Sometimes in everyday life we take things for granted. Resources are definitely one of them and if there's anything we've learned, water is life! We are crafting solutions to be more self sufficient every single step of the way. And water is no exception.

Yep! When we moved off grid, we really had a new respect for water and electricity! You learn how to conserve very quickly. You two are kicking butt! ❤

Your garden has such an amazing spot for growing. I’m so jealous. I bought some plants for gardening on Thursday with the intention of planting on Friday. Then Thursday afternoon we had that massive hailstorm. Lucky for me my husband went out while it was hailing and brought the plants in. Still waiting for the ground to dry up some so I can get planting. Another great hard working video. Thanks for sharing.

Good thing he was there to rescue the plants! Do you get big hail where you are? It can be so destructive! We’ve had to cover some of the plants at night because we are still getting frost.

@@OffGridWithChrisandKristie we did get a fair amount of pea size hail. I was really surprised at how long it lasted on the ground. Hopefully we can get our gardens safely planted soon. It’s been a crazy spring.

I'm in Northwestern Ontario, and we were under an air quality advisory due to the smoke from wildfires in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan last weekend. I had to close my windows because of the smell, I can't imagine how bad it was being so close to it. We missed out on the Aurora , and the solar eclipse too because of rain clouds and smoky conditions.

Awe man. Enough is enough with these fires each summer. A lot of our loved ones have been evacuated and are displaced.

One advise: First burn then you could use old motor oil to prepair the posts. Is an old way of safe your wood.

@GOAT_GOATERSON
@GOAT_GOATERSON 4 месяца назад
@@OffGridWithChrisandKristie so within a 100 km from the Yukon border? I don't want to know your address or even the town where you live(obviously), it's just that I want to move to the northwest territories and I want to see a climate year round that's as similar as southern nwt, if that makes sense
@OffGridWithChrisandKristie
@OffGridWithChrisandKristie 4 месяца назад
@@GOAT_GOATERSON no not that close. Our latitude is 56* I believe the Yukon and NWT border is 60* So about 450 km as the crow flys. There’s definitely a lot to consider when looking at climate, elevation is a big one and proximity to the coast :) start by researching the growing zones in the area
