Get the wood painted or stained, but try to not get rid of it, because wood is SO expensive right now. Also I’d say keep the Spanish vibes. In that small restroom keep the bowl sink, change the floors to a herringbone pattern ,light color with a natural stone ,and the sink counter top you can put a matte white marble . Change the mirror to a more modern mirror . and lighten the color on the walls. Look up houses sold in the OC ( like Laguna beach ect) they have beautiful modern Spanish style vibes. This exactly what I’m doing to my house. It’s classic and timeless

Do a movie theater for the upstairs room! It’s secluded from all the other rooms. It has its own bathroom for space. The closet could be used a storage. & yeah it would be a good family room for like a movie theater & you could even add a bin with board games, add a pool table, etc if you wanted to make it more of a fun activity game room

I’d hire a professional interior designer and a professional home organizer. It’s a really big house and it’s a forever home so why not get it right the first time. I think Iluvsarahii hired a professional organizer to help her with her beauty room. Do the pantry and kitchen as well as the closets girl. I would get rid of the entire cabinet that is in that hallway between the “twin rooms” to really open up that hallway. I’d change the granite counter tops might I recommend a quartz which is much stronger than granite or marble and comes in so many colors and is easier to maintain.

The room that connects to the back without a bathroom should be a chill/game room . Something Where guest can come in and out of and when your friends get drunk can just crash .

You should definitely make the room with a restroom mama’s room since it’s downstairs and has a walk in shower. The room that shares the bathroom should be guest rooms, the upstairs room should be the beauty room! LOVE THE HOUSE, CONGRATS ✨🤍

Its a gorgeous house. As a decorator myself, dark wood cabinets especially in the kitchen is definitely a no-no. Its best to keep those cabinets and have a professional to come into your house and they commercially spray them to another color. I would choose "China White" By Benjamin Moore in the "Pearl" finish with stainless steel hardware OR paint them a Medium gray with satin gold hardware or stainless steel hardware. Counter tops, DO NOT do granite. QUARTZ is how you want to go. It beautiful, durable and what's in style in homes today and its less expensive than granite. White Quartz with the Gray streaks is amazing. I did it to my house in the Hampton's. Stunning. The backsplash, can be the same as the quartz to have a uniform look as well or choose a marble backsplash. Also I have a speaker sound system in my house as well. You want to up grade that CD wall player to a 10" iPad, and install it in-wall and download on to it, spodify, pandora, etc.

The extra room can be your baby’s toy room that leads outside to keep indoor toys and outdoor adventures connected 😍❤️

I wouldn’t prioritize spending money on changing the laundry room counter tops. The Mexican style bathroom is such a nice sentiment to leave it how it is, it’s so unique- and only a guest bathroom to be appreciated. The room with the window nook should definitely be the dream beauty room ! 😍 and then Mama’s room on the other side. The closet in the Master bedroom, if it’s all real wood really try to use what you can from it and maybe just paint over them. The cost and supply of wood is a little crazy right now and expensive! Upstairs would be cute as a guest room quarters and keep them a little private from you guys when staying over.

Also one thing that will make dark wood more modern is to paint it black! I’ve seen it done really well in a lot of older Spanish homes, especially with black iron details and Moroccan tiles

This is my favorite home on RU-vid. It's gorgeous Bri. Id honestly keep as much as possible of what the house comes with, maybe change some cabinet knobs and change the color but not fully replace the furniture pieces.
