I've been wanting to go and see this area for awhile now. With the Fall colors in full affect, we decided to go off roading and explore this area of the Eastern Sierra. Kavanaugh Ridge trail itself is not that hard, any 4x4 with high clearance will have no issue completing this trail.

That was the most perfect time for some drone footage. The colors really popped! The trail isn't too technical, but we had a 6 speed manual AWD that wouldn't go up the trail. We did have automatic and CVT Subarus that made it up okay.

I was pleasantly surprised at how steep it gotten. Not too technical but definitely steep. I can see how a manual AWD would have a bit of issue. You gotta do a hot pot on an overlanding trip one day Jon...especially with winter coming up. Perfect camping food for the cold.

Nice video. Loved the drone footage. I spent last week camping at June lake. Got pretty chilly at night, but the Fall colors were off the hook! Your food looked great man! 🔥

Beautiful fall colors already. Gorgeous. We love June lake area. Lone pine is our usual spot. Mt Whitney area is awesome. Noticed it looked like you took 395 through Adelanto? Or did you go via the 14?

We love that area too...been exploring the Lone Pine area for many years now. We took the 395 all the way up to Virginia Lake area...Cinammon meadow was where we explored.

My buddy has a stock Subaru crosstrek and I have a stock long bed Tacoma like michael’s. Saul do you think we can make it all the way up to the ridge considering the rocky road and steep hills? Please advice, thank you
