i miss the arched 'wooden' doors of all three sizes! also agree on the old raised baseplates! loved those things too

My question is about space. As I am sure you are aware. Lego takes up a lot of space. I have started bagging up sets and putting them away to display new ones. What do you do with your sets in these kind of situations? Love the content and thank you.

I have that issue of missing the first modulars. The way I'm solving it without leaving the LEGO brand is designing my own version of those modulars, modernizing the techniques and the details but with easily available pieces, to keep them on a budget. I already built Cafe Corner with all new pieces spending around 400 dollars. I also have a question for you: Are you a part of a LEGO community or do you collaborate with other LEGO builders or LEGO you tubers? Great questions and answers video! A lot of the quality issues of off-brand not-Lego are rapidly diminishing as they improve their processes. Also, to combine topics, they are an ideal source for putting together cheap MILS plates.

Regarding "off-brand Lego," I'd be among the first to discourage anyone from buying counterfeit/pirated sets from companies like Lepin, who steal designs from Lego. But the field of Lego's legitmate competitors is fascinating and burgeoning and filled with some extremely interesting designs and fun builds, often with very high quality bricks and manuals, and often at far more reasonable prices. Some of these companies offer licenses or themes Lego doesn't: military, Steampunk, wild West, historically based medieval, etc. Some of my favorite builds have actually been non-Lego sets. (But you're right about the old Mega Bloks/Construx sets: some neat designs like the three-foot-long starship Enterprise, but junky bricks. Those bricks were garbage compared to the bricks used by Cobi, Pantasy, or Cada, which are as good as Lego or better.)

FWIW, i've found Cobi bricks to feel fantastic in terms of fit and finish. They almost fit too tightly though . I will not touch the Chinese knockoffs. Also totally agree on the lego book

Id like to see more of those big castle arched doors for one! And more animals released in variety of themes. Soon as I saw the castle had a bee hive in a tree, I had to get a bear. Lego... why do you want me buying the majority of my lego budget on 3rd party stuff?
