A lot of people say that the “la la la” hit them hard but I think the “where we are, where we are” is the most significant part of this entire song as you can hear the people other than the main vocalists, Nanna and Ragnar. I hear this part and I instantly want to cry out as it’s filled with so much emotion that’s just protruding in every aspect. But at the same time I get a feeling of almost eerie in the echoes that is heard in this part. Another significant part is the trumpet, it’s so beautiful and goes along with the story in this song and I absolutely love it.

I want to hug that house.

The "la la la"'s really hit me, like i can look back at so many things and hear that. I just want to cry listening to this song... It's so good!

Gosh can you just imagine living in one of these houses? Feeling the damp creaky floor boards under your feet, walking to a balcony and feeling the cool morning mist in your face, opening a window smelling the scent of wet soil and grass and just pure fresh air. Or maybe just enjoying a breakfast of warm soft bread and hot cocoa on the balcony. And when the sun is out, the house would look so alive in the yellow light. But at night the sky is much more alive because of the stars. Each house would have it's own personality, because of those living in it. Each house would have a story to tell, each house different yet there is a sense of familiarity within each one. A sense of comfort, security and love.

To me, this song always sounds like what you feel at the end of a book or a movie, especially a very long one or one you wrote. You are so happy at the ending and just want to dance. You finished it! But you also want to hide under your bed and cry because it is all over. The "la la la" part really gives that feel of sad happiness. Like saying goodbye to someone for the good.

Their music has helped me face post partum depression 4 years ago. Im here again for more healing. Thanks for these wonderful sounds.

our family had a small cabin near a lake, we finally had to sell it because no one near could afford to upkeep it. I loved it there and will never forget it, this song always remind me of our family's trips there, our campfires, songs and playing in the cold sandy beach. its beautiful.

I think this song is about losing something/someone close to you, using the metaphor of a house. So it's like, you really start to love something (gains our trust) and then suddenly it's gone and you feel this odd sense of betrayal (but then breaks it as he walks away from us). The rest of the lyrics just kind of go with that as well, except "In the fall we sleep all day," although I suppose that could be the torpor that sometimes accompanies loss. But then again, I could be wrong.

This song reminds me of my Junior year in college, as I played this a lot. That was a very happy year for me with tons of healing from the old stuff I took with me from HS (mainly the byproduct of my overly materialistic peers) It reminds me of the gentle souls I met along the way that year, who likely saw their older siblings who are my age, whose blithering nonsense likely inspired them to veer away from such mentalities. It also reminds me of the walk back to the house from campus, through my leafy neighborhood where absolutely nothing happens save for a yard sale or a bunch of alumni throwing a game party in a nearby house.
