To all the people commenting about Starlink, I would if I could. But when I try to sign up at this location it tells me it won't be available until "late 2022". So no matter what, I'm going to have to get a different internet service right now.
Could you get Starlink using the address of someone you know that is in a supported area? Maybe they can ship the needed hardware there and then you take it to your office. This is assuming that the satellite dish doesn't have any region locking beyond not being able to find satellites in that area.
Off topic but posting this here cause I wanted you to see it, in regards to what you were saying about uploading in 1080 instead of 4k to save on upload time I think it's a good idea cause nobody can even notice the difference when watching on a phone, I have a Galaxy Note+ so I would def notice if it was noticeable, that being said here are my suggestions: for one you can film in 4k and then render and export in 1080 so that you can crop and zoom in without losing any video quality if you aren't really concerned about the file sizes in terms of your own storage capacity and ability for your computer to process it all as you edit, and my other suggestion is to render your videos in 30 fps instead of 60 fps cause that should save you a ton of time by making the file sizes smaller having half as many frames per video, doubling the frame rate definitely makes a difference in gaming but it's pointless when it comes to video cause nobody can notice the difference, that being said it's good to see that you made it thru your rough patch and found a good new space to film in and are getting the financial support you need to continue making your content cause you make great videos bro
Your excitement is larger than that office, holy smokes it's awesome! Hope my YT Premium views from the AkbKuKu days until now has helped a bit to get you to this point. I really love your stuff, hope you the best going on forward!
30:15 Lava lamps in the background? You plan on connecting some technologies for us? The new space is off to a great start! I'm glad this is working out for you.
Highly recommended! It'd be easy enough for a single person to install on a window that size, too. I did my living room window in 2014 and the shelf of Saturn games next to it has suffered no damage since then.
Congrats, Shelby. Hope it works out well. In an office like that, never leave anything valuable on the floor. If water leaks overnight or over the weekend, the carpet can be soaked before anyone knows.
years ago when I was starting my first small business, someone described the process to me as "building the car as you're driving it." remember to enjoy every step of the process!
For Future reference, they make this furniture wrap that comes in huge rolls, used for wrapping couches and things. As long as you just have cardboard boxes and not hard fragile plastic (like Sega CD or Sega Saturn cases), you can just wrap the whole bookshelf, games and all. That also would have protected the back panel :). I used them in my last move and it was a game changer.
Duuuuude! You've just begun the foundations for AkBKukU Studios! XD 12:33 - You've honestly handled this segment _way_ better than the pros, with the hearing-impaired-translator-esque circle in the corner narrating your experiences as edited for illustration purposes!
Shadoan Reaches is part of a three game series that includes Kingdom: The Far Reaches (1995, originally release in 1984 to arcades as Thayer's Quest) and Kingdom II: Shadoan (1996). Shadoan Reaches is a prequel to Kingdom II: Shadoan. It was also apparently a Mac exclusive release? That's about all I can tell you. Definitely a series forgotten by time.
6:43 looks like a Waiting sitting area, i think that office might have been orginally designed for dentis physical terapy or doctor etc :D 31:52 LOL XD :D yes the gears are spinning on ideas of placing stuff etc :D Looks Really good :D
I am very relieved to see that the viewers came through for you. This looks like a great step forward. Hope all your health issues were resolved. You look very excited. Just awesome.
Dude, this is awesome! I have frequently daydreamed about getting some office space just for my hobbies. You're living the dream! But, you're moving all this stuff yourself? Wow, that's playing life on hard mode for sure! Get some friends to help, or rent some friends to help at least (I'd volunteer if I were nearby). But anyway, I'm excited for you, looking forward to seeing what you can accomplish here :)
"you can't get more than 20Mbit/s up here" As a guy who until recently was stuck with a 5Mbit/s connection I feel that PS: wow, Dark Forces had a strategy guide?! Cool
I'm in the process of binge catching up your channel after your DRM video landed on my feed, your office is larger than my entire house!! I'm 868 square feet here lol
So excited for you/the channel!!! fwiw i'd put your editing area in that second "odd" office area: keeps you away from the window light/glare, possible foot/traffic sound by the front door, and keeps any possible eyes off your "expensive" gear (to John Q. Public anyway) walking by the front door.
Hey man, I have been a follower for a while, but I just want to ask, are you OK? You're kinda looking like you haven't taken care of yourself for a while and im worried, keep it up, you're amazing
Looks great so far, really looking forward to more content. Also might a suggest you get a little "L" bracket to pull the top of the two books shelfs together so that they are one more stable and two will hide the wall at the top and make it match the bottom. you could also srew the shelf in from of the window to the other one as well and shore up the whole setup.
I like the Ikea Billy bookshelves for PC games, assuming you're close enough to one. They're relatively cheap, sturdy(mine have survived like 5 moves), and look nice
I am Very Happy for you young man ... I wish i was able to help you when you asked... like many MANY others, i am in the same boat with no paddle . I know how it goes and how you feel so im am Extremely happy that our community is like this and will Help others when it is needed . Cheers and good luck to you .
Your office is larger than my house square foot wise. Congratulations, been away for a couple weeks so just now catching up on all the Tech Tangents! Keep them coming man
Congratulations on your new office. You might consider putting a piece of XPS rigid insulation between the window and the back of your bookcase. The windows in that type of office are notoriously poor quality and the bookcase is likely to get pretty hot.
Great office! Seems period appropriate, too! Glade to see you'll get to follow your passions. Love the uniqueness of your channel and I'm happy to see you'll get to keep it going.
I had those same shelves since middle school and into my middle 20s. In my middle 20s, I got IKEA shelving and wouldn't look back; cheap-ish, durable, dependable and classy looking. Just some advice about solutions in the future. Also, this place looks awesome! I'd want to spend every moment there. Black that window out if you're going to keep that stuff there, i.e. if you're worried about it fading.
For all of that, $1000 is pretty good for office space. I used to live at my office space and it was fun when I had friends who had the same experience and we an office bathroom and shower, so it all worked out ok.
Dear Mr Tech Tangents. Get a UV film for the window. You can then let the light in without damage to the game boxes etc. 👍 It will not Completely remove sun's detoriating effects but should reduce it greatly.
I would put reflective blackout curtains on the windows to prevent any light from getting in. reflective because black curtains will heat up, whereas reflective backed curtains won't
I know it was not much with me buying a single sticker, but I love the keyboard sticker, and will buy some more stickers when I can. Please keep up the good work, and the office space is looking so 80's/90's awesome.
Sorry, i already left a few comments, but I just had to add: Congrats on the space, and the patreon! Can't wait to see more! I'll definitely be jumping in on some merch! :)
so glad things are looking better for you AkBKukU and i just love how ecited you seem in this video you can really tell you have been working with verry little space up to this point i hope things just keep getting better from here all the best
Ok I've just found your channel the other day. I've subscribed and I'm also a RU-vid premium member and I've been going through all your old videos and watching them and liking them. I'm trying to work through them all but it's going to take some time. I hope this will help you out in some small way. I'm off work after a head injury and having to relearn walking and talking again. So money is something I'm very short of. I'm hoping this will help a little for you. I love watching your videos,I use to know computer stuff before my injury, now I can't remember anything about them. Sucks but I still like watching about them,I can't remember stuff anymore so I check for a red bar on videos to see if I watched them or not. Before RU-vid premium I would watch the same videos day after day. Love the work you do,thank you for your hard work and effort and time to make people happy.
So happy and hyped for you. Excited!!! I would highly suggest investing in some sort of renters alarm. Stay away from the big companies like ADT and VIVINT; build one yourself
