My wife and I got one three month ago and very happy with it, we had eight inches of snow a week ago and I took our car out to see how it would handle using the 4x4. I was very impressed the way it handle in the snow and yes I had fun with it. I'm disabled and it's so easy for me to get in and out of this vehicle, I would recommend this vehicle to my friends and family. The only thing that I'm surprised about is that my car did not come with fog lights, when we purchased this vehicle we thought it came with a set, specially with the priced that we paid for this car. Other then that, very happy with the car.

@@jabird212 i have had a 2012 OS since 2014 and havent had any reliability issues - no repairs needed, just maintenance (engine/trans oil and brake changes) - and im not exactly nice to it either.

I have the big Outlander 2016 and I have a low L gear mode below D mode. It helps in steep descent or climb. Here in Canada this sport trim is called RVR, and I think it has the L mode as well but not sure.

HI Dave, I am a fan of your channel. I have always wondered why you have never done the same test (off road) on Subaru Crosstreck XV. When you get a chance, can you please do an off road test and give us your opinion when compared to RVR Vs XV? Thanks.

About time you were able to get back to the ORV park. Welcome back to off-roading. Hopefully more car companies will see you are not "abusing" these cars and be more receptive to letting you go off-road with them.

WOOHHOO!!! BACK TO THE ORV PARK!!! Glad to see you back out there Dave. I still don't understand what manufacturers would have against you show casing the abilities of their vehicles in terrain that owners will almost never take them too. I think it just shows how well built and capable these softroaders really are and the driving isn't bad either.

So much talk about how cvt sucks or "Mitsubishi is still around?" Or how the interior is outdated but tell you what; I would take this over any compact SUVs in the market because of its fuel economy, long term reliability and if you get the black, the mean looking exterior.

+The Host This is a reasonably solid effort from Mitsubishi, but there are plenty of other compact SUVs that don't make you settle for an outdated interior with old tech, get better MPG (23/26 is at the low end of the range for this class), and that are just as - or more - reliable. This certainly isn't the worst in the class, but there's probably 4 or 5 others I'd look at before this.

+Ronbars for more price? For an interior you enjoy an hour a day at best? Well that's logical. And the outlander sport's mpg averages at 27. My neighbor owns one. Get your facts first and come back. Take your time.

+The Host Don't drop the mic quite so fast there. In questioning my logic, recall that YOU mentioned the mean looking exterior -- so I ask do you spend more time looking at your car or driving it? Would you rather something whose looks you prefer but is subpar inside? The 2.4 GT AWD being tested here is rated at 23/26. Check Mitsubishi's website. This is far worse than the ratings for the far larger, more powerful, and nicer CX-5 (2.5L) and CR-V. In fact, the best rated Outlander Sport is the front-wheel drive 2.0 ES 5MT at 25/32/28 which is -1/-1/-1 compared to a larger front-wheel drive 2.4 CR-V that has 37 more horsepower. It gets even worse for the Mitsubishi if you compare those figures to the similarly-sized HR-V (which is still larger than the Outlander Sport). Those enough facts for you? The competition may be more expensive, but you are getting a vastly nicer car with more power, more technology, better MPG (even comparing larger engines), better reliability, and MUCH, MUCH better resale value (and there's your purchase price difference back). But perhaps you prefer the looks of the Outlander Sport so much that none of that makes a difference. There is a reason Mitsubishi is floundering!

+Ronbars Those are probably one of the main reasons why Mit is suffering in US market, though doing okay with SUV's. They have no real financial backing anymore since split from Chrysler so no money to R&D new tech to some degree or or even able to improve existing parts. Like most foreign cars, Mit has very dependable engines but have issues with dual-clutch/awd systems being clunky and outdated. Evo is a prime example of why Mit has issues and it's piss poor management imo. While the Evo has more tech than most cars in Mit's lineup, it's vastly too expensive for the lack of new tech, interior noise, outdated sst transmission and awd system, and very bad mpg. Maybe some day Mit will get it's act together and/or partner up with another auto manufacture. They can make a good car, but just don't have the creativity to backup the lack of finances.

+DazdnCofuzd mitsubishi is financially backed by its owners, Mitsubishi corporation. one of the richest Japanese corporations globally. please don't forget that mitsubishi motors corporation isn't some stand alone company hanging out in the middle of a desert somewhere. and R&D is happening, just not with the products most people expect from Mitsubishi. proof? pikes peak international hill climb, Trans Asia rally, dakar,and the recently passed Portugal Baja rally. those weren't done in vain or for vanity, all that R&D will go into future ev and phev tech. in the mean time, there are forced induction 3, 4, and even 6 cylinders in their labs as I type this. as for not being able to improve current products, the 2016 Outlander proves otherwise. just because the interior LOOKS the same most people assume that nothing happened with build quality but it took a significant step forward. I'll admit, not a giant leap, but in the context of a mid cycle refresh it's a big gain in quality. hell, I own a 2011 outlander sport and the 2015 model feels like a completely different car all over, that's just how much it's quality improved over the years

I think bitumen and smooth cut gravel need to be in the same realm somewhat. I mean my 2WD 2017 ASX can do all that. Off road is off the beaten track, not sure how Australia compares but what I think of our off road is somewhere an ASX cannot drive or survive.

Mitsubishi is legendary ...wining Dakar rallies 12 times and other rally competitions. Experience is there...their only problem is that they don't advertise their cars enough. I believe they are better than Toyotas in and out.
