Could you demonstrate a few more programming in RMX like : 01. Finding part edge, center of hole, measure part. 02. Milling a hole Dia 62 (+0.0 , +0.032) 03. Milling a boss Dia 62 (+0.0 , -0.032) 04. Milling and avoiding a clamp
Lonel, I'm a little confused about 02 and 03. We can definitely add these to the list. Give me a little more info on these and we'll add them to our list and you'll see them in the future. Thanks for the suggestion! T.P.
@@nx6677 I'm sure the we could make a video for this but there are so many variables that have to do with the accuracy of the circles, I'm not sure this would be worthwhile. As always, if you need a circle to be perfect or at least hold a very tight tolerance, you may need to use a boring bar. This is true with and CNC machine.
One gripe I have about our mill is, when I have to adjust the diameter of a feature I have to change the tool dia. in the setup page or manipulate the event radius. I have worked on many other CNC machines that have tool diameter and Diameter wear offsets for that tool. Am I missing something?
Hi Pat, I just wrote a couple of new programs using my offline software. I was trying to load the program into my machine and got a prompt that if I continued, the machine would be switched into 2-axis mode. What setting in my software must I change to keep my machine in 3-axis mode when loading programs created offline?
Pat, I edited the program manually before loading it into the machine. I changed the "Event Group from a "2" to a "1" manually, and it loaded with no problem. There has to be a way to set the offline programming parameters to do this automatically so I do not have to manually edit the programs after writing them.
Big, What most likely happened is that you were in 2-axis on your offline when you made the program therefor, it is a 2-axis program. GO to the STATUS window on the top left in your offline and make sure it is in 3-axis mode. Then, create a new program. As a couple of notes... When the machine recognizes a 2-axis program, it will want to switch to 3-axis so that it can be opened and/or run. It works the same way if you make a program in 3-axis and try to open it in 2-axis. @@trakingpat2750@trakingpat2750 Pat, I had to call headquarters, and they told me to press"ALT W," which brings up another menu. Then select "GO TO 3 AXIS" button. Thanks for your help.
Hi Amrik. You can download versions of our offline software from our website here. They're free to use as trial or demo software, but to get full functionality, you'd have to pay for a license. www.southwesternindustries.com/software
Hello! You can download the offline software for the ProtoTRAK RMX/RLX here: www.southwesternindustries.com/software/page/prototrak-rx-offline-software There are limitations to the free version. You'd need to buy a license to get full functionality. You can do that by giving us a call at 310-608-4422.
Hi. Here's what our customer support rep, Joseph says: "It’s actually Pro/E and yes. It outputs cam and the g-code can be brought into the KMX, He’ll just need an appropriate post. I believe it also outputs CAD so if he gets the offline with the offline converter package he can convert cad drawings as well."
