and theres me, all tied up in a sleeping bag like a damned lamb to the slaughter.. no thanks, I like to think I can pounce out my sleep system and be on em before they know whats hit em.. ;)
