We are so fortunate to live in one of the sunniest regions! Curious to know: How big is your generator? Are you running your home off it or charging your batteries with it? It’s always interesting to know what others are doing with their systems is all 😊

We are 100% off grid. We have an 8kW system and have. 10kw diesel generator. It charges our batteries. The generator only comes on Nov to Feb obviously it comes on allot dec and Jan. It never comes on May-Sept. we heat 100% with wood. Propane Fridge stove and water heater. 160 deep well in bedrock. 145 acres on a small lake. Paradise.

Very similar. You guys a just a few years younger. 😉. We have been doing off-grid since 2003. Full time since 2017. Made lots of mistakes but learned a ton. Built our own place. Mill wood, Hunt , Fish. Live with Bears Moose deer wolves all around us. Love it.

It’s funny because in a lot of ways, we are still so new at this video creating gig. And we totally forget to pick up a camera! That’s what happened here, my dad was interrupted and I had to be in town all day. When I got home it was hot and wonderful and we hopped in and forgot all about RU-vid haha

That’s the truth isn’t it! I’m pretty lucky that way ❤️

It was cringy drilling through the hot tub. I should’ve just poked a hole and drilled it back through the other side, but it worked out. No we didn’t drain it out after each use. But we do drain the Chofu every night, and plug the hot tub off. It held temperature every night. Then just fire up the Chofu in the morning to get it up to soaking temperature, which doesn’t take long.

Yes, haha. Sometimes people use the 45 gallon drums for trash cans ;-) But it sure does work to heat your hot tub!
