The one thing I liked about this season was they way they genuinely seemed to care for another and went out of their way to lift each other up, the friendship and sisterhood was there in these early stages. I was expecting this entire season to be bitching and arguing and there was never so much as one squabble. that all came later with success and ego...shame, they could have been one of the greats.
The thing that set this group apart than everyone else is that they were manufactured. They were selected from the best if the crop. Other groups did not have that. What they had against them was non of Puffy's groups stay and fall on bad terms. Da Band, the LOX, Total...they all fell apart
troy bowman agreed lol. I never liked D. Woods. She was so standoffish and cold to Dawn and Aundrea. And just ignored Shannon all together. She later admitted she never even wanted to be in a group. Just using this platform to further her ”career”
Tommy Siro if you go listen to Aubrey and Shannon on the breakfast club as well as when Aubrey was saying how dawn disguised herself in the blogs and would say terrible things about d woods. Dawn was a lot of the problem and Diddy and the producers of multiple shows hid it well. D woods is a sweetheart. And plus, Dawn pinched Aubrey. Ego is deadly.
@@JohnnyHandsomeᵗᵐ Girl stfu Dawn is the only one with a successful solo career for a reason and Diddy had Dawn stay for a reason Dawn and Drea carried DK vocally and Dwoods knows that hence why she was so bitter and Aubrey can't talk she literally slept her way to the bottom
No, in a few episodes back Dawn actually told D to wear what makes her feel comfortable during their show in Orlando. She felt bad when Diddy talked about D's weight
I don't agree with Diddy lots of times but it was very true dawn didn't match her part. She's not really a speak-singing kind of vocalist. She has a great tone and an amazing voice and I love how she sounds on the bridge. Shes putting so much pressure on herself.
Dawn complaining but they took time to write an additional part when usually they just wouldn’t let you sing on the song (poor Shannon for example) no hate, I like Dawn but you def see the favoritism
The whole episode was staged to give Dawn a storyline for the season she admitted it in an interview. She sang higher notes throughout the album and sang them live too. Like the episode with Aundrea being the "lead singer" of Hold Me Down. They edit it to look like Aundrea is the only one on the song but they are all on it to give her more storylines.
There’s always a person in a music group with a hella unique voice.. DK had Dawn.. TLC has T-BOZ.. DC had Latavia in the beginning and honestly with DC 3 they all have unique voices.. Xscape had Kandi.. I wish Dawn knew her voice is what made them sound different
@@holemate Aundrea voice is not unique at all lol she has a typical soprano pop voice in fact many songs her and Aubrey sound alike, dawn literally was the backbone of DK sound she has adlibs on every song for a reason. And dawn voice is not typical rnb please have you ever hear brandy? Dawn has raspy deep voice the likes of T boz Latavia Kandi Michelle have.
Oh she knew the sleep on it song and her part was already created. I always felt something not genuine when she was hearing what he was singing but she purposely kept singing wrong. Come years later, found out she knew Pooh bear the team and was already chosen for the band with head start on choreos to sail through competition
Tommy Rousseau I have to respectfully disagree... Dawn sounds great on the bridge, but on her part of the second verse, I feel like someone else with a higher tone should have sang that part. Instead. If you listen to the song, you could hear Shannon stacking her vocals on top of Dawn’s part of the verse. For example: ( floor, right now, bump, other, ...ture, see me, it out...) then Dawn sings background on Shannon’s part (do it, all week, jazzy, party, speak)
Sanders RA maaaaaaan. I thought I was the only one... D.Woods could have sang that second verse it fits her voice better. Dawn coulda sang the pre-hook with so much passion. But... time constraints, I guess... lol
Everyone sayin Aubrey and Shannon cannot sing need to STOP these ladies ALLLL have voices..they mess up cuz they ae human just like us btw if you haven't FIGURED IT OUT [See what I did there?] :P I love these now and then and forever. BUT this is the first and the end of it all, when Dawn realized her part was taken away and given to D WOODS so thats where the competition was. Diddy said its best for the song but he even told the producer to write a part for Dawn specifically so she needs to chill the fuck out, but its her EGO, she named the group, she's the DENOSH of the whole group now! Nothing wrong with it but now I see it CLEAR why the group broke.. this was the moment...the first sign of insecurity.. Aubrey's worries of parts taken comes later cuz she has ALWAYS had an insecure of singing or being good enough despite the producer saying she's perfect! I believe Diddy didn't have one of his crew to cultivate these girls while he was away if Laurie Ann/Doc/Johnny would cycle through a bit to help navigate them cuz its just them now and Diddy and you know Diddy don't care nothing bout nobody but the dollars signs. Even Aundea jumped on him and gave him a hug like a little girl so happy to see her daddy..THESE girls would have been the ULTIMATE GIRL GROUP. But I have all their solo work and group projects!
They saying they can mess up in the studio bc it's on diddy's dime. This is why artists end up broke. Upfront everything is paid for and the label recoups it in the end
Huh? In what world does a singer sing everything perfectly the first time? I don't care how talented an artist is; he or she needs space to learn and perfect a song, and that's the studio.
@@misspriss2482 the idea is to practice it extensively before you make it to the studio. Here, it seems like they are learning the song, in full, at the studio. That is quite expensive. Of course u can make mistakes in the studio but u want it as together as possible before u ever step foot in there.
@@jenlunceford Yes except they weren't introduced to each song until they were in the studio. Their first time hearing each song was when they were literally standing in the studio. How can they perfect something they've never heard?
@@misspriss2482 that's exactly the problem. It's how record labels screw new artists. They don't get how much the label is spending and how they'll charge them all later. There are simple ways to cut costs such as limiting expensive studio time. Also, on the topic of them learning songs they didn't know, the label also wouldn't allow them to record their own original songs. That's also why a lot of artists are going independent nowadays
