Nice job Joe. This country is so torn apart on every front. But one thing we can always come together on is the music. Thanks much for the great interview with Jerry and we look forward to the solo album. Cheers! ❣️🍀
Seeing him BY MYSELF 🙄 in April here in Dallas. It's the first "event" I'm getting out of the house for in MONTHS. So to say I'm excited is the understatement of the year! 😁🎸❤👍
I know! When he said "first solo album in 20 years" I nearly spit out my coffee! 😱 But with a title like "Brighten," I'm hoping that's a good sign. Perhaps its taken him just that long to work through things in his life, especially when it comes to the loss of Layne, his own addictions, losing Courtney, what to do about the band, all of that. But his lyrics are still super deep and personal for sure! ❤💔
@@clearlycaribbeanreb2895 Indeed. It's dark, heavy, melodic - everything you want in a rock record; with lyrics that'll strip paint off of walls. It's hard rock at its absolute best
Alice n Chains was a huge part of our lives back in the 90s. It's funny to see Jerry being interviewed by a kid who likely wasn't alive during that time.
For real, was totally thinking the same thing as I watched the video! I was already playing guitar when I got to see AIC open up for Van Halen and they IMMEDIATELY became my favorite band, and singer obviously, ever since that night!! *Mad Season is right there too, what an amazing band- if only they could have put a few more albums out, soo much talent there... RIP to the one's we've lost
@@SeanEnginetechnology I saw them open up for Van Halen too :) They were kinda crappy that night though, it was obvious the band was stoned/drunk. But the first time I saw them was at Clash of the Titans where they opened for Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer. Most of us hadn't heard of them at that point and were completely blown away. That night they were awesome.
Jerry is the dopest mfer other then layne to exist..somewhere in the realm of jesus lol..jk but I love jerry ..and probably the best singer songwriter we got still making good music...this deserves to be loved like Morrison was like I'm 30 I have every doors album I love Jim Morrison...when I was in school some 40 years after the doors iconic run..me and my friends where eating mushrooms and taking wild trips and having a blast to that music ..anyway I believe jerry who's lucky enough to have a longer career then many others thank god we got the dude...and I hope kids just being born rn are listening to him when I'm in my 60s lol ...I doubt this new generations taste in music tho...its the mass consumer generation and feels so bunk and like it has no real heart...so I thank jerry for the years of great music..and I know they always say older ppl hate the kids music every generation and I know it to be true...but I like music from every era and this one we in now is my least favorite cause no1 has any heart it's all for the dollar and nothing else...but what about chaos for chaos sakes? They got no soul eff um
sometimes when I hear jerry doing this solo records I think he is like Todd rundgrens brother 🤣 if you think about it, he has a lot in common with Todd. Todd, too had his own band utopia but he really did a lot of producing as well as songwriting. he also was a great guitarist but most of us only knew him as a singer of hello its me and I saw the light back in the 70s. and he too put together his own solo record in his own studio which was live, something anything. it, like d trip for jerry was has iconic mark. jerry is an innovator like todd,he does things before everyone else does and says true to himself. and he like Todd, mostly works behind the scenes. wow I would love to see the two of them collaborate on an album. both sheer genius that remain humble in all there success. and I can see jerry, up in his 60s like Todd, preforming and teaching young kids about music 🎶. fir he too, would never stop doing what he loves ❤️ so proud of him.😊😊😊😊😊😊
@janiceg7661 it is a beautiful song about how two people who really lived each other just can't stay togther... but they will always support each other. Todd was so deep... still one of my favorite singer songwriter. Listen to a dream goes on forever live with him on piano back in the 70s ... just beautiful 😍
